Re: Finding the Breaking Point (Hafnium)

Tamonten: HP = 85, PP = 59, EP = 64, Status = Sealing Collar, Pregnant

The moderately populated yard didn't take very long for Tamonten to travel across even with the glares that many were casting her way, but when she reached the group of would be escapees they closed up before she'd even said a word. The orc woman and the scarred night elf were sitting on a picnic table, one of the few pieces of furniture left out in the yard, while the rest had been standing around them in a loose semicircle. When Tamonten approached, however, the two wolfish women trained their gazes upon her immediately, and as she approached the pale swordswoman was able to hear the low growl that the two of them were emitting. The gruff stepped into her path as she drew near, towering over her imperiously as a similarly threatening low rumble signaled for her to stop. The violet alraune and one of the women with canine features now startlingly similar to Krig's stepped up to flank her.

Getting closer allowed Tamonten to notice a few more details about each member of the group, like the lines of green that spread throughout the alraune's body and her unnaturally pale eyes, or that the two women with the ears and tails of wolves were completely identical save for the color of their hair (and fur), one white and the other red. The orc was the most standard of them considering what little Tamonten knew of their kind, as she was athletic and muscular but lacked anything that made her appear unnatural, and the only thing that Tamonten could see that was different about the gruff was his size. The elven man was unusual, but unlike the others it didn't seem to have any supernatural source, as his body was covered with intricately inscribed scars.

"What do you want, demon?" the man grumbled darkly, and as there were no guards within earshot (as far as Tamonten could tell at least) she delivered her message. Raised eyebrows greeted her announcement, and the alraune was the first to respond, speaking in a low hiss; "What makes you think we need your help to get out of here? You could be a spy for the harpy!" The crimson haired wolf sister interjected; "We saw you talking to Varthic..... *Sniff* *Sniff* Half blood.... Definitely demon... Untrustworthy..." The other sister quickly spoke up in turn; "But half human too... What's the harm in hearing what she's got to say?" The darker one growled again, and then the half dozen centered their attention fully onto Tamonten, waiting.

Re: Finding the Breaking Point (Hafnium)

The swordswoman crossed her arms defiantly and stood as still as a stone statue as she was run through the group's suspicions. In truth, it was a pose that showed far more confidence than she had. With one on every side of her, the gruff much larger than her and most of the rest looking at least on par with her fighting ability, it was an tactically poor position to be in. The pale girl would have rated herself as having a fighting chance if she still had her greatsword, it might have been possible to incapacitate the gruff and make the rest lose heart with steel in hand. But she didn't, and her talent with her bare hands was far lesser than that with her blade, so her only option would have been to flee if things turned ugly.

Still, she couldn't afford to appear weak before the group or all the people watching her would think as much. And that would be an invitation to see how many attacks she could withstand before eventually faltering and breaking. "I am not a demon, I am a human," Tamonten snapped when the group had concluded, finding something that she truly felt indignity about. "I was possessed several years ago and came to Artmirst seeking the cure," she continued, much more calmly. "But I'm putting aside that particular goal in favor of slaying Elawdrin."

"I'm not asking that you trust me with anything--I've let more than a few people down over these past few days." The dragoness, probably even then glaring in her general direction, was at the forefront of those memories, but she had also almost gotten Krig raped, and might have abandoned the woman who had come to save her lover and her if she had been capable of doing so before guilt overtook her. There were the lives she had inadvertently caused to be snuffed out as well, the demonic footsoldiers. Finally, but far from the the smallest thing weighing on the manacled warrior's conscience, was the matter of Krig's child, even then within her and reliant on her for protection, a protection that she wouldn't be able to offer if she were to give birth in the prison. "And I cannot defend Varthic, as I had to beat him unconscious the first time we met. Frankly, Elawdrin has threatened one of the people most important to me and threatened my child as well, and I'm not sure there's any redemption for what she made me do, so I intend to kill her or die trying."

"I will make my attempt in mere days, whether we meet any sort of agreement or not. But surely you can see the benefit of the guards being split between stopping you and stopping me and any I can rally from getting to Elawdrin." Tamonten awaited their responses in that same defiant posture, thoroughly ready for the possibility of them attacking her. She briefly considered asking about the harpy, as the figure was probably yet another who would be more hindrance than help in her efforts, but decided to wait and see if she could earn any trust before inquiring in that direction.

Talking is a free action, so she'll also use Full Defense!

Re: Finding the Breaking Point (Hafnium)

Tamonten: HP = 85, PP = 59, EP = 64, Status = Sealing Collar, Pregnant

Tamonten's claim that she was human was met with more than a few skeptical looks from those around her, including a laugh from the elven man that was only just barely short of being derisive. Her explanation as to why she was human, however, caused them to glance at one another in surprise, and the elf leaned forward, offering her a lopsided grin as he asked; "If you were possessed... Why in the hell would you come to this demon-infested pit to get yourself un-possessed?" The other potential escapees looked somewhat curious as to the answer to that question themselves, and they gazed at Tamonten as they waited for an answer.

The look of shame and understanding that swept over several of their faces when Tamonten spoke of Elawdrin and what she'd forced the pale swordswoman to do was not something that could be convincingly be faked, however, and the ones that had come to flank her stepped away, giving Tamonten some room to breath and signalling that the threat of violence had passed. There was a pause as they exchanged looks following her fairly logical argument towards assistance, and the elf who was apparently their spokesman said; "Just so we're clear, we only want to get out of here. If you want to go after that black winged harpy, you're probably not going to be getting much help from us. We won't grudge you the distraction, and we'll do what we can to take out some of the guards ourselves, but.... I don't know if you really understand what you're getting yourself into by going after her. She's a fallen angel... One of the most powerful beings in all creation, and she's a malignant one at that. The question that you need to ask yourself is.... Is your vengeance worth the risk of a whole lot more than your life?"

He settled back, and his comrades assumed more relaxed positions once more, leaving Tamonten to stand before them even as the massive gruff lumbered aside to keep watch, the wolf women doing the same only looking in different directions. "If you're going for Elawdrin, I'm in!" the orc woman grunted darkly, her eyes fiery and threatening. "That one needs her feathers plucked... And maybe her head ripped off, after I pick out her organs one at a time. And her eyes. I've got dibs on her eyes." The orc stated every word in a strict, matter of fact tone, as if she were discussing a business deal with Tamonten, "I don't care if you're working with the demon prince and his pet buffoon. When the blood starts flowing, I'll come and find you. The harpy took my sword, and my armor, and I aim to have them back first. I'll meet you in the armory, if you're going there, or outside of her dungeon if you're not."

Re: Finding the Breaking Point (Hafnium)

"Would you believe that a naked, and pleasantly curvy, I might add, green woman pointed me in this general direction after I took care of a tree problem for her?" The swordswoman asked. Her version of the story, though true, was more intended to help ease a little more of the edge off of the meeting, since the group was taking relatively well to her explanation, than to serve as any in-depth and factual account of the tale. "Because it's true. There was even a wild party to celebrate the felling of the tree." More orgies than parties but she didn't need to expand on that point. "And another for my leaving. And another... just because, I guess. In hindsight I'm beginning to think that she may have just really enjoyed parties. She intended on me finding the Lady of Acheron more than a tour of the prison life, though."

The look of genuine sympathy bothered the pale girl more than it comforted her. Would that they could have understood each others' plights and entered into a pseudo-alliance for any other cause. Even more reason for the black-hearted warden to pay for her crimes. Still, when they relaxed she did much the same, even if she felt anything but relaxed. Her arms dropped to her sides and she stood calmly and easily in front of the group. By that point she was well beyond being worried about her own nudity -- though she did hope to one day break her worrying streak of waking up without pants -- beyond the concerning ease of access it might offer attackers.

"Not just vengeance, justice." She corrected, slightly numbed but refusing to appear daunted by the prospect of facing a fallen angel. As foolish as it was, the idea that the 'harpy' wasn't an additional threat but was a nickname for Elawdrin herself actually heartened the warrior some. And she had defeated the tree, after all, and it had overcome Kasumi. Tamonten wasn't quick to forget that she'd had a group then, but she had grown stronger too. They weren't much to hold onto as confidence boosts, and it seemed more likely that she'd lose than she'd win, but there were too many reasons not to shirk the coming confrontation and simply escape with the rest. "And safety. To escape and leave her alive is to worry for the rest of my days that she'll track me and my loved ones down. As I've said, Elawdrin has already threatened to hunt down the father of my child and probably has her mutts doing so even now. I'll fight to the bitter end if I must in order to prevent her from succeeding and from continuing her foul practices but I wouldn't ask for anyone who hadn't volunteered to follow me in doing so."

"I'm not too picky about how she's slain. I would deliver her head to her kin if she falls as a sign of her end, but I think it's far more important to worry about the logistics of actually ending her first." She stated with a small nod to the orc. "I'm going to need my sword if I stand any chance against her, so armory it is. If my own plan succeeds, I intend on unlocking the cells of anyone who isn't broken or a threat in their own right so I'm sure we'll meet eventually, one way or the other. I'll offer the same service to any of your group if I don't fail."

Re: Finding the Breaking Point (Hafnium)

Tamonten: HP = 85, PP = 59, EP = 64, Status = Sealing Collar, Pregnant

The group assembled around her gave Tamonten a fairly wide range of looks based on her explanation as to why she'd come to be in their midst, and the elf supplied; "Sounds like it... I was wondering why you were so comfortable being naked around a bunch of strangers. Extended time around the fey explains that well enough." Her clarification about her intentions to bring their twisted warden to justice was met by a skeptical noise from several of the group, but the elf simply replied; "Vengeance, justice, it matters little. You're still going up against pretty long odds. It's your choice though, and I'm sure you'll find a few others happy to do the same, but you'll have to find them first." Her words regarding the continuing threat that the fallen angel posed to them were met with a collective frown, and a series of uncomfortable shifts, but no words were spoken on them.

The orc, in the meantime, listened to Tamonten's reply with the apparent patience of a six year old, and then grunted; "Know many angels do yah? I don't care where the rest of her ends up... But I want her eyes. I'll find you in the armory when the blood starts flowing, but I won't wait long." That seemed to be about all that she had to say on the subject, and the rest of her would-be allies lapsed into contemplative silence. If Tamonten had anything else to say, she was free to do so, or she could go off and spend the rest of her indeterminate amount of time outside however she liked. Recruiting more for her and Varthic's escape plan was always an option, as was going over to face the woman that Elawdrin had forced her to rape, or she could slink off to a corner or confront one of those that apparently intended to rape her. The choice was hers to make.

Re: Finding the Breaking Point (Hafnium)

The swordswoman could only give a final nod in response to the elf. His words were true, the odds were heavily against her, but it was as she had already said to Varthic upon their first meeting, if she only did what was right when it was easy or fought when an opponent was vastly weaker than her it would have made her a coward. "Armory it is," she offered plainly, as much a reaffirmation of her intent to see her plan through as it was a confirmation as to where she would meet the orc. With that, she turned and walked away from the group with a determined gait.

With her small success under her belt, Tamonten was left with the question of what to do with her remaining time. The most obvious answer was to try to recruit others but that was easier said than done. Attempting to separate those who would be of aid from those who were broken and, even worse, those who would be a hindrance was a struggle all its own. There was, of course, one group who would almost certainly side against the angel... but they seemed just as likely to side against her and the pale girl wasn't sure she could face them yet without being crushed by the guilt of her actions.

Briefly she considered engaging in martial exercises as a means of keeping herself to par, that was quickly dismissed when she remembered the hungry stares of would-be assailants. The manacled warrior certainly didn't want to expose them to her fighting style so that they could better prepare to attack her. There was another, less obvious thing that she wanted to practice, though, so that she could be more prepared for the coming confirmation: the use of her extra appendages. As a bonus, if done carefully it would allow her to scout out those who might join her plan to slay Elawdrin and allow her to keep an eye out for anybody eying her.

She carefully padded her way to a mostly empty spot in the yard, well away from the wrestler and succubus and none too near the dragonkin, keeping her distance from the other prisoners. Once she found such a spot, she knelt on the ground and began the arduous task of attempting to illicit more than a twitch from her wings and tail when she attempted to move them. In-between her efforts, Tamonten kept an eye out for the prisoners who seemed more interested in more traditional exercise, as opposed to animalistic rutting. She also kept on guard for potential attackers, standing up and preparing to defend herself if any began to approach her.

Practice flying and tail shenanigans! Try to remember the faces of any exercising inmates who aren't actively attempting to rape people, that she may sort them out from the broken ones if she gets the keys.

Also, stop that and use full defense if anyone approaches her.

Re: Finding the Breaking Point (Hafnium)

Tamonten: HP = 85, PP = 59, EP = 64, Status = Sealing Collar, Pregnant

The orc nodded back, "Until then." The group of like-minded prisoners allowed Tamonten to part from their company in peace, but her determined walk away was followed by the gazes of much of the yard, some curious and some with far less innocent intentions evident on their faces. Those that watched with hungry eyes began to move as Tamonten went to an empty portion of the yard, both the succubus and the wrestler that Varthic had warned her about stalked her, but there was another. The green-scaled dragoness that she had seen comforting the woman that Elawdrin had forced her to rape circled with the others as she began attempting to get her wings and tail under control. None of them were obvious about it, but that their movements about the yard kept them at a near-constant distance from the pale swordswoman, and their concentration diverged from her only enough to keep from falling prey to those that might stalk them.

Getting her added appendages to move on command proved surprisingly easy once she got them to move at all. After she learned to make them twitch, getting them to move in more useful ways was a quick enough accomplishment, and while they hardly felt familiar to her so soon, Tamonten at least got them moving on demand by the time one of the circling predators decided to move in on her. The succubus was the first to bite the hook, as it were, and when she opted to break the stand-off, it was in a fairly peaceful manner. She simply turned towards Tamonten and walked straight up to her, barely giving the warrior enough time to adopt her readied stance before she was just barely more than ten feet away.

It was at that distance that the demon stopped to gaze at Tamonten, her expression perfectly blank, for several moments. The whole of the prison yard had turned to watch the stand off, silence reigning as even the guards turned to look on curiously, by the time the allegedly dangerous woman said; "So... Have you gotten into the air yet? They look large enough to support you."

Re: Finding the Breaking Point (Hafnium)

Any chance the pale girl might have had to feel elation at her quick accomplishments was cut short at the succubus's approach. She stood up quickly and nimbly, though almost not quickly enough. The girl assumed a stance that was anything but welcoming, with her body as rigid as a cornered cat. There was nothing welcoming to be found in her expression, either. Her face was stony and disdainful as she regarded the apparent bravest of her stalkers. It almost threw her off guard that the green dragonkin was among them, but that was something to be dealt with after the woman who had already approached.

"No," she replied curtly to the demoness's question. Tamonten felt numb under the attention of most of the courtyard and the guards but she couldn't let herself weaken. The situation was her first impression on all those who hadn't yet dealt with her, so to speak. Appearing weak then would have drastic consequences for the rest of her stay. She kept herself under a careful control and grasped onto a small tinge of anger to keep herself going strong. The swordswoman needed to assert her own dominance over the situation and her defiance toward the guards. "And I would recommend you keep that distance away from me or it's going to cost you. I punched Elawdrin in the face, do not think I'll shy away from giving you the same service. Especially since I am told that you are just as bad if not worse. That in this horrible place you have actually flourished and allied yourself with her."

"Now, no small talk. What do you want from me? Answer or leave." The swordswoman remained tensed as she awaited the response, fully ready to carry out her earlier threat if the demoness took even another step toward her.

Talk while maintaining full defense! But if she tries to move closer, punch a bitch instead of full defense! If somebody else moves closer, uh... Gonna need to figure that one out if it happens. >.>

Re: Finding the Breaking Point (Hafnium)

Tamonten: HP = 85, PP = 59, EP = 64, Status = Sealing Collar, Pregnant

"Going for the whole, defiant until the end schtick, huh?" the demoness replied sardonically, a tone of resignation detectable in her voice. "You know there's really on point to it... Right? You're not getting out here, not until Elawdrin lets you go," the demoness spoke the fallen angel's name with a hint of reverence, or at the very least a great deal more respect than Tamonten had heard anyone else use when referring to their jailor. "What do I want from you? I want from you... What I want from all of the others. To accept your natural state here, and to embrace it. Others here have done so, and they have been made happier for it by far."

She gestured toward one of the other prisoners, a woman who looked more monster than human now, with her body sprouting numerous tentacles and her skin turned a deep, charcoal black. "Is this not your natural state?" the succubus said as she gazed at the cringing figure to which she had indicated, "Weak... Helpless... You mortals are so petty... And tiny.... And you do so little with the choices allotted to you! It is clear that your kind are unable to choose their own fate without destroying themselves.... Or at least, your lesser heritage." The demoness offered Tamonten a malevolent grin, "That we share blood is clear... And a true demon knows when to bow to their betters~" She hadn't yet moved any closer to Tamonten, but she had the presence of mind to recognize Tamonten's preparations for violence, as she appeared just as tense as the pale swordswoman that she faced.

None of the others that had been stalking Tamonten had opted to step in as yet. The brute was standing back and watching, his expression wary, and the dragoness was scowling darkly as if she expected to be deprived of a treat at any second. "You will not escape this place, no matter your skills or your allies," the demoness restated calmly, her voice betraying no hints of her preparations for violence. "If you wish to survive here, then you would be best served to do as I have done, and wait for her to fulfill her purpose. When our master has no further need of us, we will be free to go. Whether you leave this place whole of mind as I will, or like that wretch over there, is up to you."

Re: Finding the Breaking Point (Hafnium)

The demoness's reply was not entirely unpredicted, even if in the end expecting it didn't help the swordswoman. The pale girl trembled with barely restrained fury which only grew with each sentence directed toward her. By the time her first would-be attacker had finished her fists were clenched and she was ready to punch the other woman out regardless of how well she had followed the warnings. Yet, for all her fury and all her desire to inflict violence on the demoness, when the woman had finished something else took hold in her heart. A sense of calm washed over Tamonten.

She sighed and released her fists. It wasn't worth it to be angry at the succubus, that would be playing into her hands. No, it wasn't worth it to give the woman's words any heed at all, really. She took a deep breath and allowed her fists and body to loosen up before exhaling it in another sigh, further calming herself. Not that she was by any means lowering her guard, but it didn't pay to be so tense. Her expression became neutral as she regarded and pondered the demonic woman for several silent moments. Maybe it was time for a change of tactic to try to catch her would-be assailant off guard.

"Maybe you're right," she suggested casually, as if the two had been holding a friendly conversation. "Who knows, maybe by next week I'll be a quivering slave counting the time eagerly based on how long it's been since I've last come. The future is funny like that." She adopted a mirthless little smile, the same that she had worn in Elawdrin's presence. "I think I'll take my chances. You have no idea how many of these little speeches I get. All about how I should accept the inherent foulness of a situation and simply make the best of it. About how even if I try to change something it will never work and how I should just save myself the trouble. I've done pretty well at proving those speeches false so far." The swordswoman shook her head. "No, I think I'm okay with my odds."

"But what do I know? Even with all my changes, I'm just a human. The only piece of demon I've got in me is in my arm and I intend on getting rid of that. I could never have the demonic wisdom to bow down like a loyal, obedient dog to anybody who happens to manage to get a collar on my neck. Like you said, I'm just a petty mortal. I'd rather break than bend." Tamonten wore a wide smile by then, though she was not so good an actor that her smile came anywhere close to reaching her eyes. Most of what was keeping her calm at that very moment was her thinly veiled taunting of the demoness. "I'd hate to waste anymore of your time, so you can go spread the good word to someone else. I've apparently got other appointments. Word of warning: as enlightening as our conversation has been, I'm still going to need you to never come any closer than that to me or I'll have to defend myself. Can't have you trying to break me before Elawdrin gets her chance, after all. Consider it my first step toward accepting my place here."

She folded her arms over her chest as she waited for the succubus to follow her instructions, but remained on guard. Despite her very thin effort at courtesy, Tamonten was more ready than ever to punch the succubus were she to violate the swordswoman's previous warnings.

Talk some more while maintaining full defense! Prepare for bitch punching just in case she moves closer though! (Again, if one of Tamonten's other stalkers starts moving in, gonna need to figure that one out when it happens)

Sadist Pleasure! 3 + 9 = 12 PP damage.

Tamonten's change of tone turned the demon's smirk into a sad frown, but she listened to the swordswoman despite obviously not liking what she was hearing. "Perhaps you have proved them false up until now... I don't know. But this time... This place.... Is different. You have no idea of the kind of power that you're up against," she said simply, but then broke out into a smile. "Oh.... But I have so much more to teach you!" she purred softly, taking a slow, seductive step forward.

"Fret not little dove~ I take nothing but joy in giving my lessons... To lost little birds like yourself!" she said, and then suddenly lunged forward.... Or feinted doing so, as Tamonten spotted several strands of writhing flesh suddenly darting for her legs at the corner of her vision. Avoiding the tendrils was childs play once she'd noticed them, and it was the other woman's turn to be surprised as Tamonten countered the attack with a quick jab that struck her directly in the face.

The whole yard watched as the predatory demoness was sent reeling back and dropped to her knees, nursing her nose as blood dripped from it and onto the broken pavement on which they stood. She was momentarily stunned, leaving Tamonten with an opportunity to do almost whatever she liked with her, all while the other prisoners and the guards watched on, the latter portion of the yard's population looking none too happy with the outcome of that particular encounter. The wrestler was grinning sadistically, and her other principal stalker, the green dragon, was simply watching stoically.

Re: Finding the Breaking Point (Hafnium)

"I don't think I learned anything, but it was a lot of fun." The swordswoman mocked her would-be assailant following the quick jab which had sent the demoness to her hands and knees. She took perhaps just a little too much joy from the punch and its aftermath, even beyond the sensations that had coursed through her warped body. It had been almost therapeutic to thwart her attacker and dish out a little bit of harm alongside that. She decided to cement the memory for the woman with a little bit more of both. "Normally this is where I would offer you a chance to surrender and settle things peacefully, but I think we can safely skip that." True to her word, Tamonten approached the stunned woman without delay.

"You should've been the one to save yourself the trouble. You should've given up and avoided trying to change me." She had continued to speak as she closed the short distance created by her earlier attack. "No matter how foul you are, I would've left you alone. You never needed to go through this. But now you've involved me." Once she had reached the succubus, she briefly knelt in order to grab the succubus by her horns. The pale girl hauled her stunned assailant to her feet, joining her in standing up. Without warning or relaxing her grip, she kneed the succubus in order to dissuade her from any ideas she might be given from their close proximity.

"Your thinking is flawed," Tamonten stated as she forced the woman to straighten again. "I mean, there's a demon in my arm. By your logic, if I use it to knock you out am I something more than you? Am I better?" She released the hold of her blackened, shaking arm on the succubus's convenient horns and cocked it back. To end their physical exchange, she punched the succubus in the face as hard as she could with her demonic arm, letting her pale hand loosen and allowing the demoness to drop to the ground in turn. "No, it just means I'm getting really good at punching you assholes! Stay down or I'll do it again."

She would quickly back away from the succubus, who was probably already unconscious, in an effort to avoid causing the guards to intervene. "And since you've involved me in your foulness, I'm going to stay involved. If I hear or see that you've attacked anyone else during my stay here, I'll be the one to give you a lesson," she announced, not really caring whether the woman was coherent enough to hear it or not.

With the exchange all but over, Tamonten chose to hold her ground in case another of her stalkers decided to try their hand or the succubus proved too resilient. She tried to keep an eye on the blackened, tentacled woman as well, wanting to at least try to approach her after she felt clear enough, if only for lack of any other plans.

Tamo uses Flurry of Blows (2), Shattering Blow on both, and Trip on the second attack on yon stunned succubus. (Would probably normally use trip on both, but fluffff). Not trying to kill her. Can't afford to get in trouble with Elawdrin and the guards quite yet.

Attack: +48 = 66 [Base] - 8 [Flurry] - 10 [Shattering]
Damage: 1d8 + 21 = 36 [Base] - 5 [Flurry] - 10 [Shattering]
Deals x2 Damage on both, second attack automatically hits and knocks her prone.

Tamonten: HP = 85, PP = 27/59, EP = 64, Status = Sealing Collar, Pregnant

Tamo punches a bitch in the nose. Twice. With Shattering Blow on both and Trip on the second.
Attacks: Hits.
Damage: 6 + 21 = 27 * 2 = 54 damage per hit.
Resistance: Tamo wins. Ye succubus is one with the ground.
Sadist Pleasure! 1 + 9 = 10 PP damage.

The demoness on her knees before the swordswoman merely groaned in stunned pain at Tamonten's assessment that she'd be skipping the offer for peace characteristically made at this point. Lifting the demoness to her feet by her horns, Tamonten continued to speak to the stunned woman even as she drove a knee up into her stomach, causing her would-be assailant to let out a pained gasp and double over in pain. Straightened again, the demoness was gasping for breath when the pale girl's blackened fist smashed into her face, cutting Tamonten's hand on the woman's front teeth and causing a small rain of shattered bits of teeth and blood to cascade over the ground around them. The succubus dropped into a broken heap, her assorted limbs splayed about her, and was apparently unconscious for the rest of Tamonten's speech.

A glance around the yard saw that the guards had moved closer, but they held their distance and merely scowled darkly at her. The large man that and the dragoness were still circling slowly, but the former was smirking delightedly at her while the latter only gazed at her with a frown. The rest of the yard gradually lost interest as the spectacle was apparently at an end, and as only a few had been within hearing distance. A few moments later one of the guards strode up and retrieved the battered demoness, grumbling and hauling the unconscious women off to who knows where, and then Tamonten ceased to be the center of attention. Her other stalkers were holding their distance for the moment, and that left Tamonten free to do as she liked.

Pano and Varthic still hadn't reappeared, and it was about then that Tamonten noted that the yard curved around the edge of the prison building, leading to a section of indeterminate size that she hadn't even seen yet. The black-skinned women was one of the few that hadn't apparently noticed Tamonten's encounter with the demoness, as she was busy rocking herself back and forth and whimpering gibberish to herself. The tendrils sprouting from her back all suddenly pointed towards Tamonten as the warrior drew near, and she stiffened and turned her head to watch her approach with eyes that were milky white.

Re: Finding the Breaking Point (Hafnium)

The swordswoman watched the succubus with disgust as she was carried away. The whole encounter hard further soured her against demons in general and she certainly took no pity in the damage she had done. Faced with a common enemy that they might rally together to defeat and the succubus had chosen to revere the black-hearted angel and impede attempts against her. Although, as much as the pale girl hated to admit it to herself, there didn't appear to be any shortage of her own kind who had done more or less the same thing, even if it they were pursuing selfish reasons. An apparently human man was among her chief stalkers, after all.

At least she could understand the dragoness tailing her. The green-scaled woman was probably seeking vengeance, which was understandable given what Tamonten had inflicted upon her friend. As much as the warrior wanted to scream at the woman that it hadn't been her fault, that Elawdrin had done something to her which had sapped her of her will, she didn't. As painful as it was to think about, even though the evil angel had been the catalyst it was Tamonten herself who had done the deed. It was her weakness that had allowed it to be possible. If only she had been stronger... The train of thought left her hoping that the dragonkin didn't come seeking revenge anytime soon, as she had no idea how she'd handle it.

She moved quickly toward the woman the succubus had indicated once she realized none of her other stalkers were interested in approaching her quite yet, if only to flee from introspection. Somewhere along the way she filed the thought that there was more to the courtyard away for later consideration. If she were to be honest, Tamonten had very little hopes for approaching the tentacled woman and was only doing so because she wasn't familiar enough with the other captives to determine who else might be safe to talk to. Still, it couldn't hurt to try.

"I mean you no harm," she announced to the tensed, tentacled, and warped woman. The swordswoman lifted her hands and showed them to be empty as a gesture of peace. It felt a bit silly once she thought about it. After all, where would she have hidden a weapon? Regardless, she maintained her non-aggressive posture and kept her distance as a show of nonviolence. "I just wanted to say that you should ignore what the succubus said; she was kind of a bitch." It felt a bit silly to say that then, as the charcoal-skinned woman apparently had ignored everything and may not have even been capable of understanding. "And if she or anybody else gives you any trouble, tell me and I'll see about giving them a bruise or two, okay?"

Tamonten chose to remain on her guard as she extended the olive branch. Not so much for the warped woman as for those still looking to attack her, though that wasn't to say she was entirely unwary of the tendrils.

Talk some more. Gotta keep that full defense up so she doesn't get surprise hugged by the wrestler.

Ye tentacly woman tries to grab Tamo for some tender lovings!
Attack: Miss.

Ye wrestler sneaks up and grabs ye tentacle-girl!
Stealth: Success.
Attack: Automatic Hit.
He then chucks her over yonder.
Grapple: He wins!
Damage: Doesn't matter unless Tamo opts to beat her up.

The dark skinned woman twitched and tilted her head at Tamonten, her white eyes staring without blinking at the swordswoman as she made her peaceful gesture and then spoke. She crouched silently and seemed to listen, but Tamonten didn't miss the tension in the tendrils sprouting from the strange woman's back, nor the slow shift in her stance to a prepared crouch. As such, the swordswoman was able to predict and avoid it when the corrupted female suddenly lunged forward, arms and tentacles reaching in an attempt to grab the pale swordswoman. Her lunge landed her on her feet only about a yard away from Tamonten, and she immediately turned to pursue her prey further, but then the white-haired warrior noticed something that the woman attacking her apparently did not.

The human man that Varthic had identified as a wrestler stepped up behind the dark-skinned girl and casually lifted her from the ground with one arm. She thrashed and let out a high, piercing shriek, but the man just laughed and chucked her a good twenty feet aside. She landed on her side and rolled, skidding across the stone ground, but if the throw harmed her at all, Tamonten couldn't detect it in the way she moved. The girl shot back up to her feet in a split second, but then she simply stood there, her head and her tentacles swiveling about. She hadn't landed near anyone, and after a moment she settled back down to a sitting position and resumed what she'd been doing before Tamonten had approached her, rocking back and forth while gibbering wordlessly to herself.

"You must watch out for them, comrade~" the heavily muscled man said in a deep voice and a thick accent. "You are new here.... Is not so good place, but is nice to see new faces, yeah? I'm Nellic, and I saw that you met the harpy worshiper over there.... Very nice work!" He stepped forward and held out a single massive hand, which was almost large enough that he might be able to close the fingers of one hand all the way around her head if he wanted to, and said; "Tis pleasure to meet you... What is your name, comrade?"

Re: Finding the Breaking Point (Hafnium)

Well, that could have gone worse.

Overall, though, it had raised more questions than answers. The tentacled woman's reaction was unsurprising, if still saddening. The wrestler's intervention was just plain surprising. Even after her stunned silence had dissipated, the pale girl still needed to blink a few times just to make sure she hadn't hit her head or had been drugged during the attempted attack. "Tamonten," she finally responded. "The pleasure is mine in this case, I think."

Tamonten moved her pale hand to accept the handshake without thinking. Before her hand met with his, however, she paused, and her arm fell bonelessly to her side. "I mean no offense. Many have attacked me recently, some have even been polite in their efforts. You saved me, but it's been a hard few days and..." She struggled to come up with some clumsy answer as to why she couldn't risk shaking his hand, rather than the truth which was that it looked like he could pick her up by said appendage and slam her around like a ragdoll. When none came to mind, she shook her head. "Okay, you know what? I'm going to try blunt honesty, that seems to work every once in a while."

"When I came in, someone warned me that you would try to induct me into a... harem. Believe it or not, I still don't mean any offense, I'm just trying to be honest. You've defended me and been more kind than anyone I've yet to talk to here. You're certainly not acting the part of a prison yard rapist. But... It's really hard, you know? Before the events that brought me here I felt invincible. Right up until I was proven wrong." Her gang rape at the hands of the hellhounds was still all too fresh in her mind. It made her grimace. It might have made her break down and bawl if she didn't have the knowledge that Krig's child was in her to bolster her determination to stand up and escape. "Now I feel so vulnerable," she admitted with perhaps just a bit too much honesty.

"So, I'll offer you this instead, Nellic," she said before giving him a short bow. She couldn't exactly curtsy or perform any other sort of salute without it looking ridiculous. "And I wouldn't mind a bit of conversation if I haven't offended you. Assuming you're not actually here to rape me, of course," she added with a small, forced grin. It was meant to be a joke, even if it came off less so than she had intended. The swordswoman was even then prepared to put some distance between herself and the meaty wrestler if Nellic tried to grab her.

Full defense forever! Tamo must avoid prison bitch status!

Tamo gains 2 exp by the way!

Tamonten's refusal to shake his hand caused the big man to frown, but he lowered his hand and listened to her explanation rather than take any hostile action. Somewhat more gruff than he'd been initially, he nonetheless replied; "Eez no problem comrade Tamonten, as you say, there are many here that would take advantage of such an opportunity. I can tell you for sure that your friend was.... Mistaken..... The people around me stay around me because I protect them from the others, and from the harpy's crows. We have enough problem here without attacking one another like animal!" He glanced over at the door through which they'd been forcibly filed earlier, through which the succubus that Tamonten had knocked out was then being dragged by the still-grumbling guard.

After a brief pause during which that door was shut, he glanced back at Tamonten and grinned again, the boisterousness of his voice returning as he said; "You are not only one who was knocked down a peg before coming here! Ha, before the harpy caught me, I was undefeated champion of all Crolia! When she came down from sky, onto the field where I'd beaten bunch of hellhounds to death, I thought help was on way.... I was mistaken, as you can guess. And then..." The man trailed off, his expression darkening suddenly as he briefly stared off into space. His grin came back a moment later, however, and with his expression once more brightened he issued another sharp laugh and said; "Bah, this is history... For now, we have bigger concerns. I assume the dragon is following you for some reason? Those three have kept to themselves since they got here, and the blue one wasn't pregnant yesterday."

Re: Finding the Breaking Point (Hafnium)

"Thank you," she replied. It probably sounded vague, but in truth she was thanking him for everything. For helping her, for understanding, and for talking to her. Varthic was useful but the wrestler seemed the sanest and friendliest of those she had talked to. It was depressing to realize that almost anyone she associated with in the courtyard would have been brought to the prison in the same way she had. Even the charcoal-skinned woman who had tried to attack her had probably suffered greatly before her mind left her. Still, the knowledge that there was someone out there who would say aloud that the inmates had a common enemy and shouldn't bicker amongst themselves bolstered her spirit. She couldn't exactly let her guard down completely, though at least she had found some sort of window to sanity.

"You can probably guess why she's after me," she replied sadly when the subject came about. The boneless feeling in her arm spread to the rest of her body. "Her friend was my introduction to the nature of this place. Our foul warden did something to me and when she was done I felt for her what I felt for my lover before I was captured. She pushed me and I wasn't strong enough to fight back, I couldn't resist her command..." She felt so numb. How could she ever make right what she had done? The swordswoman was sure she would never earn the dragon's forgiveness. How could she earn redemption after taking the woman's maidenhood and impregnating her against her will?

"I imagine she seeks vengeance and I cannot blame her. I know she will come eventually and I will try to explain my side of the story. I will try to earn her forgiveness, but I know that if it were someone close to me who had suffered what I did then I probably wouldn't offer as much." Tamonten still wasn't sure how she'd deal with the green dragoness when she came. How could she dare to defend herself when her attacker was seeking vengeance for her doing such a horrible thing? A sudden desire to be as strong as the wrestler must have been to subscribe to whatever belief allowed him such a cheery demeanor and willingness to protect others flitted through the pale girl's mind. "I'm not sure that even I should stop her from taking her revenge, it's something that I've surely earned."

Re: Finding the Breaking Point (Hafnium)

"Mmmm..." the wrestler grumbled softly as Tamonten relayed the reason behind the dragon's pursuit of her. His expression had soured at the word "introduction" and hadn't turned any better since, though it hadn't turned any worse either. He listened to her without interruption, and gave a grunted sigh after she finished. Reaching up, he scratched the stubble at his chin and gazed at her for a moment, looking as if he was pondering something, and then said; "Aye... You aren't the only one the harpy's victimized.... And she will pay for that!

"But... You should not let that woman hurt you. We have bigger problem than personal grudges here. All of us have been made to do awful things by that witch, and we shouldn't be taking it out on each other when there's a black winged harpy with perfectly breakable bones flitting about!" He paused and offered Tamonten another broad grin, "Here, we talk to her!" He turned about immediately, his fairly impressive manhood swinging in the motion as he called over to the green-scaled woman that was watching them; "OI! SCALY GIRL! COME HERE! NOW!"

The dragoness, along with the rest of the yard, looked extremely confused by the large man's behavior. His call had attracted more or less every eye in the yard, and after taking a moment to glance around the green dragoness slowly strode forward, giving Tamonten a closer view of her for the first time. She was built along the same lines as her sister, at least judging by the wide hips and the same general shape, but she also seemed to be a good bit more muscular than her sister judging by the chords of tense flesh visible under her skin, whereas her blue-skinned relation was much softer. The woman came up until she was just out of arms reach and then tensed, just as Tamonten had when the man (and the succubus before him) had approached her. "What.... Do you want?" she asked guardedly, and Nellic turned towards Tamonten and smiled confidently, "Go on comrade!" he said quietly, "Talk! Build bridge of peace!" The dragoness' gaze turned to one of raw venom when she caught sight of Tamonten, but Nellic didn't catch that as he watched the pale swordswoman expectantly.

Re: Finding the Breaking Point (Hafnium)

Perhaps she had deemed Nellic an island of reason just a few moments too early.

The swordswoman was initially too busy attempting to shrink away from the dragonkin's venomous gaze to harbor any conscious aggravation toward the wrestler for his part in the situation she found herself in. She also found herself preoccupied by a concerted effort to avoid meeting the woman's eyes. The pale girl did find the time to imagine that Nellic and Pano might be good friends, if they weren't already, given their combined aptitude in flagging her amidst the rest of the prison so that the dragon trio could fix her with their vengeful glares.

For several moments, despite Nellic's urgings, Tamonten stood frozen. Talk? What words could she muster up that would ever make what she had done forgivable? But, at the same time, she couldn't run or flee from the confrontation that the wrestler had forced upon her, despite her desire to do just that. There was really only one thing she could say. "I..." She trailed off, suddenly confronted by the memories of her raping the blue dragonkin and failing to find the strength to say her words aloud in her first go.

The swordswoman had to say it, though. Whatever else she felt she had to do to redeem herself, she had to at least manage to speak to one of the three apparent companions. Tamonten forced herself to meet the dragon's eyes. "I am sorry," she mournfully started. "For what I did to her, for what I stole from her, I am sorry. I know it probably doesn't mean much, but I never wanted to do any of it." She wanted to go on. She wanted to protest that she had resisted even when the angel had threatened her unborn child. Even to proclaim that she had defiantly punched Elawdrin at her first offer before the fallen woman used her magics. But she didn't say any of those things. Instead, she only silently waited for the dragonkin's own reply.

Say apology. No full defense this round.
