ACT [Kyrieru] Kurovadis (RE093841)

Re: Kurovadis (OUT NOW! BUY IT)

speaking of the gravity thingie, about two rooms before the final final boss of the game (the room with increased gravity where you can't jump high), there seems to be an opening above with something, can I just confirm that area is just something left there to mess with my mind, or is there really something up there?

Re: Kurovadis (OUT NOW! BUY IT)

You can use one of the metroid-like things to get up there.

...There's nothing to get, but it's possible.

Re: Kurovadis (OUT NOW! BUY IT)

Bah, beat to the answer. I was saddened to find no reward for my cleverness as well.

Re: Kurovadis (OUT NOW! BUY IT)

Just posting this direct quote from about what he's planning about the game's theme.

kyrieru said:
"Now, to give you an update on my next game. I'm not going to go into it too much, but I will say that it involves ghosts who possess people and creatures, and a lantern that can capture them, represented by the flame it burns. Make of that what you will, and feel free to guess what the hell the game will be like."

He's doing a unique approach here, using both weapon and mechanics which is rarely seen. Me like!

Re: Kurovadis (OUT NOW! BUY IT)

Aww... I really liked how that knight looked. I personally prefer playing as competent fighters instead of schoolgirls or red riding hoods or similar things. And I'm no fan of ghost things... However, that's just personal preferences of course: There's just no way to make anything that matches everyone's preferences though so I won't complain more than I just did here!

Beside, I absolutely adored Kurovadis so I'm still very much looking foward to the next game: Even if the setting is not my favorite, it can still be an amazingly fun game. Who knows, Kyrieru might have a super clever gameplay idea revolving around this.

I definitively see your point, I would also prefer a fighter over this but with the way Kyrieru pull off Kurovadis, I have no doubt that he will be able to make this game good regardless of my/any personal preference.

I will probably fall for it's charm as i did for Kuro.

Re: Kurovadis (OUT NOW! BUY IT)

Sorry to revive this buuut.. I have no idea where else to ask.
Kyrieru, what programs/script/whatever did you use to program Kurovadis? I dredged the thread but couldn't find an answer to this question. Knowing my luck I skimmed past it, so I apologize if you've already answered this.

Re: Kurovadis (OUT NOW! BUY IT)

I think he plans to make a walkthrough for others. I saw it on a previous post on his blog.

Re: Kurovadis (OUT NOW! BUY IT)

I use Game Maker.

As for the walkthrough, until I do something like that I'm going to put a page on my blog that goes over everything I use, and a couple other things, cause I get this kind of question and others in emails quite often, haha.

Re: Kurovadis (OUT NOW! BUY IT)

I can't for the life of me figure out what to do after beating the second boss o.0

Re: Kurovadis (OUT NOW! BUY IT)

I know I'm late, but I just found out about this game.
I think I've beaten the demo (killed tentacle scientist boss, got flame thrower, burned some plants) and I've really enjoyed it so far.
How much longer is the full game?

Re: Kurovadis (OUT NOW! BUY IT)

There are 2 other levels/bosses. It's a pretty short game.

Re: Kurovadis (OUT NOW! BUY IT)

Totally worth the $5. Just sayin'.

Re: Kurovadis (OUT NOW! BUY IT)

Will your newest game have a demo released?

Re: Kurovadis (OUT NOW! BUY IT)

I really hope it works out for you being a game developer full time. Kurovadis was honestly the best all around h-game I have ever played. I'm looking forward to your next one.

Re: Kurovadis (OUT NOW! BUY IT)

Yeah I find myself playing Kuro just for fun. Most of the animations are freakin' sexy, and almost all of the enemies in the game have one. Good luck, and I wish you (and your workstation) the best of health.
