The forest is almost as difficult to move in as it was during the night, with branches and roots everywhere, and nettles and thorny bushes seem to be just about the only undergrowth apart from some bushes with bright orange berries and some blue flowers here and there. The forest also seems unnaturally quiet, and Jasmine seems to be on the edge.

Helena nodded. "Its not mine either" She said quietly, trying not to think about the unnatural stillness of the forest around them, but still infinitely glad that it was daylight. "We should probably move a little faster Jasmine... Something is making my hair stand on end."

The people are wearing simple clothes of wool and leather. They carefully keep their eyes on their jobs, not looking at the newcomers, but the feeling of fear and resignation is so deepseated in the village that Helena can almost taste it. Jasmine leads Helena to a large building that turns out to be an inn, and as they approach, Helena can see heavy shutters covering the windows, ones that though are open now, would surely be bolted come the nightfall. As Jasmine opens the door to the inn - a simple and sturdy piece of wood on even sturdier holdings - Helena gets a good look at the innkeeper who is a hard-faced man with eyes filled with suspicious. He stares at the pair as they approach, as if they might attack him at any moment, and his right hand is clenching onto a sturdy wooden piece with silvered nails hammered through its head as a child would hold onto his favorite toy, the one that keeps monsters at bay while he cowers under his covers.

Helena tried her best to keep the fear that seemed to permeate the town from getting to her, and failed. It was so much harder when you didn't know what you were fearing, only that you were afraid... As they entered the in, Helena looked at the innkeeper, and then at what he was holding in his hand.

Shrinking back a little, Helena waved in a friendly manner, hoping to put the man at ease. "Hello..."

The meal arrives soon. It's cured meat and vegetables that have seen better days, with too little seasoning, but all in all not too bad tasting.
