Re: A Greater Mystery (Keylo)

Enigmas Status: HP = 34, P = 35, EP = 51/63

To-hit: 18 + 40 = 58 vs 15 = hit.
Damage: 9 + 10 + 12 = 31 damage.

The spirit gladly gives chase, rushing after the goblin far faster than Enigma had thought the ghostly knight could move, and gets up along side the demon. The knight spins away from the goblin, her sword extended, and sweeps the blade across the goblins neck, beheading the little demon.

The spirit comes forward to stand in front of Enigma, and plants its sword toward the ground.

Re: A Greater Mystery (Keylo)

((Do I gain exp for this fight? :p))

"Done already? And here I was sure you'd take at least another ten seconds you know, with all that ghostly armor and such."

Stretching her limbs as she got back up onto her feet, Enigma began to ramble on as she usually did about nothing in particular.

"But really, you'd think the greenies would have taken off running at the sight of you, with that hulking sword and such rather than even bothering to stab at you uselessly. Stupid things really. Reminds me of those Wor-Schbeter things I saw a while back, or whatever it was called."

(Yes, 2 exp for you. Goblins are pansies.)

"The thing about ghostly armor, you'd be surprised at how light it is. Doesn't weigh an ounce, or I'm a pigeons granny. And the poor little dears didn't know any better, I almost feel bad for having killed the things. Still, at least I get some more company. Will that be all deary?" The spirit says, and before her eyes Enigma watches as the ghostly figure seems to age, bending forward and the hair visible from beneath the helm growing wispy and falling out in clumps.

"Company? Oh right, greenie ghosts, not sure why you'd want them for company though. Either way that's it for, see you in... a week, a few years, a few centuries then? Depending on if I call you again of course. But yes, that's all for now. "

Enigma then makes a bow to the ghost and thanks it for its service, before dismissing it. Soon after, she's off towards the empty houses again, looking forward to an encounter with "demons" that she wished to research about ever so much...

The spirit quickly withers away in front of her, eventually falling into ghostly dust and dissolving completely. Continuing over the bridge, Engima reaches a crossroads. She could go right toward the docks, left along the river and toward the slums and factories, or forward toward the center of town and along the main road. There didn't seem to be anything nearby of any interest.

((Luna? When was I play as a Luna in Dark gate? :p))

Ooo, lovely a crossroad. These are always so fun. Lets see, pick a peck of peppers...no wait, green tea red tea herbal tea...eenie meenie miney moe...

After finally deciding on a method of choosing the path she wanted to take, Enigma opted to head to the center of the town, curious if there would be anything there of interest to her...

(My bad, I've got one PC and one NPC named Luna, so it gets a bit confusing at times. Especially since the NPC is a Necromancer.)

Setting off, Enigma once again found herself distracted, this time by the many shops on the right side of the road. She could see that the humans had sold all kinds of things, some which she'd never even imagined existed before. She became understandably cross then, when a small demon with clawed forelegs came bounding out of a building toward her.

Re: A Greater Mystery (Keylo)

((It's fine, given that I used to play a Luna a while back. So no worries.))

Ooo! Is that what I think it is? Why yes it is! But wait, what's that in the corner over there? Never seen anything like that before! Note to self, make return trip here after this whole demon thingy settles down, must get myself one of those. One of those as well!... And one of-

Her thoughts interrupted as a small demon charged out of the building at her, Enigma became far more perturbed than she had before, an almost dangerous aura leaking out of her as she glared at the creature that had interrupted her "ogling".

"You know! It's extremely rude to disturb someone when they're busy thinking! You stupid worm! Kindly turn the other way or else I'll teach you a lesson you won't forget!"

As she said this, her "aura", seeming to emanate an air of death, stretched forth towards the demon, slowly sucking the life from it...

((Action: Use two points of spirit for "life leech" if "long ranged" life leech is allowed. If not, ready staff for a counterattack.))

Re: A Greater Mystery (Keylo)

Enigmas Status: HP = 34, P = 35, EP = 61/63, Grappled

(Most of the spirit powers that do damage are ranged. Also, sorry about the craptastic post, dealing with someones stupidity.)

To-hit: 2 + 26 = 28 vs 20 = hit.
Damage: 2 x 6 = 12 damage.

Enigmas energies leech some of the life from the demon, but that doesn't stop it from attacking her.

To-hit: 11 + 20 = 31 vs 31 = hit.

The creature slams into her, pushing her down to her back and causing her back to thump against the muddy ground.

Re: A Greater Mystery (Keylo)

((No problem, I can understand that. I'll have a "rp" twist to Enigma's life leech though, in that it becomes more prominent the closer the enemy is to her. On another note, can I use spirit powers while grappled?))

Enigma's composure is unbroken as she is thumped to the ground, showing no sign of fear or, surprisingly enough, rage. Rather, after being knocked to the ground, the only emotion she shows to the demon facially is that an icy cold disposition of death.

"You know... I really wouldn't touch me if were you, I tend to lose myself when people do that. And when I lose myself, bad things tend to happen to things around me. Very bad things."

((Action: If possible, Life Leech for 10 spirit. Otherwise, escape grapple.))

Enigmas Status: HP = 34, P = 35, EP = 49/63

(Yep, the to-hit just becomes a grapple roll instead. And I forgot your Harmful Spirit damnit.)

Grapple: 18 + 12 = 30 vs 6 + 20 = 26 == Engima wins.
Damage: 3 x 12 = 36 + 2 = 38 damage.

The effect of Enigmas magic is immediate, as barely seconds after touching her the demon has the life literally sucked out of it. The creature collapses on top of her, going pale and limp, its muscle being slowly eaten away.

Re: A Greater Mystery (Keylo)

"I did tell you didn't I? Bad things happen when people touch me. You just didn't listen. Stupid little thing really. Now what was I thinking about before I was so boorishly interrupted? Some object?"

Pushing the corpse off of her, Enigma tries to remember what she had been planning to do before she was attacked, pondering to herself for a few moments as she dusted herself off and stood up.

Lets see, I originally came here looking for demons...then that troll thingy popped out at me...then some mutt...oh and a few greenies. Smelly greenies too. Then I went to a crossroad and then picked a direction and... Oh well, forget it. I'll just wander around for a bit until I remember.

With that, Enigma proceeded towards the center of town once again, despite her inability to realize that the direction she was headed was the one she planned on all along.

Enigma is barely back on her feet before a massive dog walks around the corner of a street about fifty feet in front of her. It looks like no breed of the animal she'd ever seen or heard of, with massive fangs and a long tail ending in a spike, and standing nearly four feet at its shoulder.

Re: A Greater Mystery (Keylo)

Another mutt? Lovely. Was someone breeding them or something before setting out? Must have been one twisted litter. Either way, enough of this.

Feeling a bit more irritated than normal, Enigma chose to press forward in spite of the creature, ignoring the fact that her lifesapping "aura" was active at an all time high.

((Ten points into Life Leech while moving forward at the same time if possible.))

(Also, I have been remembering the drains, I just haven't been putting them up since you haven't taken any HP damage.)

To-hit: 8 + 30 = 38 vs 38 = hit.
Damage: 5 x 10 = 50 - 4 = 46 damage.

Her draining aura seems to give the creature pause, because it wobbles on its feet before shaking its head and growling angrily. It suddenly becomes covered in dark plate armor, complete with spikes.

Re: A Greater Mystery (Keylo)

((Wait, wasn't life leach supposed to heal spirit as well? I believe that's what the skill description says...

Oh, and after this turn... I 'should' be 38 feet from the creature))

Unperturbed, Enigma continues to move on, her aura continuing to sap at the creature's very life...

((9 points of spirit, Life Leach again while moving onward.))

(Yes, but it returns half the spirit energy points. So far, I've been using your numbers as the X value in the Leach Life Equation.)

To-hit: 16 + 30 = 46 vs 38 + 18 = 56 == Miss.

The leaching energy seems to slide off of the demonic creatures armor. The demon charges at the approaching elf, getting up to 8 feet away from her before she can unleash some other spell against it.

Re: A Greater Mystery (Keylo)

((Right, right. Now here's assuming that the town has cobblestones, otherwise this will just be a normal earth golem.))

As the distance between Enigma and the dog closed, it was then that she put her fingers to her lips and let out a sharp whistle, much like before during her spirit summoning. This time however, rather than calling one of the undead to her service, her "aura" seemed to wrap around the very cobblestones of the streets, and cause them to gather together. The result of her magic was a towering "golem" of sorts, made from the stones of the street. An automaton of great size, power,... and speed given the nature of animation she used (with earthen hammer included). Her first order upon its creation? To smash the dog before her into meat paste.

((Animate, and have it attack the dog if possible.))

Re: A Greater Mystery (Keylo)

Enigmas Status: HP = 34, P = 35, EP = 30/63

(Going with X = 3, and nice description btw.)

The animated being of earth and stone rises before her, directly in the dogs path. The demonic dog tries to halt its momentum and avoid the massive piece of the golem which it hammers down toward it.

To-hit: 10 + 50 = 60 vs 38 + 18 = 56 == hit.
Damage: 8 + 25 - 18 - 4 = 11 damage.

The creatures armor barely slows the golems fist as it crashes into the dog, crushing the creature into a bloody pulp on the ground. Its armor disappears, and the dogs flesh slowly melts away, leaving just a bare skeleton. Her automaton stands, or floats rather, motionless.

(4 exp for you.)

Re: A Greater Mystery (Keylo)

((Thanks.))

Enigma looked on at the dog coldly as it got smashed into a bloody pulp, seeming indifferent to what had just taken place for a moment. Then, after staring at the corpse for a brief period of time, she seemed to sway dizzily a bit as her "aura" receded itself back into her body, and she returned to her normal disposition.

Dearie me, that took more out of me than I thought. Told them not to get me angry though, but noo.... now they're meat paste. Nasty stuff at that, never could understand why some people could stand to eat that stuff. I mean, eating flesh is what maggots do, right?

It is only then that she finally realizes her golem is still there, waiting for further orders.

"Oh, right, nice job. You can return to your original form now."

Chanting a short incantation under her breath with a finger directed towards the golem, Enigma caused the cobblestones which created the automation's form to separate and return to their respective positions they had been in previously before the magic had taken place. The earthen hammer on the other hand, crumbled into dirt and rocks atop the cobblestone streets, the only evidence remaining that the golem had ever existed asides from the dog's corpse.

After this had been done, Enigma began to press onward towards the town center again...

Think I'll rest after I get to the middle of the town. Though I really should have brought one of Mougo's Amazing portable shelters. Those are ever so convenient. Oh well, guess I'll make do with what I have.
