"Alright, then, we won't go up in the observation room... we'll go around the building."

Lacking any more substantial objection, Melissa follows the other two along the path to the Aquarium, with the rescuees following behind her.

(I think... You misunderstood... Either that, or I failed to explain properly. The path TO to the aquarium just leads to the front of the building, it doesn't actually go inside the aquarium.)

Mina let out a relieved sigh, and followed Melissa through the door after she walked through it, arriving at the front doors of the Aquarium, which Mina made sure not to look at.

Standing in front of the building, the eleven girls were looking down the path of what they didn't know was where the other afore mentioned group had fought. However, no signs of that group were present at the scene, leaving all of the girls unaware that another group had even passed through here...

"Well, so far so good... Oh, one moment."

Melissa pulls out the radio once again.

"Melissa here. Just letting you know that we didn't find a back road, so we're making our way back to the parking lot on the south side, and should be there shortly. Any luck with the van? Over."

Jenn takes a look at the setting sun.

"It's getting late. Lets keep going. I mean, if that van takes too long we'll have to figure something else out, because we really don't want to be here when the sun goes down."

(That's why Melissa radioed out right now, so if the van is at the Inn now, it can get started on its way over, or as soon as it gets back to the Inn, it can get started right away. But we're still gonna be waiting a while next to Melissa's car... and the way we've planned the trip, she's leaving that behind. )

"It's hardly been over a minute, fool," she insulted Melissa, "Just finding a truck to meet your needs will take some time, but I assure you, it will arrive to pick you up before sun down."

Melissa blinks at the radio. She'd've sworn it had been at least a few minutes, what with them discussing whether to go into the observatory or not...

"I'm sorry, my time-sense must be messed up. So we'll meet the truck in the parking lot later, then. Thank you. Melissa out."

Since the Director didn't have anything else to pass on, she promptly stashes the radio in her backpack.

"Well, let's keep going south. Stay away from the pond, there was something in it this morning... we scared it off, though."

No sense frightening the rescuees with the fact that the octopus-monster had been able to reach up to them on the main path...

Jenn remembers the fight with the tentacles, and avoids the water by a wide margin.

Mina immediately spoke up in protest,

W-what if that giant octopus comes back!?! she asked her, and when she did, almost all of the futa women casted worried glances at each other...

Jenn gestures off to the right, away from the setting sun.

"We can go the long way around if it makes you feel better. I suppose we're not exactly going to miss our ride..."

"Then we scare it off again. I shoot it, Jenn stabs it, and you tie its tentacles in knots, okay?"

Melissa bends a little closer to Mina, trying to whisper so that nobody else can hear.

"And this is the shortest path to the parking lot, and the quicker we move, the less likely it is to show up again, right? So don't scare the rescuees any more than we have to."

She looks out over the pond, trying to give off an aura of confidence, even as inside she's hoping she doesn't see anything, either with eyes or with Sight...

(I assume Melissa's managed to regenerate enough essence to use Divine Sight...?)

As Melissa uses her old ability once more, there didn't seem to be any signs of life in the water... Although it might be deeper, since she knew her range didn't go far...

Mina covered her mouth as Melissa whispered to her, after whispering back,

"O-oops..."

Following Mina's protest, the eleven women went the long way 'round, and eventually reached the parking lot. They waited for some time, before hearing the announcement that a truck was on it's way... And before Melissa detected life... A lot of life... Coming from the zoo they just left... Heading straight for them, and none but her being none the wiser to the approaching threats...

(Frig. Maybe we should've cleared the Diner out... then we'd be able to fort up in there.)

After digging around in her car for its emergency kit, and realizing she'd taken it out at some point and never put it back, Melissa spends her time keeping watch, while the rescuees take turns standing and sitting. The news that the truck is on its way is very cheering, brightening everyone's spirits... something which Melissa, unfortunately, has to shatter a few minutes later.

"Um... there seems to be something moving around inside the Zoo... and coming this way. If you all could get behind the car, while us three move out in front..."

She hops off the roof, placing herself between the group and the Zoo, already checking her rifle and sliding a few last cartridges in.

(Reload rifle, over the break; 10 cartridges in rifle, 2 in backpack. What can she tell about this "lot of life"? Is it one big creature or several smaller creatures?)

Jenn took a quick long look at the car, but...

No, I don't know how to hotwire a car, or how to drive one, for that matter.

Instead, Jenn takes a real hard look at the parking lot and surrounding buildings, looking for a good way out if she needs one real quick. At the same time, she moves toward Melissa and Mina...

"What do you see?"

"I'm... not sure. Just that it's big, and it's alive." She snorts. "Maybe that elephant that broke out before we got here came back."

She squints a bit, trying to discern details.

When Melissa looks, she doesn't have to look closer, as the mass of life she saw was either a ridiculously long snake, or perhaps a large number of small, possibly four legged creatures...

Mina silently went next to Melissa, and even closer to Jenn, making sure to keep an eye on the woman she thought to be a coward...

(QUICK! Use the time to lay down claymores! Wait... she doesn't have any. )

"Hm. Maybe a really long snake, or a group of smaller things? I hope it's not those hyenas..."

Lacking anything better to do, Melissa merely points her rifle at the gate, waiting for the first part of the aura to become visible and show them all what they'll be facing.

"Whatever it is, just stay close together, help each other, and let us do the fighting, okay?" she calls to the rescuees, hoping to keep them levelheaded in the face of whatever horror is coming after them now.

(Pretty much an 'idle' post. Don't want to scare the rescuees with horror stories, because I'm not sure it's hyenas and I don't know if it'd help them resist the fear effect if they were told about it beforehand.)

Jenn draws herself up into a defensive stance, edging a bit away from Mina.

"I guess we'll see for ourselves in a moment...."

If they are more hyenas... well we'll see.
