Re: Monster Girl Quest: Paradox

Friday the 13th huh... I also feel sorry for Sugarstar :p.

Question: If you read through the english TL of MGQ trilogy, will you still be able to catch what's going on in Paradox assuming the language isn't a problem?

Is paradox just a parody or is it some alternative version of the trilogy? Is it an official sequel?

It's more like a what if, I guess? Some things in paradox never happened like they did in the trilogy, so if you played all 3 and understood it you'll notice some differences here and there.

Some say its Luka's son, some say its an alternate story. I'm japanese illiterate and google translate is half comprehendible. Also, I was wondering, Dargoth, would that include the class skill/ abilities you can set for bonuses? I hope so, all i understand is the 10% part.

It's some kind of parallel timeline.

It will tie back to the original in some way, because certain characters seem to have memories of events in the original trilogy, so either time travel or dimension-hopping shenanigans are involved.

Also, a lot of smaller HRPGs do a pretty good job of railroading you on the route you need to go. This actually takes more of the approach you'd be used to in console JRPGs in that you kinda need to find your way across the world map yourself and have the freedom to get majorly sidetracked. You can pretty easily go the wrong way and find enemies waaaaaay higher leveled than you.

(Side complaint, I find random battles infuriating and tend to refuse to play RPGS that have them nowadays, but I'm putting up with it because Monster Girl Quest)

A little stuck myself on where to go after Illiasburg. I did manage to find my way to the harpy village but couldn't find anything to do there, so I'm not sure if that's the right way to go. In a reverse twist of fate from the original series, it's the Harpies that have gone missing instead of the villagers, so I take it you need to find/save them somewhere. Though, if the game mirrors the original, then I suppose I should be looking for the 4 bandit's hideout, if they're still doing their 'bandit' thing in this timeline. Though I wouldn't be surprised if they didn't.

Where's the harpy village? I went through a cave in the west and wound up in some destroyed town/castle area and now I'm totally lost

The worst part for people who played the others and no know jap is going to be the jokes and references :( just for that i think im going to wait a little longer.

it's sort of east/northeast, there's the human village you'll be able to spot right away and then the harpy village which is the giant tree right next to it. it's at the southwest tip of a giant forest but you should spot the towns way before the rest of it.

yeah, at the moment I'm having no luck. I'm running around with a thumb up my ass not knowing where to go or what to do. I think I'll just wait for the english translation.

you have to go to the top of the tree which could be confusing since there are a few parts with signs indicating where you can go behind the tree. at the top, supposing you've made enough progress?? you'll find Nero and he'll explain what's going on and instruct you to go to the tower in the north.

Re: Monster Girl Quest: Paradox

I'm so lost, got to Illiasburg and met the rabbit girl, went to the cave in the west and wound up in what looked like a destroyed castle and some dialogue played out there's nowhere else to go it seems so I go back through the cave and wind up back near Illiasburg. At this point I'm at a complete lack of understanding on where to go next, all the surrounding areas have enemies that seem way too powerful to mess with. Do I need to grind?

this one's a bit tricky, you need to find Amila. First talk to a little girl in front of the fountain, then the a guy in the blacksmith's store, then a guy in the tool shop, then go in the alley behind that and talk to the guy hanging out at the end, THEN go to Iliasville and speak to the priest who changes jobs, THEN go back to Iliasburg and talk to the little girl again for good measure and also see the guards harassing the worm girl, THEN go to the mountain cave in the west that has 3 graves at the entrance, clear that, go back to Iliasburg, find Amila, then go all the way back to that giant black hole on the world map you'll find are called Tatarus', then go east from there and talk to a bunny girl at the inn in some town called Porno something, then go back to the Tartarus and clear that.

phew.

Re: Monster Girl Quest: Paradox

Got it, I'm guessing there's no way/some condition to recruiting the 4 bandits?

EDIT - Just got Goblin, other 3 don't seem to want to come though. Lamia has some sort of option, whereas Dragon and Vampire don't after the first conversation.

I am having an issue saving the game. It lets me save in the beginning but won't at any part after.

Re: Monster Girl Quest: Paradox

How exactly do I recruit more girls? Is it that thing they do in battle (where you can pick something?)

On a side note. . .I'm lost. . .I beat the first boss. Picked the angel girl (don't remember her name). Now I am lvl 7 and I am lost.

Did that and had some more dialogue with the rabbit outside of the tartarus which you get out of in the end of the dungeon, turns out that enemies after that can one shot your whole party in one shot, what the hell do I do then? backtrack? I also got the new lamia character on my party now.

Goodness me I am so lost, yet I find so much stuff to keep playing towards T_T

you have to reach iliasville without getting in an encounter. stick to the roads and you'll be fine.

So i have recruited the 4 bandits, but I don't know what else to do from there, I'm supposed to talk to Amila?, who is that? I want to get permission to go down that tartarus hole, I'm already in the soldier profession but it won't let me.,..

How did you recruit the 4 bandits? The "route" to getting into Tartarus was explained above.
