I'm pretty sure the -s posreps are just someone trying to cycle their rep so they can continue repping somebody else, I've been getting one or two myself.

I reaaaaaaaaally was going to, despite the fact that it IS insanity to negatively rep me for say that NG3 is a game that doesn't live up to it's predecessor's quality. An opinion so widely held that it might as well be fact.

But then : The Reputation... 15th January 2015 14:03 ...

So I thought to myself, if they're not stopping abusing the rep system, and nobody's going to reprimand them(I wonder why), why should I stop bitching about it?

Haven't checked my rep page for a long time, and I just found out that I once got negative rep'd for sharing a game because I split the Mega link into two parts (link and encryption key)? WTF?

On the plus side I was once neg rep'd for this post "http://www.ulmf.org/bbs/showthread.php?p=629169#post629169". The comment he/she left was "wont reply but will neg rep, butthurt? no homo". I am not even mad. That's hilarious.

The latest one happened about an hour ago so just for the hell of it, I've listed the following highly reputed users with over 1000 posts (save for one) who can be excluded from being suspected of doing the ... ones because they weren't on here at the time. I appreciate the sentiment, but really, we all know EXACTLY who it is. And that's really the heart of the matter here, if it were me doing it, I'd be getting in trouble.

I'd list the ... negreps I got since my last post in an effort to appear like I'm staying on topic. But why the fuck should I bother? I'm not following the rules if no one is going to enforce them.

Can we please just remove rep rights from whoever is abusing the system with this carpet bombing campaign, and be done with this? Whilst I realise it might well be a friend for all I know, whoever it is doing this evidently can't be trusted to use the rep system maturely or as it's intended, and is perfectly happy to incite pointless drama based on personal prejudice.

I'm sorry but I'm not going to blame Ace or the other targets here. I'd rather solve this nonsense at the root. We've nullified users rep power before. I don't see why it can't happen again. It's the simplest solution, and might even help discourage future abuse.

Alternatively you could just grow up and stop.

Good luck with that . There are three methods of catching you or him in the act, I just have to be logged in to this site at just the right time. Besides, everyone already told me who it was, I just want to catch him in the act which requires me to be on here at just the right time. BTW, he just acted about 40 minutes ago and I've updated that list of people

And in case you're wondering, no I'm not going to retaliate by neg repping him back.

Honestly I wouldn't even be taking this shit this far but it really seems that this has gone beyond MnF and trolling but rather this user doesn't want me generally posting outside of the hentai games sections. In regards to the one almost everyone believes has been doing it, outside of the reps, most of his responses toward me have been negative even if I was contributing so I'm probably going to have to get involved sooner or later anyways.

That's a pretty good idea, I didn't know that you could do that.

I know I'm bitching the loudest for something to be done, but at the same time I was wondering what actually COULD be done.

I mean, banning them is only going to offer a reprieve untill they're done with time-out, and deleting their account is overkill, especially when you'd rather have them around than the "victims".

Honestly though, I'm a little thankful. This whole episode has rather effectively illustrated my point on the rep system being... inadequate under certain circumstances.

Rep system is a perfectly fine thing in my opinion

But the thing with it is that the rep is shown publicly, which lets people use it as a bullying tool.

Being able to send anonymous praise/non-praise/comments on a post is neat
Being able to use this to make it seem like the person you dislike is Hitler is not so neat (Woo, Godwin's law!)

Could just set it up so that rep isn't shown on every post. There's a whole lot less incentive to fuck over someone's rep if it's only shown on the profile page or something
