Re: Destined Union (Jenna)

"I could care less about the sword at this moment," he announced, "Just get off of me!" he shouted, finally seeming to be at his limit, before rushing at Jenna and slamming his hands hard enough against her chest. But rather than his strength before that nearly threw her off before she raped him, it was as if something pathetically weak was pushing at her, and trying to force her off. His strength had greatly diminished from before.

Upon finding how useless it was, he only stared at Jenna with contempt as he fell backwards, absolute shame now present on his face at his helplessness.

Re: Destined Union (Jenna)

Jenna looked on with annoyance and amusement as the Griffin slammed his fists into her chest. It was like those times back at home when she had held a baby in her arms, and it had flailed at her breast. He looked up at her with contempt in his eyes, allowing himself to fall down backwards again as he realized how useless his attempts were.

"Are you done yet?" Jenna asked, her voice dripping with her annoyance. She squatted down over him and patted his chest a few times, asking "do you even realize how much of a child you're being? It's like I'm in charge of the nursery in the village again." The lizardgirl sighed heavily, backing away a little and reaching out a hand to help the soldier up. "Just get over it and act like you have some sense. I swear to you on my honor and in the sight of the Gods, I won't attempt to force you into sex or anything of the kind. Now come on, let's go."

Re: Destined Union (Jenna)

Instead of taking Jenna's hand, the man hesitated that action for just a moment. "Just what are you playing at? You and I have no relation, and somehow I doubt you're just being kind. I expect you to tell me," he said, before grabbing her hand, and pulling himself up with her aid, "After you get me my sword back as you've said, and we settle our fight from last time. Hopefully without you raping me again."

Jenna frowned as the soldier hesitated and spoke to her a bit before taking her hand and allowing her to pull him up. "And why couldn't I just be kind? Am I incapable for some reason?" she asked. This guy was really annoying her. "I didn't think we would have any fight to settle. I would have won even if you hadn't penetrated me, you know. Still, I guess we could fight again once this is over, and I will not rape you!" She was trying to poke at him a little, to pay him back in some measure for his repeated insults. "Now follow me, we've got to go find my sister" she said, turning to the forest with a nervous twitch in her eye. She really didn't like this situation, not the least bit, as she began to walk in after Gren.

Re: Destined Union (Jenna)

"Because you and I are enemies, I thought that would be clear given how you attacked me and my group. Do you always do this to individuals you meet for the first time?" he sighed, finding her equally annoying. "Once I get a weapon, lizard, I'll make you eat your overconfident words." he stated to her, before he turned, and walked after where Grenberia ran away, not listening to Jenna's reply, his only message to her being the last thing he said. Dislike each other they did as they traveled through the forest, after Grenberia, but her trail went on for great distances. Taking note of her footprints, Griffin sighed. "These footprints are always just as fresh as the last, no matter our pace. She's avoiding us deliberately." he shook his head, "I'll simply get a replacement sword. I won't chase after this child," he stated, before heading back the way they came. Saying nothing, he marched his way back towards his camp, where Jenna would very much not be welcome. However, he didn't seem to care too much if she followed or not. In fact, his pace was one of abandonment, as if his intent was to leave her behind.

Re: Destined Union (Jenna)

"I've already told you I didn't intend to ambush you like that, and wouldn't have except for my sister" Jenna said, sighing. "But of course I challenged you. It's what we do. To test yourself against worthy opponents is important. For a number of reasons." After all, there was no other way to find a suitable mate. "Maybe you will" she replied to his assertion that he would beat her as soon as he had a weapon, shrugging.

The two walked silently through the forest, following Grenberia's tracks, but they seemed to go on forever. Jenna's right eye twitched as her eyes darted from side to side, following the impressions in the dirt, though she soon discovered exactly what the Griffin did; the tracks were always equally fresh, regardless of whether they sped up or slowed down. She's clearly avoiding us... Why would she challenge me to a duel like that and then just avoid me. It doesn't make any sense... she thought, stopping when the soldier stopped.

He turned and began to walk away at a brisk pace, and she didn't hesitate long, turning to follow him. She couldn't just go back to his camp, that would cause endless problems. Who knew how many soldiers there were there? But she couldn't just let him go. She would have to tell him her true purpose... When she reached him she grabbed his arm, firmly, but not forcefully. "Wait. You asked me why I sought out the Griffin, and I didn't give you much of an answer. I wasn't sure if I should tell you... But hear me out" she said quietly, looking at him carefully. "I... had a dream. An angel came to me in a dream and told me to find the Griffin. To teach him that monsters aren't evil by default. It showed us... together, fighting against evil." The lizardgirl was frowning slightly as she finished the tale. "I don't know how to convince you that any of this is true, but I swear on my honor that it is."

Re: Destined Union (Jenna)

The black haired man stopped in place. As if he was a construct, his head slowly turned to face Jenna, his expression to her one that regarded her as someone who had completely lost their mind. "... An angel... And getting along with monsters..." he went over what she said, before taking the tip of his sheath, and placing the tip into the ground, and leaning on it for support. "It seems I underestimated you... You aren't stupid, you're insane. Someone extremely dangerous. One thing I'll have you know, Jenna," he gave her the dignity of actually calling her by her name, "is that angels are beings who desire the destruction of monsters. An angel telling you to try and unite our races is simply absurd. If that was the only reason behind your persistence, you can give up now. What you had was only a dream. You shouldn't trust such unreliable images your mind fabricates. Humans and monsters have been sworn enemies since the days when humanity began to rise. As a race quickly gaining power, your ancient races were threatened, and sought to kill and devour the humans while they were still weak. Our relationship began with conflict, and it will end with conflict. In the end, the angels are the ones who favor the human race, and protect us over those influenced by the Demon Lord, hence your humanoid form, and increased intelligence over your ancestors. Do you understand the difference between us now?"

Re: Destined Union (Jenna)

The look on the Griffin’s face told Jenna just about what he thought of her dream. It was an almost worried look. The kind of look you might give someone who was stark raving mad and who might, at any moment, do something terribly unfortunate… He basically said as much as he leaned on his sheath, looking at her carefully. Still, he called her by name. That counted for something, right?

The lizardgirl listened carefully to what he said next, thinking over her response. She could understand his skepticism, in a way. She wasn’t quite sure how what she was saying was true. To be frank, it did sound ludicrous. But it really was true, and she knew it. She could feel it. There had to be some logic to it, something to convince him! It took her a while to figure it out, but by the time he had asked her if she understood the gulf between them, she had hit upon something that at least made sense to her.

"I’m not insane, and I’m not that dangerous. I’m idealistic, maybe more than normal, but I’m not insane! The angel specifically mentioned a man called ‘the Griffin,’ a swordsman who was a leader of men. I’m not stupid, humans don’t come here often. A group of soldiers, this far from any human settlement? It’s almost unheard of around here. You’re really telling me that I’ve just gone mad and that my mind has fabricated a dream that fits with reality so perfectly?" It was her turn to look at him as if he were crazy, for doubting something that seemed so obvious. "As for why an angel would tell me this… I don’t know that. All I know is that even angels aren’t exempt from the whims of Fate, much less us. All of these things have conspired to bring the two of us together, here and now. We can’t just shrug it off as coincidence and go on as if nothing is happening. That would be too easy. Too comfortable. We have to face what Fate has decided for us."

Jenna furrowed her brow, frowning as she tried to find the words to address the latter half of his comments. "Yes, you’re right about one thing. Our races have been enemies since the beginning. But that doesn’t make it the right way, and it doesn’t make it inevitable or permanent! The Demon Lord granted us intelligence to better equip us to fight, yes, but that also gave us the ability to reason. To see a better way! There will always be conflict, because there will always be differences of opinion and interests. There’s conflict between monsters. There’s conflict between humans. But you wouldn’t say that any one group of humans must, by necessity, hate another. They can reconcile their differences, and if not live together, accept that the other should be allowed their own ways. It can be like that between our kinds! We and our kin will have to learn at least to accept one another, and to rally together against the evil that exists in this world. Otherwise things will continue on as they always have. Hatred and pain and death that could all be avoided. I’ve seen it do horrible things. We can’t let that go on and still claim to be civilized beings" she said, sometimes quietly, other times with a loud passion in her voice.

And there it was, her crazy idealism, built up around the more traditional values she held, like honor and reverence and communal pride. It was perhaps quite heterodox. But it was what she had come to believe over the course of her quiet contemplation alone in her cave. It was also built around her perspective on her parents’ marriage. Though her mother was something of an authoritarian with her husband just as with her daughters, the two of them loved each other very much, and there had always been something magical about that to Jenna. It wasn’t true of all couples in the grand hollow, though there were many for whom it was. She had always thought that those others were missing out on one of the most important things in life. Her parents seemed so happy together, to strengthen each other just by their presence. She wanted that for herself, very much so. She wanted that for Gren too, and all of her kind, even if their priorities were… different. The lizardgirl couldn’t help but think that their way of looking at the world was nothing short of depressing.

"So yes, I do understand the difference between us now. But unlike you, I see a path to a future where that difference is smaller, where the two of us aren’t enemies by default. We can work towards that future. Together. And we can face down the evils that confront both of us" she said finally, a sort of tiredness to her voice. She was certain he would fight back against her words, and she wasn’t sure if she was up to the task of convincing him of her rightness, but she would try her damndest. It was all she could do.

Re: Destined Union (Jenna)

The man stared at Jenna as she made her argument, before letting out a sigh as she brought out the logic of the situation. His location in the forest, her dream, and when she defined him as the leader of men, he frowned a little at her after her explanations. He didn't reply initially, only looking at her with a more straight posture as if waiting for anything more she had to say. After concluding that she had finished, he closed his eyes, letting out a low hum. "You're an outcast from your society, I take it?" he inquired, but didn't act as though he needed an answer, continuing on without her reply. "I can only assume you're speaking to me about this with such passion because I'm one of the first whom you've told..." He slips his sheath onto his belt, before letting his right arm hang at his side, and putting his left arm on his hip. "I understand you can picture a perfect world of happiness and joy, where everyone gets along. Many can, but thinking and doing are two different things."

Taking a deep breath, and closing his eyes, he rose his right arm, and covered his eyes with his hand, and squeezed his temples. "You really intend to follow me, I think, until you convince me of your stupid beliefs. But amongst my traveling companions, you will be quickly killed. That leaves only one option for you. If you want me to come along with your ridiculous self, my companions will have to understand that I've been kidnapped. I'm without a weapon with which to defend myself, so it only makes sense." he said with conclusion.

He seemed almost too ready to abandon the others he was with, and saying Jenna was kidnapping him almost just seemed like an excuse to be rid of them. "For now, Jenna, you can call me Griffin, or anything you want, really. I don't care what you call me. While I'm kidnapped, I expect you to show me just how serious you are about what you said. If you're just all talk, I'll take my leave of you," he warned her.

Re: Destined Union (Jenna)

Jenna peered at the Griffin carefully after she had ceased speaking, trying to read his expression. He looked at her somewhat blankly, a slight frown on his face as he seemed to wait for her to continue on, though she had no more to say. Finally he closed his eyes and let out a quiet hum, not quite a sigh. He accused her of being an outcast, which was not entirely true, not technically at least, though he kept speaking without regard for any answer she might give. He was exactly right that she hadn’t told anyone else about this before, besides idle chatter with Gren that had obviously not stuck.

The lizardgirl tilted her head as the Griffin seemed to offer to be “kidnapped.” He seemed to be quite willing to abandon the other soldiers and come along with her, which was a little bit confusing. Maybe he wasn’t quite as stubborn as he had made himself out to be… Maybe there was hope in this. He was at least giving her a chance, and if he gave her a chance she knew that she could show him that at least the two of them could get along.

"First, I’m not really an outcast. I live on my own, but I left out of my own free will. My mother and I… she’s very strict and uptight, and it got to the point where I needed some peace and quiet for a while" she said, wanting to set the record straight. It wasn’t like her village had rejected her or something. "Second… Thank you. I won’t disappoint you." She was trying to think of what to do now, how to handle this, and she wasn’t coming up with anything. Finally she just decided to bring him back to her home. She would show him all the hospitality she could muster in her humble abode. "Alright, follow me" she said, lightly grabbing his wrist and walking him a few steps in the direction of her cave before letting go, allowing him to walk behind or beside her at his own pace.

He scoffed at her, "Don't sound so happy already when you've only-Oi!" he gestured in protest when she took his wrist, and led him along. Although he went with it quickly, given his statement from before. "Don't lead me along by the wrist like that. We aren't so close," he lectured her. Then, upon arriving at her cave, he made a light hum, "Cozy, I suppose..." he offered in comment to the setup Jenna had for herself inside. "Not natural either, did you dig it? It's uphill, so it's unlikely to be natural after all."

Re: Destined Union (Jenna)

"Oh, don't be such a whiner" Jenna replied, waving dismissively at the Griffin. "It was just for a second, to get you to follow me. A little bit of contact like that isn't a big deal at all." The two of them made fairly good time through the forest once they reached the path, and it wasn't long before her cave was in sight.

"Yes, it's a nice little home" she replied to the soldier's comment, even though he probably wasn't being entirely serious in his statement. "It would be better to have a door, but I didn't have a way of making one at the time." Yes, he was almost certainly being facetious, considering the inside of the cave; the only real furniture was the small, simple bed and the one chest of drawers she had brought with her, though one side of the cave had a smoothed-out bench area carved into it for sitting.

"Yes, I dug it out with my claws. It seemed like a suitable challenge when I first left home, a way to train my strength and sharpen my claws. It wasn't too difficult, and it didn't take much time. I've been thinking of building something more traditional, though" Jenna said as they walked inside. "Um, would you mind turning around? I need to change clothes, this armor isn't very comfortable."

Re: Destined Union (Jenna)

Turning around without a word in reply or protest, Griffin stood with his back to Jenna, allowing her to change as he folded his arms under his chest. "Your claws must be fairly powerful then. Why don't your people use those instead of weapons humans prefer to use?" he inquired. The answer was simply that, to use one's claws to fight was considered a deep dishonor to yourself, and the entire race of lizards. It's heavily looked down upon, and the only time it's okay to use one's claws is outside of combat, such as for digging as Jenna has already done.

As she was getting dressed, her new attire caught her foot, and caused her to stumble lightly. Losing her balance, she began to fall beyond her control, heading straight for Griffin. And then she caught herself before anything could happen, thankfully.

Re: Destined Union (Jenna)

Once the Griffin had turned Jenna began to strip, first taking off her armor. As she carefully put the breastplate and thigh and shoulder guards away she listened to his question, nodding as she reached down to grab her short dress. "Well, using your claws in battle is a taboo. Much like blindfolding your opponent by trickery..." she said, wincing as she said the last bit. "To use them in combat is to dishonor yourself gravely."

She slipped her dress up over her head, carefully placing it on her bed before unwrapping her breasts. She let out a sigh of relief and breathed deeply now that the restriction was gone, and she reached into her drawer to pull out some panties. She had learned the hard way that they could be useful today... As she was pulling them up over her feet they got stuck, and she lost her balance, hopping around and generally getting very close to crashing into the Griffin before managing to steady herself with her tail. She let out another sigh of relief, pulling them secure and then putting her dress on again.

"You can turn around again, I'm decent" she said, giving the last adjustments to her outfit. The dress would be a bit tighter in the chest than he remembered it being earlier not that her breasts were unbound, and without the breastplate Jenna was showing just a bit of cleavage, though she didn't have all that much to show. "So, would you like something to drink? I can make tea, if you'd like. Other than that all I have is lukewarm water, I'm afraid" she said, trying to be hospitable.

Re: Destined Union (Jenna)

"Tea will be fine, pardon my intrusion." he said with sudden, surprising respect. Even the way he held himself seemed more respectful of Jenna now that he was in her domain. "So it would seem you find your sister to have forsaken your race's honor? What about using your genitals to drain the enemy's strength during battle? Is that permitted?" he inquired. "That was the first time, for every meaning of the phrase. First time as well, feeling the fabled effects of intimacies with mamono. I truly felt as if all of my fighting spirit was leaving my body..." he trailed off as his eyes shifted to Jenna, although they weren't looking at her face. When he caught himself, he quickly looked away as the memories of her on top of him returned.

Standing in place, he did not seek a seat of any kind unless Jenna gave him permission to do so.

Re: Destined Union (Jenna)

Jenna was taken aback somewhat by the Griffin's apology, and it took her a moment to reply "alright" and move over behind the chest of drawers, carefully pulling out a tea kettle and a thin bit of metal shaped much like a couple of wickets with a thin sheet connecting them. The lizardgirl then carried it out to the firepit Grenberia had used that morning to cook the meat, setting up the wickets straddling it and setting down the kettle, then filling it with water and moving around to get the kindling ready.

His question made her spin around somewhat angrily, though. "Damn it, I keep telling you that was an accident!" she shouted, her claws clenched at her sides. Curiously the soldier seemed to be indicating that it had been his first time as well, though she paid little mind to it. She did, however, catch him staring at her breasts... That certainly wasn't going to go without comment. "Hey, I see where you're looking! And you call me a pervert!"

Jenna took a deep breath and held it for a moment before exhaling slowly, unclenching her claws. "I'm sorry, I just don't like it when you start calling me a rapist, okay? I judged that I had an advantage over you in raw strength, so I went in close to grab you and put you into a submission hold. I didn't plan on losing my virginity to you then... Is a monster allowed to dream of romance for her first time?" The lizardgirl had a much more even tone to her voice now, having calmed down.

"You can sit if you want while you wait, anywhere is fine" she said quietly, turning back to prepare a fire. It wasn't too long before she had a decent one going, and she then set the kettle on the little metal sheet above the fire. Once she was satisfied with that she walked back behind her chest of drawers and took out two tall wooden "glasses," made in the traditional way by using her claws to carefully hollow out bits of wood, and then set them down on the ground. "So we have some time before it's ready. Care to tell me a bit about yourself? You don't have to get into anything too detailed if you don't want to" Jenna asked, sitting opposite him whether he chose to sit on the stone bench to the side, the ground, or her bed.

"Regardless, you were careless," Griffin stated. "If you truly did not want that to happen, then you should not grapple with your opponent from anywhere but behind. Especially with me laying on my back... What did you expect to happen? You really slammed yourself down on me, that much was on purpose. Though if you hadn't, I'd have quickly thrown you off and finished the fight. This is why I blame you for what happened, as because of that, you had won the fight. Are you going to deny your victory?" he inquired, holding off on revealing any details of himself until the current matter was settled as he took a seat against the wall, on the floor.

"Careless, perhaps" Jenna replied, watching as the Griffin sat against the cave wall. "The situation dictated my actions. I couldn't have reliably gotten behind you to grapple, so I attacked you head on. At the time I wasn't thinking about the possibility that something sexual might happen anyway. I didn't expect you to become aroused fighting with me, nor did I expect you to... come free of your pants like that. If that hadn't happened I maintain that I could still have defeated you while you were restrained, considering that I'm physically stronger than you" the lizardgirl continued, shrugging. It was true enough that she hadn't considered the potential consequences of her actions. Her inexperience had bitten her there.

The man let out a grunt. "You'd have defeated me by pounding your hips down? I can't wait to prove you wrong by defeating you when I get my sword back, provided you don't sexually assault me during the struggle." he jabbed. "Where's my tea already? I'm thirsty." he stated impatiently.

Re: Destined Union (Jenna)

"Of course not" Jenna said, snorting and waving dismissively. "I would have used my head. It's much harder than yours. Physically, not metaphorically" she replied, tapping on her temple. About the time the Griffin complained that he was thirsty, the tea kettle began to whistle, cutting the lizardgirl short from making a snide comment. "Well it's good that the tea is ready, then" she said, getting up and walking back to the fire, taking the kettle off of it.

Once she had brought the kettle back and sat it on the ground she went to get a small leaf out of a can in one of her drawers, placing it in a special compartment in the teakettle. "It still needs a minute to soak" Jenna said, sitting back down. "Otherwise you won't get any taste." She wagged her finger at him as if scolding his lack of patience, grinning a little as she did so. After a minute she poured the hot tea into the two wooden cups, picking up hers and blowing on it. "Careful with yours, it's really hot and your hands might get burned" she warned, hunching over the drink. "You never answered my question from before either, you know."
