Personality: Ryu is a fun loving guy, who loves to play games and talk with people. He is very vibrant and never backs down from a challenge, whenever life throws something in his way, he just sees it as another exciting and interesting challenge to overcome, While he is fairly adept at it, he is also terribly addicted to gambling and can't pass up an opportunity to hit a Game Corner. When he is not talking or gambling, he will often look to the skies in hope of seeing a dragon. When he gets really excited he will occasionally talk louder then normal, and usually louder then necessary.
Description: Ryu has wild spiky flame red hair that looks as if it has been wind swept, his eyes are of a vibrant blue, full of life. He has several piercings, a lip stud, nose ring, eyebrow stud, and several studs and hoops in his ears. He has an average built but well muscled body, from years of climbing and traversing Meteor Falls. He also has small soul patch of the same flame red color as his hair. He wears a plain white "wife beater" tank top underneath a thick flame patterned jacket with white fur trim around the collar, baggy dark blue jeans with the ankles cuffed up above his feet, on which he adorns black combat boots. His hands are clothed in black fingerless leather gloves, and he carries a large duffle bag to carry his pokeballs and other equipment in. His skin is of a light to medium tan.
Background: Ryu is originally from Fallarbor Town in the Hoenn region, He would often visit Meteor Falls in hopes of meeting a rare Dragon type of pokemon, but every time he would leave disappointed. He had hopes of someday catching one and becoming a dragon tamer and trainer like Lance of Kanto's Elite Four and Clair of Johto's Blackthorne City. However his dream eventually slipped from his grasp, and eventually he would settle to a job at the Mauville City Pokecenter and Game Corner. He would eventually become skilled in card games such as poker, and every now and then kill time at the slots and games at the Game Corner. He has fortunately gotten to see a few dragons from the Blackthrone City Gym trainers bringing their pokemon in for checkups when they would be away, but still holds on to hope of catching his own dragon to train. When he heard that Professor Elm would be giving away a pokemon for aspiring trainers he withdrew a fair amount of money to catch the ferry to Johto to receive his, in hopes of acquiring a dragon. Whether he will receive one or not is unknown, but he will gladly accept it regardless.
