It proves rather easy to bypass the bulbs as Rhyst travels. It seems as though they are limited to their rises which over time, as more and more patches of water cropped up, slowly shrank until they were simply small clumps of grass rising out of the water with a bulb atop them. Eventually, Rhyst would reach a point where the reeds he had been walking on were no longer dominate but instead there was more water than reeds and to get between the different strips of reeds he would have to wade through the water.

Seeing the bulbs all around him, Rhyst decides to keep his armor on this time as he wades through the water, thinking it the only path for him to go.

While the water itself is shallow, only about a foot deep, the mud beneath is much thicker and Rhyst soon finds himself sinking almost 2 feet into the mud beneath the water. It is difficult to move through the mud like this, but it can be done.

"Figures... The time I actually decide to keep my armor on..." he grumbles to himself, trudging through the muddy waters.

Rhyst spends several hours pressing through the mud and slowly starts to notice more changes. As the reeds start to thin out, fewer and fewer bulbs appeared and soon there start to appear muddy clumps sticking out of the water.

Rhyst sighs in relief at the sparseness of the bulbs, though he is wary of the muddy clumps, content at keeping his distance and studying them a bit.

As Rhyst continues to walk the reeds grow sparser and the muddy clumps more frequent, almost no bulbs can be scene now. The clumps themselves don't seem to do much, they sit there, sometimes bubble, and occasionally have the mud slop of into the water.

Hoping the muddy mounds were just mud, Rhyst presses onward, scanning around for any movement as he does.

Moving forward, Rhyst notices that the reeds and bulbs finally disappear into the fog and soon starts to here a rushing sound. As he keeps walking he starts to notice the mud getting shallower while the water on top gets deeper. Along with this there starts to be a slight current in the water.

Now thankful to be wearing his armor, Rhyst presses onward, curious as to what the rushing sound was and hoping the current wouldn't pick up enough to sweep him away, even in metal armor.

Up ahead, as the fog lightens slightly, it becomes clear what the rushing is. A small channel running through the much seems to be flowing extremely quickly, sweeping away most of the nearby mud. In fact, even the muddy clumps seem to be staying out of the channel. It is likely the current around him is bleeding off of this channel and at the same time is also the reason for the reduced amount of mud.

Thinking it safe to continue pressing on, Rhyst does just that, happy that he can actually see now that the fog was lifting.

Trying to ford the fast moving channel, Rhyst finds himself starting to be pulled by the current. He soon finds himself being propelled downstream at a fast rate.

Knowing that fast flowing streams normally lead either to an ocean or waterfall of some sort, Rhyst frantically looks for some sort of edge to the stream to swim toward and hopefully escape from the water on.

Trying to get out of the water, Rhyst manages to make it to a small eddy in a bend in the river. While the water does swirl around here, it isn't threatening to send him down stream. Also apparent is the fact that Rhyst isn't the first thing to wash in here as a large amount of sea-grass is growing under the water.

Rhyst sighs and calms down now that he was safe from the current, though he took caution concerning the sea grass, examining it. It wouldn't be the strangest thing that had attacked him here...

The sea grass appears to simply be a slimy green grass which sways slightly in the eddy. It is difficult to see if anything else is in the grass because of the natural sway of the plants. a few feet from the stream the eddy ends and the muddy starts thickening again.

Rhyst tires of wading through the mud, water and sea grass, though trudges on, all the while looking for a shore to get out of the water on.

Trudging back away from the stream and towards the edge of the sea grass, Rhyst starts to feel something warm repeatedly brush up against his legs before fleeing back into the grasses. Also, as it does this, Rhyst notices that the fog gets thicker as he starts to leave the flowing water.

Rhyst uses his longsword and slices at the tall grasses around him, making them short enough so that he could hopefully see what had been brushing against him should it decide to try again.
