After reading through the twenty-odd pages of the FAQ/Tech Support thread (including the 5 pages of *huge*-post loli argument - thanks guys, btw for including that in a thread people are reading through looking for tech help), the RPGMaker thread and pretty much any other threads that might have a link...
It occurs to me, that we should have a single thread of just links to the *useful* programs many of us will need but may not be familiar enough with to pick a decent one. Yes, I *can* use my Google-Fu to find a program that does [whatever], but choosing one from the list of 100+ results that actually WORKS WELL (and doesn't have God knows what other crap code hidden/included) is another issue entirely.
To this end, I suggest that someone with the seniority to post links create a thread with a list of decent, reliable program types and links to find them. Let the other threads stand with all the instructions - sometimes we just need the link. Even if not the link, a list of which program to use would be AWESOME and save a lot of frustration!

Anyway, if someone could do this and perhaps we could get one of the mods to 'sticky' it, it would save a LOT of such post requests in threads (hahahahah! who am I kidding?!?! a lot of people still wouldn't read it, but at least there would be an easy place to send them).
