Because the thrill is in the chase, for both the hunter and the prey.

Besides, playing a virgin route is not the same as no erotic content. The better games will have H-scenes regardless of route, and I'd bet a lot of people playing games in this way will treat protagonist virginity loss similar to a game over in a game over rape game i.e. watch the scene, then reload and try again.

A lot of the time its just having the choice between your protagonist becoming jaded/a slut, or being able to see every single scene as a traumatic virgin loss scene. They probably arent actually avoiding scenes as opposed to just loading a save.

Dark Elf Historia + other games by Kagura games - these all follow the same general path though, lose once to unlock Battle fucks and NTR and other type paths otherwise you just play a wholsome MC doing different mission types.
