Re: UnHolY SaNctuaRy

(2) Regarding the GameOver w/ the Dominatrix boss, I just notice there was another woman in the background, something I believe I didn't see the first time I ever lost to that boss. Wondering if anyone might be familiar with her (like from another game perhaps)? I mean, that's the first time I've seen another living(?) human in this game.
This surprised me as well few days ago, but I thought I just missed her the last time I were there...

 Update had some ok material, and yeah, though tricky in places wasn't for the most part too hard. But man, there was just no way in hell I could get up the tower area before the charging orcs. :)

This games difficulty is overkill. This game reminds me to much of Ninja Gaiden for the Nintendo.

This game is extremely forgiving in its difficulty compared to many of the nightmares that other people have been releasing.

If you only had 1 life bar as opposed to three then yes I would agree that this game is hard.

At least you don't die in this game like kai adventure. (No save point, 1 hit kill)
It would be torture if he didn't put save point before the boss room:eek:

Re: UnHolY SaNctuaRy

Maybe I should rephrase. It is way more difficult to smash through this section in a short time than the previous sections. It took me less time to make it to the new part than it did to make it through the new part. Maybe due to unfamiliarity, yes...but I think it's also geared more toward a slower gameplay style, whereas the rest of the game you can just hack and slash while running most of the time.

Quite true, the gears section rewards a player who waits and studies the sequence before jumping in.

Umm I don't play call of duty.
Don't worry, he's probably from my generation that endured quite a few games that make unholy sanctuary pale in comparison, regarding difficulty.

Everything went more userfriendly, it's more a lovely little journey nowadays than "beating that damn game" like it was in our time :D

We're a bit elitist because of that and like to poke people a bit that haven't gone through the same teethgrinding crap like we did.

(I'm looking at you Double Dragon II!!)

The game's difficulty is a little less than Castlevania III on NES.
So quit complaining. xD

And Castlevania III was beatable. :D

Re: UnHolY SaNctuaRy

Given Castlevania III's problems, I'd say that's still ranking this game's difficulty too high. I'd say more like a little under Super Castlevania IV's difficulty.

Don't suppose anyone has a save for right after the clocktower, do they?

I'm tired of falling into that spiderweb.

Re: UnHolY SaNctuaRy

This is from the save point right after the Clock Tower... Unfortunately, there's pretty much nothing there. You can't go right yet (which would likely be a boss) and left takes you back to the clock tower area. You have a miniboss there though, but "mini" is the best description considering that you can just do the upswing until it dies.

Regarding this game's challenge... It's strange, but I'm not finding it that hard personally. It's not easy and I usually did reach the save points with low health/lives, but I've had a gameover maybe 3-4 times max from start to end (well, current end). I've had much more difficulty with Kurovadis or Nightmare Sphere (on the higher difficulties) than I do with Unholy Sanctuary. Thinking about it, I've even had a much harder time with Super Mario 3D Land on the last 4 worlds of the special stages than I did with Unholy Sphere. Maybe I have an affinity for the gameplay of this game or maybe it's just the fact that patient gameplay is more rewarding in this game than in the other ones.

To those who find this game too hard: stop complaining about the difficulty and get . Being able to control your health makes this game much easier.
