Ashleys desperate spell slammed into the behemoth holding her and threw it sideways, still grasping her in its single massive hand. It skidded against the stone floor, its fingers crushing the air from her lungs, and her body was pummeled with tables and chairs that were casually tossed aside by its massive bulk. It came to a stop about twenty feet away, far farther than the wind should have thrown it, but as it came to a halt, it shuddered, and Ashley realized that its death grip on her was more than an expression. What little was left of the creatures head was splattered against a table. As she climbed up out of its hand, however, another of the creatures was already practically on top of her, its massive hand outstretch to try and grab her. That proved to be the last motion that the grey behemoth ever made, however, as its entire body suddenly crystallized, along with a fairly sizable portion of the room. Looking back at where she'd been standing a moment ago, Ashley saw Jenn standing, shaking and with watery eyes, in front of another alien ice sculpture. Her hands were slightly raised together, and she looked just as exhausted as Ashley herself felt at this point, but the last two juggernauts near them had been handily taken care of, at least.

Things didn't go quite as well for Chloe, unfortunately, as her spell fizzled, and one of the creatures reached out toward her, tendrils grasping around her waist. Slime began seeping through her clothes, causing her skin to tingle pleasantly, and a slight flush of unwarranted arousal suddenly began to pulse through her body. Her conjured rabbit streaked off, the alien creature in hot pursuit, but as it did, the girl fired another green bolt, and the tentacled monster melted into the ground, the foul smell of decaying flesh and a mass of brown goop the only thing that remained of it. That left only the one holding Chloe among the creatures attacking her.

Tesnyas golden glow intensified, and slowly became darker, heading toward orange as the tentacled being holding her began worming its vile tendrils into her clothing. A dozen more of them swarmed around her, eager to get a piece of the tiny girl. That proved quickly to be a mistake. With a brilliant flash, energy surged outwards from Tesnyas body, disintegrating all twelve of the monsters around her, and leaving her standing seemingly unharmed. Charles, meanwhile, continued weaving around the monsters tentacles that still grabbed pointlessly at him, snapping another kick at one of the creatures. It crumbled to the ground several feet away. So, that front at least seemed secure.

Then, disaster. The last of the glowing walls separating the three juggernauts from the students in the center finally flickered and disappeared. The last of the teachers inside fell along with it, blood dripping from his ears, and the three behemoths roared in triumph and started toward the group of students inside, who all looked totally drained of energies already. Many screamed in horror and bolted in random directions, further enhancing the chaos enfolding in the massive dining hall.

Ashley shuddered as she looked at the frozen beast. For a moment there she had wondered if they were going to be able to kill the big ones, given all they had already survived. "That was a close one, and we're not out of the woods yet. Are you all right, Jenn?"

The other girl didn't look all right, she looked about to fall down. But there was no helping that, and Ashley wasn't far behind herself. With no creatures charging her, she took a moment to see how the others were doing. And it seemed they were all doing well, with four or five of the little ones left alive between them. A few more seconds and they'd be coming to help.

Then the last force wall protecting the students in the center fell. Ashley let out a curse. They'd killed half the juggernauts and dozens of the little ones, but what was left was terrifying enough. And Ashley didn't have the energy to do anything serious about it. But she had learned a great deal in her time at the Academy, and one particularly interesting spell might be of use here. It meant letting all 3 juggernauts run free for another few seconds, but it was better then being reduced to caltrops. She raised one hand and concentrated in a way less familiar then her usual workings of wind and started drawing in the energy to release a bolt aimed not at the flesh of a juggernaut, but at the energy inside it. If all worked properly, some of that energy would flow into Ashley, where it could do some real good. But if it didn't, if this last spell was too much for her... she turned her head toward Jenn, "Wake me back up if I fall unconscious." Then she turned back, and finished the spell.

Chloe gasped in surprise as the tendrils started to wrap around her. The warmth of unwanted arousal flushing her cheeks.

Resisting the urge to push the slimy tendrils off her Chloe felt more then seen the final wall collapse which prompted her to check on how the others where fairing. Jen and Ashley had downed all their targets so Chloe felt it was okay to let Jens buff fade with a silently apology to her. The young man and strangely dressed girl seemed to be holding their own and while the group she set out to help was mostly out of the fight at lest one of them had survived.

With a current view of the battle she now needed to attend to her own situation. She was to far away for immediate help and was counting on her armor to delay the beast long enough to either kill it or have someone get to her in time to kill it. Drawing from the ambient energies around her Chloe began to cast a spell that while weak should help damage the creature holding her.... missing was not an option.

Chloes spell conjured a bolt of energy in the air above the monster that was holding her, and then dropped it down on top of her captor. The energy burnt a hole through the slimy creature, but if the being noticed, Chloe couldn't tell. Tendrils slithered beneath her garments, their slime touching her skin and setting fires alight all over her body, and then silently tugged them aside. Her top was pulled up, exposing her breasts to the open air, and her trousers and panties were tugged down to her knees, the skinny girl now more or less totally exposed.

Jenn nodded at Ashleys question, turning to her and quickly saying; "I'll be alright." When Ashley told her to wake her up, Jenn looked confused, but nodded and started toward her just as Ashley was casting her spell. Her magical projectile struck the juggernaut perfectly, and the behemoth simply collapsed, several students having to dodge out of the way as it hit the ground. As the bolt was returning to her, however, Ashleys legs suddenly gave out, and she dropped to the floor, unconscious. Her last sight was of Jenn breaking into a sprint toward her.

As the two juggernauts still standing rose their hands to smash down upon the students scrambling to escape, Tesnya, scowling, unleashed a ray of golden light at one of them. The blast went right through the juggernaut it had struck, taking off one of its arms at the shoulder and a good chunk of its massive torso. The behemoth collapsed, just like the one Ashley had neutralized a moment ago. The girl started forward, and as she came up next to Ashley and Jenn, she glanced down at Ashley, a dark glower on her face, and said; "Why didn't you do that in the first place?" One student was not so lucky, unfortunately, as the one remaining juggernaut smashed him aside. He slammed into a table and collapsed to the ground, immobile. Charles, meanwhile, continued on as before, gradually bringing down his foes one enemy at a time.

Chloe panicked as the creature seemed unfazed by the arcane energy that burned through it. When her cloths where pushed aside she panicked more. "AHHH SOMEONE HELP!" screamed before plunging her dagger into the creature trying to kill it before it got any further along.

Ashley feels the spell leave her fingers, and immediately realized she'd made a mistake. Blackness closed in around her as the last of her energy was pulled along with the spell, and she just hoped that Jenn got to her in time.

Then consciousness returned, and with it came the blinding pain of an intense headache. Her eyes opened, and everything was blurred colors. She had clearly hit her head when she fell, but it would take a moment to see what else had happened.

Ashley awakened to find Jenn kneeling over her and Tesnya standing practically on top of her, the tiny girl gathering a powerful wave of energy in her hands as she stared forward. Looking up, she saw a single juggernaut remaining, standing among a group of students pouring ineffectually at it with spells she wouldn't have thrown at a squirrel, much less one of these beasts. The bolt of energy turned into a ray, which streaked out and struck the behemoth squarely in the chest. The effect was instantaneous and violent, as the thing was cleanly bisected, only the top half of it was simply gone, splattered throughout the room in smoking chunks by the girls energy blast. That left only the three lesser monsters clustered around Charles, which quickly dropped to two, and the one tentacle ball currently molesting Chloe.

Unfortunately, that one proved to be too strong for the thin young mage, as her dagger never even came close to its flesh, unless you counted the tentacle holding her wrist. With a surge of motion, three tentacles forced themselves into Chloes body. Tesnya seemed to have found the things' weakness, from the ease with which she tore the final juggernaut apart. Charles was still tangling with a few little ones, but he seemed to be polishing them off with ease. Which just left the other girl, Chole. Who was being raped.

Well, where her efforts were needed was clear enough, but it wouldn't do to accidentally hit the girl. Which might be a tricky shot, considering that she was very intimately tangled with her foe. Ashley grinned - she was steady on her feet now, and tricky shots were her specialty. With this one she would be especially careful. She drew in a tiny amount of energy, wincing at the feeling that had knocked her out the last time, and released a bolt of magical energy with the most precision she could muster.

Ashleys bolt of magical energy zoomed out and ducked down as it neared the creature which was still pumping its fluids into Chloe, before suddenly driving up and into the things main body through what would be its belly on a normal creature. The bolt burned out a hole the size of a watermelon from its body, and with a shudder, the monster collapses, its tentacles going limp. Charles slams one of the two remaining creatures with a powerful kick that sends it tumbling to the ground, and Tesnya turned around and fired a bolt of energy at the last of them, leaving the massive dining hall filled only with the bodies of their fallen enemies, and some of the people they had come here to save. Those that still lived collected in the center in a half dazed state, injuries apparent on some, like one of those who had been clubbed by one of the three juggernauts Chloe had helped to take down. Others tried to wake the exhausted teachers that had put up force walls to protect those in the center of the hall. The four fallen faculty-members stirred after a moment, two men and two women, and groaned openly as they came awake. Only one person in the center group had been hurt, his body crumpled limply on the floor, and none of the younger students that had been protected by Tesnya force wall were even injured. Only frightened.

Chloe, meanwhile, was still violently horny, and now that her partner was dead, its appendages limp beneath her, her body screamed for her to find release. She just needed some other partner, but no one else in the room currently seemed interested, as all of them were so far away....

She turned to Jenn and thanked her again, giving her a quick hug, then moved over to the center group. One person had fallen and not gotten up, but perhaps she could heal him, if he was still alive...

Once she'd seen to him as best she could, Ashley turned to the faculty members, just waking back up. "What do we do now? My storm won't hold them forever..."

Chloe fled the room, her clothes in her hand, toward the room where they had left the two girls. As she reached the door, Tesnya had moved to intercept her, and stood next to the door. For a moment, the girl looked as though she was about to say something, but the look on Chloes face caused her to shut her mouth. Arousal, insatiable, pounded through Chloes body, and she passed through the doors, the tiny foreign girl following behind her silently and without comment. Charles half watched them go, but instead moved to join Ashley and Jenn. The two girls were waiting with blank looks within the closet, staring down at the unconscious man without blinking, and still covered in slime. She was clearly a better healer than Ashley, and the mans bones seemed to knit together, his body healing swiftly under her magics touch. He didn't wake, but he looked much better than before. The girl looked up at Ashley and smiled, gratitude in her face, before she turned back to him and began working lesser healing magics into his body. Charles tapped her on the shoulder, and whispered so that only Ashley and perhaps Jenn might hear; "Tesnya and Chloe went back to where those two girls were. The strange ones. Chloe didn't look like she was thinking very straight."

At her question to the teachers, all four of them blinked several times, still disoriented and weak. One, a woman from Badaria approaching middle age, her hair just starting to grey at the temples, was a lower ranked teacher in the department that dealt with herbs, healing, and magics that manipulated nature. Ashley had never had a class taught by her, but she had a kindly reputation. The next, an elven male in a black and red robe, was the head of the department dealing with the enchanting of weapons and armor and all sorts of magical objects. He was also an accomplished evoker, according to some sources, though Ashley hadn't seen him in action before. The third was an old man, the picture of the stereotypical wizard in a blue robe and a pointy hat, who was the head of the library. She knew little of his particular talents for magic. The last was the only one whom Ashley knew personally, a human woman not much older than herself, had been the one to teach Ashley the class on how to properly control conjuration magic. She was fairly stern, but Ashley had liked her if only because she was an excellent teacher.

They all looked confused for a second, glancing at one another before the elven evoker began to speak; "You're the one that summoned the wind then? I have to thank you student. If it weren't for you, we'd all be dead, or worse. We need to get outside, now, and if you can, try to keep the wind going. The more time you can buy, the better. If we can get fifteen minutes to prepare, we may be able to bring down that thing in the sky, and then this is over." The double doors on the opposite side of the hall that they had entered from opened out into a hallway that would take them outside with only a left turn and about five hundred feet of walking.

Ashley whispered her response back to Charles. "Tesnya is there? She can make sure nothing untoward happens, I think. If they don't come back within a few minutes, get some of the students help you look for them." It would be unfortunate to lose the girl at this juncture, but she could only worry about so much. If they let the invasion continue, then it wouldn't matter where Chole wandered off to.

She regarded the teachers in front of her. They didn't look very good, but nobody else did either. All of them were useful people, even the librarian. At least the elf might even be good on an actual battlefield, and all four were certainly better then most of the student mages in that capacity. But they had barely held out against the attack so far. She listened to their plan, and felt the bottom drop out of her stomach. Fifteen minutes, alone? "Fifteen minutes... I could use a good night's sleep before I try working magic like that again. But I suppose there's no other way, is there? Even so, I have to admit that I'm not sure how long I can hold it, even if they don't have anyone fighting me for control. I can try, though. If you can find people to protect me, or better yet help me..."

Ashley looked around for Jenn, sure that her closest friend would be there even if she was exhausted herself. And her other companions would come as well, probably. But they were all worse off then Jenn herself.

Charles nodded and backed away from Ashley after she responded, and moved to a place where he could see the door. He kept covertly glancing at her out of the corner of his eye as she spoke with the teachers, however. Jenn stood next to her, lines of worry covering her face, and she leaned slightly on her as the exhaustion and headache that came from moving so much energy were clearly taking their toll, but she met Ashleys eyes evenly when she glanced her. Her friend would stay with her, no matter what happened.

The elf actually grinned at Ashleys uncertainty, and the other teachers all broke away, shouting orders among the students. "You'll be kept safe. So long as you keep more of them from falling on top of us, everything should be alright. There are plenty of others groups fighting, and not that many monsters fell before you took care of their reinforcements. I'm guessing you aren't the only ones that managed to get in here either, right? You should be as safe as can be." The students around them moved mechanically, the wounded were gathered, and in short order a handful of students were headed toward the door in two groups, one headed by the librarian, and the other by the woman that had taught Ashley conjuration. A handful more were standing behind the elf, only four of them, but they were the eldest of the group, some of them older and more experienced than Ashley. He folded his arms and turned around, leading them toward the door and expecting Ashley to follow.

Back in the kitchens, meanwhile, Tesnya folded her arms as Chloe was stripped, and laid down, one of the two blondes underneath her and another at her side. Before leaving, Jenn turned back to Charles. "They still aren't back? Maybe you should go find them, make sure they're all right. I'll be outside, when you find them."

The teacher seemed confident that she would be safe, and with the number of people apparently going outside at least in part to protect her, perhaps he had reason. On the other hand, if who or what-ever was in charge of the vast thing overhead discovered who it was that was keeping it from continuing its invasion, then the entire attack would quickly be focused on her, and it might just be that all these students and teachers weren't enough to hold it back.

Still, this was the only plan with a reasonable chance of success, so it was the one she would stick with. She took Jenn's hand for mutual comfort, and followed the older students out of the hall, and immediately reached out for the storm, getting a feel for what would be needed to keep it going for another quarter of an hour strongly enough to keep more creatures from landing safely.

Charles nodded wordlessly at Ashleys words, and headed toward the kitchens without a glance back or a word in response. Along the way, he grabbed two other grown students who had been left behind, one of whom had been the one that Chloe had saved earlier. Jenn squeezed her hand warmly, a nervous smile on the girls face, as they headed out of the dining hall. The hallway outside was largely undamaged, the only sign of the invasion amidst the stone hall was a trail of slime that was already drying. It led back into the room they'd just left, and the nearer parts were the freshest. They followed the other groups to the left, and eventually emerged outside.

It was a scene of utter chaos, only fast forwarded about ten minutes. The bodies of at least twenty people, students and faculty and visitors alike, had been gathered in neat rows in the far right corner of the large courtyard that they had stepped into. They weren't being watched, and Ashley saw more than a few patches of blood and several people with their bodies bent at odd angles. At the opposite corner was an infirmary, with about twice as many people as were among the dead. Most of them seemed to be women, some of whom were tied down and many of whom were sporting slightly bulging bellies. There were already about two hundred other people within the yard, and the howling wind had just begun to die down as she and Jenn stepped outside, their hands still clasped together. Many were already well organized, and as she came outside, the woman who had taught her conjuration rushed up toward her.

Her name was Professor Veronica Lambert, as Ashley recalled, and she quickly said; "The ones managing the winds are gathering over there." She pointed toward a small garden that marked the way into a large greenhouse, where about seven other men and women were gathered. All of them were students, however, and many of them were visibly strained even from as far away as Ashley was. "Jennifer, you should go join those forming on the far side of the courtyard. Your talents will be best used there." She then promptly turned and head the way she'd just pointed herself, where two dozen people were already gathered together, not yet seemingly doing anything.

Chloe awoke, her head aching severely as her eyes fluttered open. She felt something cold beneath her, and after a few bleary moments she realized that she was on the floor of the kitchens, curled up into the fetal position. Tesnya was crouched over her, the other girls face expressionless until Chloe stirred and opened her eyes. Her face softened, wearyness and concern there for a moment, and she said; "Good. You're all right. I was worried that I hadn't intervened in time for a moment." Through the girls legs, she spotted a pair of bodies, the slime covering their bodies now mixed with blood. One of their heads was simply gone, an bloody stump where it had once been, but the other girl looked completely untouched. Her eyes were open, but fixated upon nothing. Empty. "They almost got you. They were trying to take you, make you like them."

A moment later, the doors opened, and Charles walked in, flanked by two students, one of whom was the girl Chloe herself had rescued from the trio of juggernauts. Or, at least she'd helped.

Ashley reluctantly let go of her friend's hand. She would be vulnerable while trying to hold the storm, but Jenn could help more by joining the formal defenses then by standing over her. "Okay. I guess I better hurry up, then." It wouldn't be long before the winds were low enough that more invaders could start landing, and it was clear from the carnage that she'd seen in the previous room that the Academy couldn't stand up to that for long. Fifteen minutes, that was how long the teachers said they would need to be able to bring down the entire thing. Ashley tried not to think about what fifteen minutes worth of invaders landing would look like, given the numbers they'd seen in the brief time between when the ship had arrived and when her storm had hit.

She walked over to the group of students who had apparently been trying to maintain the wind while she was inside. They had done well, but it was clear that they were flagging at this point. Suddenly, Ashley was glad that she had managed to pull some energy from that beast, however dirty it had made her feel. Without that she would be at least as beat as these students, and wouldn't be able to bring the storm back for even a single minute. As it was... well, she would see. She looked up at her storm, which was slowing down and starting to break apart. She would have to hurry, or go through the considerably larger effort of re-starting the thing from scratch. But first she would have to make sure she wasn't working against her fellow students.

She looked at the students again. They didn't look good. "Well, I think it's about time that I took back control of my storm. It has to hold out for a while longer, while the faculty prepare some magic to actually destroy that thing, whatever it is." It was probably better not to tell them exactly how long. "To that end, we're going to make this into a cyclone, rotating counter-clockwise around us. There are two parts ot that, if we're going to hold it for any length of time. The first is making the clouds rotate, but that alone will make the entire thing fly apart in minutes. So the other half is making hot air in the center. That will create a second, vertical rotation that will hold the storm together. If any of you have any particular facility with heat or pressure, work on the center. Everyone else help make this thing start rotating again. If you have objections, keep them brief, because the storm is already flagging."
