The guard woman nodded, "This is probably the safest place in the city now."

The woman walked over to the wall, which had a large collection of keys on it. Many were missing.

She grabbed a key, and gave it to Meredith, "This is the key to your room, the number is on the key, so you know which door it belongs to. Go ahead and head up there and get comfy. You girls look like you need some rest."

"Wait, what do we do here? Just wait until we run out of supplies?"

Meredith feels unsafe without that question answered and hopes that the guard doesn't answer with a yes. She hands the keys to Stacy

"You can go up first if you'd like Stacy, I still have a few questions I'd like to ask."

The guard laughed, "Why, that's a problem I'm hoping you new girls will remedy! The supplies are out in the city, and even though it's dangerous, we don't have much choice but to go out there and loot. Oh, and make sure you grab a backpack, we've got lots of them, and they're great for keeping lots of loot in em. Now go get some sleep."

Meredith grumbles softly. She normally would've found the guard slightly suspicious but seeing as how they were safe from the creepy crawlers outside now, she didn't mind. Upon reaching her room, she'll collapse in her bed from sheer mental be physical exhaustion.

Meredith fell fast asleep, as morning seemed to appear in the blink of an eye.

Meredith felt something wrapped around her chest as consciousness came back to her, when she looked, Stacy was asleep next to her, with her arm wrapped around Meredith's chest.

She crawled out of her own bed to join Meredith...

Meredith immediately thinks that her friend must've been frightened all night and decides to wrap her arms around her friend carefully as she let's out a short, silent sigh. Gently she pats Stacy's head with one of her hands and tries to forget the events of last night. The warmth they shared was all she needed right now. Suddenly her stomach growls and she realizes that she hadn't eaten a thing. As stealthily as possible in order to not awaken her friend she gets out of bed and grabs Stacy's unused blanket to cover up. She then proceeds downstairs to see how they manage food and what they might have to eat.

There were rations on the table inside the room they slept in. They must have been a welcoming gift.

She began to eat her fill silently, making sure not to eat too much however. She felt with intensity that she had to do something to help instead of simply being a mooch. She went downstairs to see if there were any other girls and if she could help in any way.

(Meredith witnesses the events that occurred on the first page of the Apple Inn thread, after that, she spends one day with Stacy inside the Hotel, just relaxing and coping with the events of what transpired that night. The next day, after some women are assigned to another mission, she decides to leave the sanctuary of her room and join the other survivors with Stacy...)
