The only sound that the man made when Pale grabbed him from behind was a muffled grunt of surprise, and once her hand was over his mouth all he could do was squirm in her grasp in an attempt to alert his comrades. The euphoria of feeding left her just slightly light headed as the man's struggles weakened, his blood flowing freely into her mouth, until the sniper went limp in her arms, his pulse now so weak that she could barely feel it, though it was likely that he would survive so long as he didn't lose any more blood.

Taking up his rifle, Pale could see the caravan approaching easily with her own eyes, making the weapon's scope unnecessary. They were drawing close, and she could see the would-be thieves in the alley below tensing in readiness as the wagon with her allies drew nearer. The three men on the roof across the street were already taking aim at where the cart would be when they intended to start their ambush, when the wagon had just passed the alley in which the rest of the thieves were huddled.

Reconsidering her plan for a moment, Pale decides that it wouldn't do to let the caravan be attacked from both sides. Stepping into another shadow, the vampire emerges behind the trio on the other rooftop before exploding into action, quickly striking the closest of them on the back of his head, launching a kick at the second one and slamming bodily against the third, hopefully without much noise.

Leaving the rifle atop the church, Pale vanished and then appeared on the other roof that the bandits were using for their ambush. Slamming the heel of her hand onto the back of the first one's head, he tumbled to the ground and proceeded to fall off of the roof in front of the men in the alleyway. Unfortunately, that caused enough noise to alert the other two on the roof, and they turned toward her just as she launched into her kick. The gun in the hands of the man that she'd just struck went off, and Pale felt the bullet whizz past her neck even as her foot slammed into his belly hard enough to knock the wind out of him. The other tried to shoot her as she dove at him, but the both of them missed handily as he stepped out of Pale's way and she went flying past him. The gunshots and the falling man had caused enough of a stir that there was now a ruckus over in the alleyway, and the caravan had stopped in the path of the alleyway as the other guards formed to defend it from whatever was happening.

Swearing under her breath as the weapons go off and the second man refuses to fall, Pale drives her fist to his face hard, likely breaking his nose in the process of knocking him out.Were the man to fall, the vampire would turn towards the last one remaining on the roof, snatching his arm before trying to kick his legs from under him, hopefully landing on top.

Pale's fist smashed into the second bandit's face, knocking him flat onto his back and leaving him completely unconscious, such that he almost tumbled off of the roof. The other man, seeing this, did tumble off of the roof, though his movement was well controlled, as he dove into a roll that left him on his feet. He started running down the alley, but Pale was free to follow him if she wished to. She could hear scrambling from the opposite alleyway, but no gunshots, and the group on the ground were now looking up in confusion at her. "Oi!" the guard captain called up at her, "What are you doin up there?"

"Just making sure there's no ambush, captain." Pale replies back to the guardsman, smiling delightfully as she leans down to relieve the unconscious men of any valuables. The looting done, the vampire slides down from the roof perhaps a touch too showily before rejoining the others, still smiling to herself.

The man didn't have much... Just his rifle, some spare ammunition, a small copper key with the letters "XYZA" stamped onto it, a couple of coins, and the clothes off his back. The caravan watched Pale climb down and rejoin them with an air of confusion, and the guard captain then says; "Oi, get them down here! I need to arrest them!"

Once Pale had complied and the bandits that she'd knocked out were safely tied up, the caravan was underway once more, minus one city guard who had been left to wait with the thieves. They encountered no more troubles, and arrived at a walled estate only a short while later, at which point the captain strode forward and had a brief conversation with one of the house guards. He came back a moment later and said; "Alright, looks like your work is done gents. And lady. We've just gotta get these bars inside, and we'll all get our pay."

Pale picks up the spare ammunition and the rifle as well as the coins, not being very interested in hunting down some lock that she could probably pick if she ever came across it anyway. The vampire doesn't waste words, instead pulling the pair of unconscious men down from the roof, not especially caring if they get hurt a little.

As they arrive at the destination, Pale waits with the others for the orders before getting to unloading the payload with the other guards, though carefully not displaying her superhuman strength to the others.

(Pale gains a Badarian Lever Action rifle, 9 denarii, and ammo for said rifle from ye looting. She then gets another 20 denarii for ye job.)

The men seem slightly surprised that Pale is willing to help with the manual labor after they bring the cart into the estates. The guards watched them carefully, but there were no incidents and after they'd gotten the crates off of the wagon, the merchant came out of the house and handed the guard captain a bag of coins. He counted out twenty coins to each of the mercenaries, including Pale, once they were outside the gates of the estate once more. "Good work, I'll keep yah in mind if I need this sort of work done again!"

Taking the coins and bidding good night to the captain and the merchant, Pale heads back into the city, searching for a lower-class establishment where she could get a bed in a windowless room with little chance of major disturbance during the day. A bath would be nice as well, but hardly essential.

Low class inns were a dime a dozen in Lockacre, and Pale had her pick of them before the night was out. Finding one with a room with no windows and a bath wasn't too difficult, and after a good half an hour Pale had settled on the Thrashing Mare. It cost her five coins for her bath and her room, but it included breakfast the next day, and she didn't have to pay to have it brought up to her. Several whores worked the main room as well, Badarian women in cheap dresses and a lot of makeup that had likely seen a good deal of use, but would at least serve to sate her appetite if she felt that such was necessary.

Not really paying attention to the other customers and assorted people in the common room, Pale simply hands over the required denarii to the innkeeper before heading to her room and then to the bath, where-ever that would be.

The baths, as it turned out, were fairly public, though they were segregated between the sexes. Directed to a large stone building behind the inn, Pale was given a towel and a locker key for her things if she'd rather not leave them in her room. The stone building, more like a box really, had two doors that were marked between the sexes, and Pale entered the one on the right to find a tiny changing room on her right and another door directly ahead that was covered by a curtain. Steam wafted in from that direction, suggesting hot water, and after stowing her clothes in whatever locker she preferred (unless she'd rather just leave them out) the vampire was free to head to the next room however she pleased.

Inside was a lone woman who looked to be in her early forties, but despite her apparent age she still possessed a modicum of beauty. Her hair was still dark save for spots of grey near her temples, and though her medium-sized breasts sagged slightly they were still pleasantly firm, and their dark-colored peaks were just barely visible beneath the steamy, rippling water. She was just barely on the pudgy side, and her skin possessed only a handful of wrinkles and sags compared to what it normally might. Sharp blue eyes popped open and looked up at Pale, and she smiled warmly at the vampire, who she likely viewed as just another woman taking a bath, and said; "Evening miss! Don't mind me, I'm just having a soak for a while before I see myself off to bed." The bath was easily large enough to accommodate the both of them, a stone bench lining the sunken, square chamber for her to sit while the warm water bubbled up and was filtered out through a system of pipes hidden beneath the floor. She could climb in however she preferred, as close or as far from the other woman as she would find comfortable.

Taking the towel and the key, Pale leaves her pack in her own room before heading into the bath house. Stripping down, the vampire places her clothes into one of the free lockers and heads into the bath proper.

Mildly surprised at finding someone else at the baths at this time, Pale hesitantly answers the smile. "Good evening." the vampire replies in her usual quiet voice before slipping into the hot water, dipping her head underneath before taking a seat just far enough from the other woman not to intrude.

Pale turns her head to regard the strange woman again. "An interesting suggestion-" Pale starts to say, but her words are cut off as she yawns, covering her mouth with a hand, "-but it really has been a long night for me, and I'm just looking to soak myself for a while before going to sleep."

"Suit yourself~" the woman replied cheerfully, and largely gave Pale no further heed as she soaked in the warm water. She got up before Pale was finished, unashamed at her nudity, and while she wasn't exactly young the woman was still in good shape, obviously having made an effort to maintain her appearance. "Have a nice night, stranger!" the woman said brightly as she grabbed for a towel, and then Pale was left along. She was finished bathing as well soon enough, and was then free to proceed up to her room to sleep through the day.

Watching after the older woman, Pale continues to relax in the bath for a while before washing herself and going to her room. Brushing the robe and making sure there are no stains that would need to be washed off - and reminding herself that she'd need to return it eventually, preferably in good condition - the vampire takes apart the guns - both her own rifle and the new one - and cleans and oils them before putting them back together. After cleaning her hands, Pale finally lays down on her bed, soon sinking into dreamless sleep.

Pale was able to return to her room unmolested after her bath, and went to bed just before dawn after cleaning her guns. Other than a knock at her door around midday that turned out to be a maid asking if she'd like to come down for lunch, Pale's rest went undisturbed as well, and she awoke as the sun set to to a new night that she was free to use how she wished.

The day flies by quickly, and Pale spends her time resting as usual, with only a single minor interruption. When the sun sets, Pale is already up and about, checking her gear before starting to pace about, then checking it again before deciding that the sun must have set and heading into the common room. If the common room was full, Pale would quietly depart, going somewhere more quiet to find prey. If it was less than full, however, she'd approach the counter. "Excuse me, what do you have to eat here?"
