"A village like this can't just exist by itself. The roads lead to somewhere and there must be bigger towns at least, probably even some cities. And where there's civilization, there will be scholars of some sort. That's who we need to find to make some sense of all this. And it's better than staying here."

"I guess your right Jasmine, as always" Helena said with a sigh, "Should we leave today? or wait for first light tomorrow, I have the distinct impression this place is more then a little dangerous at night" She asked as she looked down at the people working the fields below.

"If we leave today, there's a good chance that we'll have to spend the night out on the open. If we wait until tomorrow, there's probably a village or at least some sort of shelter we could reach before dark." Jasmine looks out as well. "We'll probably be safe enough inside."

Helena nodded, but was still wary. "We can't trust people who trust no one else, We should be careful nonetheless Jasmine" She said, It was frightening to be in this situation, so far from her home, with not real ability. "You said I may have talent, Could you teach me, like you did so many times before?" She asked tentatively.

"I can teach you, but it's not going to be easy. We'll have to start from the beginning. I want you to focus deep inside..."

Jasmine starts walking Helena through familiar-feeling meditation exercises and Helena soon finds that she has hard time staying focused, but Jasmine drives on until Helena is sweating with effort to stay focused.

Helena nods, and does exactly as she's told, without reservation or any thoughts against it. No matter what she may have thought, or the EGG may have been like, she was just her, and would of course, have to start all over. Sweating with exertion as Jasmine pushed her harder, Helena did her best to stick with it, giving every ounce of concentration she had to the task.

Finally Jasmine relents. "You're doing good progress, but I think that's enough for today." Jasmine looks a little tired herself as she sits back, apparently deep in thought.

"Told you Jasmine, Just a regular girl" Helena said, panting with exertion, and surprisingly tired afterward. "On the brightside, you have a meal..." she offered tentatively, laughing at the teasing joke. At least there was one way to be useful. "Think there's anything we should do? gather supplies or information?" she offered, pondering out the logistics of the situation

"Regular? You've very nearly done two days of progress in a few hours!" Jasmine stands up. "That wouldn't hurt. Let's go talk with the innkeeper."

"Great~~ Captain Grouch" Helena said as she followed Jasmine downstairs, letting her talk, the last time she had tried had ended in fantastic failure. But she supposed she shouldn't be surprised, she looked strange, she had no cash, and had just wandered into town. She supposed she wouldn't trust her either.

As they head downstairs, the innkeeper greets them happily. He doesn't seem to know much about what's going on outside the village, but merely warns them about leaving the village, especially in darkness. There is another village two days west, but few people have ever been that far.

"Two days, that means night no matter what we do, at least up in the trees seemed save enough."

Helena was interested in getting a better look around the town, but it may not be wise given how the innkeeper had reacted BEFORE Jasmine had charmed him. Pondering everything as she walked, Helena moved to stand outside the inn, her back to the wall as she watched the people go about their business. "We need weapons at least, or rather, I do. and supplies..."

"Do you even know how to use any weapons?"

"I can give you some supplies miss, but you'll need to ask the smith or the bowyer if you want to arm yourself."

"Not really, but how hard is it to use a club? I've played baseball before" Helena said with a smile.

The blacksmith's shop is visible right from the front door of the inn, and as the only stone building it's easy to spot.

"It's not like I can fly or throw Fire anymore..." Helena said as she walked over to the blacksmith. She could run as well, but she couldn't outrun wolves... Or anything else probably lurking in this insane place...

Walking inside she looked around, for either the shopkeeper, or if he wasn't there, his wares...

The shelves are filled with everyday things like pots, kitchen knives and farming tools, though there's a pot that's filled with arrowheads. The heat of the forge and the loud hammering can be felt and heard through the wall and the smith himself can be seen through a door, hammering a piece with slow, measured blows. The smith is a huge man with shortcut black hair and heavy leather clothes, and an expression of concentration dominates his face.

Helena politely moved into the blacksmith's frame of view, offering a tentative wave. The thought of stealing had crossed her mind, but she thought better of it seeing the burly man. She wondered if an arrangement could be reached. If it couldn't then stealing was going to be the next step.

The smith acknowledges Helena with a nod, but doesn't stop hammering. After a couple dozen more blows before moving to quench the piece - a pitchfork head, apparently - in a barrel, releasing a cloud of steam as he drops it in the cold water. Only then he turns to face Helena.

"Good day miss. What do you need?"

"Hello! Me and my friend here need to make a trip to the nearby town, which we were told is two days away. I was personally hoping you had something even I could use to keep us a bit safer. Any information would also be most welcome" Helena was the picture of politeness, going out of her way to avoid offending the large man...
