Sean relaxes slightly, reverting, but he adds a comment of his own. "At least one. I don't know who, of course, but the odds are at least one of them."

Very likely, that comment was part of a conversation that they'd had before.

"Agreed. Oh I should tell you, tomorrow morning we'll be sending them out with Claudia. Get the Tesla's charged up and the Farnsworth's ready. They'll be going to Colorado Springs, chances are there's an artifact there. Long story short, townsfolk have been suddenly acting on subconscious desires in the last three weeks, and it finally made the grid. Seems to be a perfect mission to cut their teeth into, yes?"

Sean nods. "I'll handle it. Not like I really need the sleep, but appearances, you know?"

He starts to head to take care of the stuff, then stops and turns back. "Couple of things. First, I got to looking, and the Box isn't a hazard, and hasn't really exhibited movement tendencies, so I'm going to put it back out with the rest. Second, you want me to have my stuff ready, just in case things end up going pear-shaped this early?"

There was a moment of hesitation before Chris nodded. "Yeah, just in case. Hopefully they won't, but then look what happened to the last two people. I'd like to avoid that again."

Sean nodded. "No shit. I really don't like having to stand around in that monkey suit and sissy shirt combo. Well, I've got stuff to do."

With that, he headed off to take care of the stuff he had to do.

Chris had just gotten new info, and wasn't happy. The artifact he'd hoped didn't exist had just been proven to be real, it's general location known. This changed his plans dramatically.


He was interrupted when Leena and Roger arrived. "Oh, hey, what can I do for you folks?"

Upon arriving, Roger stayed silent behind Leena, keeping his hands in his pockets, and gesturing a silent greeting at Chris, by tilting his head upwards. Roger's eyes looked to Leena after his silent greeting, expecting her to fill in the details about their visit.

Leena quickly did fill Chris in on things, and unbeknowst to Roger, her suspicions, by extending her aura to cover Chris.

Nodding, Chris answered. "Yeah sure, not a problem, I'll get to that now since there's time. You ready to go now Roger?"

Roger looked back and forth between Leena and Chris, a bit confused, before he remembered that the woman had an ability to get into people's minds. "Great... Those two stand there, staring at each other, and leave me here with my thumb up my-"

Roger's thought was interrupted at Chris' words directed to him, and blinked at the name he was called, "I said to call me RJ... And yeah, the sooner I get to get away from all this..." he looked around, at some of the artifacts about, "... This shit, the better."

He walks out with Roger, heading for his vehicle, while Leena returns to the B&B.



Once outside, Chris speaks to Roger. "So .... RJ. I finally got your file from my superiors. Interesting, it makes mention that you get .... vibes when bad things are going to happen. I was wondering if you'd do me a slight favor?"

Roger raised an eyebrow at Chris, "Who the hell gave you that file? I never told anybody I got vibes..." he said, before shaking his head, "And I don't know what you're bringing this up for. Lots of people get a feeling when danger's close. It's just survival instinct. If you lived in the hood for as long as I have, it just builds on you after a while." he told Chris. "And, what kind of favor are we talkin' about?" he asked, turning his head to look at Chris.

Chris just looked at him with a look of, 'do I need to give you the name of Ms. Frederick again?'

He nodded then answered. "Some information has come up on an artifact I had hoped didn't exist inside of Africa. I need some people to go with, and since I read your file already, I was hoping you'd be willing to go. I won't lie to you, it could prove dangerous since I know others are looking for this artifact, or we may get lucky and beat them to it and not have to worry at all. Also, I thought you'd appreciate being on a different squad than Sean or Akira."


He was silent after that, waiting for Roger's reply, meanwhile he'd adjusted his shades, which might seem strange to Roger that he was wearing them in the pitch black night.

Roger chuckled, "I'm not in any real position to refuse, now am I?" he told Chris, "If that file had any real detail, you'd know my position right now. Africa, Asia, Antarctica, I don't really have a choice, but to go wherever you send me." he said bluntly. Roger then turned to Chris with his full attention, looking at him with a serious expression, "And a man's only as good as his word, and how much he's willing to keep it. I gave my word that I'd help you guys out, and that's why I'm here in the first god damn place." he then look straight ahead again, towards the now very near red truck, belonging to Roger, "In other words... Off to Africa I go." he said.

Pulling out his keys, Roger pushed his car key into the driver's side door, and turned it, thus unlocking it. He climbed inside, shut the door, and reached over to unlock the passenger side door for Chris, right before saying, "Hop in."

Chris nodded, not exactly sure what to say back to him, and climbed in, directing as they went.


After a few minutes of silence he finally asked his next question. "Alright, so tell me what your thoughts are regarding Sarah and Dex. Can you envision being able to work with them as a team?"

Roger sighed, "Look, man, I don't know." he said in an annoyed tone, "Hell, I don't even know who those people are, so how the hell should I know?"

After a good while, Dex's car pulls back onto the parking lot of Warehouse 13. The blonde steps out and produces a suitcase and a bag from her trunk. Shouldering those without much trouble she walks up to the Warehouse door and waits for somebody to let her in.

After a couple of seconds, Sean opens the scanner door to let Dex in. He then heads around and gets the door into the Bed & Breakfast, before returning to whatever it is that he was doing.

Chris frowned slightly. "I was asking of your first impressions of them from meeting them today, but alright. Turn left there, and half a mile up the road we'll be at the Bed and Breakfast."


There was silence until they had come to a stop, then Chris spoke, a sharp tone to his voice, suggesting something he'd failed to do once had triggered this sour spell. "Listen good RJ. Learn quickly about your team mates, who reacts how in certain situations, who's level headed in tight spots, and most importantly, learn who to trust and who not to. And when working with a partner, ALWAYS watch each others asses, you may need their help at some point."

He then silently opened the door and stepped out, closing it softly and standing there for a moment, the mask of nothingness once again on his face. Finally he spoke.

"Sorry to have bothered you with all of this. If you don't need me here any longer I'll be out of your hair then."

Roger gave Chris a side glance, "I'll work on trusting myself first," he said simply, not making a move to get out of the truck, rather, to prop his head up against the window, and rest his legs across the seats. Then, he reached over to the portion behind the head rests of the seat, and took out a Georgia Bulldogs baseball cap, putting it on his head, and lowering the vizor end of it to cover his eyes.

"Nightie night," he said to Chris after his upper face was covered.
