Outside the building, there are a few people clustered around or under some of the pickups in the corner. They seem to be doing things such as reinforcing the sides and windows as well as building a solid, metal cage over the back, although a few use wood instead of metal.

Do you know how to where to best attach metal plates to the bottom of cars so that they still work but their innards aren't as vulnerable? One of the workers replies.

The whole area seems somewhat empty now with the traffic having died off. It is rather warm though, especially without any breeze coming through to cool him off. It is rather boring as well. Except for officers driving a car into position now and then, there isn't much in the way of movement. The only thing moving down in the direction of where the zombies should be coming from are some bushes with their leaves fluttering with a good breeze.

*Chase would move over to the nearest vehicle and crouch down to get a look under it some looking for good solid points of the under carriage for attaching plates*

The thing is, these things don't always realize they're dead, so if you run over them, they might grab on the the undercarriage and fuck things up. The man replies. Also, you may want one of these. He says, sliding a wheeled board towards Chase.

"well thats true i guess the best way is just to plate it all up so nothing can be grabbed..just gotta also make sure we can take it back off in case wqe need to get under here and fix something ya know? so that makes welding onto the frame out of the question entirely"

Aye, normally that would be the case, but these things won't see much non-combat use, so if we really need to work on the bottom, we can just cut the metal sheets off again. The man says, sliding Chase a welder. Just try and weld the sheets in areas where cutting through the welds won't damage the car.

For Robert, still nothing seems to move and the air is as hot and still as ever. The only damn annoying thing is that he can tell that a few of the bushes are getting a breeze and moving about, but he isn't.

Still, not much happens, although it does seem as though the movement among the bushes is getting closer, maybe there will be a breeze at the end of the parking lot soon.

*with the welder slid over Chase begins to work on the plating only after getting some eye protection and gloves. after that chase would work on welding the plates to the frames as near the edge of it as possible to make it easier to take them back off when need-be*

Robert keeps watching for any signs of movement, yawning. The movement in the bushes was starting to look very strange.....

While Chase is busy attaching a protective bottom to the exposed innards of a pickup, Robert spots something. It looks as though people are starting to make their way out of the bushes and stumble clumsily towards him. They seem to all be wearing red...

Following orders, Robert immediately returns to the man he'd spoken to before to notify him of the approaching zombies, making sure to warn anyone he sees on the way.

Upon hearing the news the chief starts calling out orders. Alright people, here come the first few stragglers. It shouldn't be tough yet, just keep these few ones from getting to the mechanics. Once the real stuff hits, we won't have the time or space to do much work on those vehicles so it needs to be finished now. Tower, keep an eye for any z's sneaking through the car walls along the sides. Everyone else, get ready, but don't fire if you don't think you can hit them. We need to minimize loss of ammo.

"Roger." Robert replies, and then takes up a postion that allows him easy view of the approaching zombies. He draws and raises his weapon, takes time to aim carefully for the closest zombies center of mass, and squeezes the trigger.
