I'm sueing you for having such an awkward name in the shoutbox. Whenever we try to greet you, we don't know how with out sounding like we're repeating ourselves, and if we just say your name,...

GRAAAAAAAAAAAARH!!!!!!!!!!!! IT'S SO GOD DAMNED CONFUSING!!!

Re: Iggy sues Hi_There

But his screen name is too confusing in the shoutbox.

Re: Iggy sues Hi_There

I'll be the defense. Refer to him as HT and your problem will be solved.

Re: Iggy sues Hi_There

Good I bet Inc isn't biased in this case. Iggy will you defend yourself?

Re: Iggy sues Hi_There

Here I present a quote from the shoutbox:

2 Minutes Ago 18:23 Aurani
"Hi there, would you sign my petition?"

The statement starts off with "Hi there", which induces confusion as to whether Aurani is adressing Hi_there, or is she is simply greeting us before asking her question.

Aurani has misspelled Hi_there! name making it seem a greeting. If everyone uses HT or his full username all confusion will be solved.

Re: Iggy sues Hi_There

I'm willing to acknowledge there may be some confusion, however as long as There remains uncapitalised in gerenal messages, it would imply it's not directed specifically at HT. Furthermore, as the defence suggests, if people simply use HT or capitalise and exclamate their name, no confusion will exist.

But, not everyone uses proper spelling and grammar in the shoutbox therefore my statement stands.

Re: Iggy sues Hi_There

I myself am guilty that to, but if proper grammar is used in the shoutbox most confusion will be solved before having to bring it up.

Re: Iggy sues Hi_There

The inability for people on the internet to use proper spelling and grammar does not justify a lawsuit against a specific individual who is not even necessarily guilty of this crime.

Re: Iggy sues Hi_There

Then I withdraw my arguement...

Re: Iggy sues Hi_There

Unless you have anything more to add, I will have no choice but to rule in favour of the defence.

Re: Iggy sues Hi_There

Your Honor, if I may be permitted to speak? *Dusts off the Lawyer Fedora.*

Re: Iggy sues Hi_There

I'll allow it, proceed.

Re: Iggy sues Hi_There

Thank you, Your Honor. Now, I would argue that the nature of a name like the aforementioned username is unneeded confusion. But I believe it goes farther than what my co-counsel has stated. Not only is this an encroachment onto the public domain, but in arguing in favor of the defense, you open a door that will lead to such names as Incubi, Hosts, and others that merely lend themselves to further confusion and annoyance.

Re: Iggy sues Hi_There

Well as stated by the judge there is no law against names. Incubus and Host also came before Hi_there!

Re: Iggy sues Hi_There

Mm. While names that are close to existing members and specifically made to promote confusion would indeed cause problems, I do not feel that this particular issue falls under that category.

Re: Iggy sues Hi_There

With no further arguments, I have no choice but to rule in favour of the defence.

*slam*

Case Closed!

Re: Iggy sues Hi_There

I am somewhat disappointed that Hi one his case without even attending the trial. It almost feels like a disgrace.

*starts chewing on the gavel*
