Is it bad I don't know anything the person or thing that this forum was founded for? Isn't this as bad as someone going onto an anime forum and talking about Avatar the Last Air Bender and then going on about Samurai Jack season 2, before topping it off with a bit of dialog about Adventure Time, Seven's Universe, or Regular Show? Is this why my name change hasn't approved? Is this why I'm still Uselesser?

It's more a legacy name at this point, from what I recall. He was pretty important in the founding days of the forum but his presence diminished over time until he just went completely dark.
I think he came back recently and explain why he did that.

To answer your question though, probably not. IMO It's like moving to New York and not knowing who James II is.
