Re: Are the stars right?(Helena/Courage Wolf)

Strike seems almost overwhelmed with joy, and hugs Helena as soon as she finishes eating before playfully turning to her back. Cindy pays similar attention to Flame, and the other spider seems to enjoy it just as much.

"We've let our good friends love us, but haven't really returned the kindness Cindy" Helena said softly, taking the time to scratch and rub every inch of Strikes body before laying on top of her and just cuddling. Reaching out with her mind, she tried to ask Strike what she wanted to do, wondering if she had any ideas herself and wishing they could communicate better.

It takes a while for Helena to convey the question, and even longer for Strike to answer. It would seem that she'd like to have a mate.

Helena giggles and kisses the Strike gently, nodding. "Well, My plans are filled for the day I think" She said chuckling. "I need to go get Strike layed."

Standing up, Helena gestured for Strike get up as well, wondering how to find Strike a mate, there had to be male spiders somewhere, but how to find them. Looking at Strike, she asked if she knew where to find one. If not, then they were going to go looking!

"Good luck," Aqua says, moving closer to rub Cindy's shoulders.

Strike doesn't appear to know very well, though she thinks high places would be better.

Re: Are the stars right?(Helena/Courage Wolf)

Helena thought of something, feeling out Strike's mind, its peculiarities and the small things that set it apart, and cast her mind out searching. Looking for other spiders. She didn't need over specifics, just... something close. And in the meantime, she would follow Strike's advice and head uphill, looking around for any ridges or outcroppings.

Concentrating on minds like Strike's turns out to be hard, and there doesn't seem to be anything similar nearby, except Flame. There seems to be something similar to the south, but it's still clearly different. Helena also spots a group of humans or human-like creatures, not very far to the north and getting closer.

Helena pouts a little as the presence of Spiders seems to be pretty scarce, accept maybe Helena was looking for familiars rather then spiders. It seemed something was close, but then she spotted people... or something very like people getting closer from the north. They were worth asking, but it was probably better not to start the fight as a nude demon... Or maybe it was... Walking out, bold as brass, Helena headed straight towards them, her wings outstretched and her tail lashing from side to side. Reaching out with her mind, Helena tried to make contact from a distance first.

As Helena tries to make contact with one of the men, he seems confused and wary to her, but she manages to establish contact.

*Why Hello there~* Helena says cheerfully, stopping right where she is and spreading her wings, trying to be polite and let them see her from afar. *The only thing I need, and want, is the location of any giant spiders. That's it. No tricks~ Mind helping a girl out with that?* She asked, still staying put, right where she was.

*S-spiders, milady? I don't know. Some come from Nova Vaasan side to here, occarionally.* He seems wary, and after a moment Helena can sense the men leaving the way they came.

Re: Are the stars right?(Helena/Courage Wolf)

*You're help is appreciated.* Helena said, patting Strike's head and winging into the air, looking around from a birds eye for a moment to look for mountains or ridges or caves. Even humongous trees. Anything that would help her get Strike what she wanted. This was important for Helena, to return some of the kindness her friend had shown her.

Helena can see several unusually large trees, and the hills are turning more hilly to the south. There are no obvious signs of giant spiders, however.

Helena heads for the trees first, mentioning them to Strike and showing her what they looked like, moving slowly so Strike could keep pace. Hopefully she'd get lucky here, considering how many spiders were birthed wit every clutch, and how many Strike and Flame had layed just with them, surely they couldn't be THAT rare...

The tall trees with silvery leaves have plenty of birds and some normal sized spiders, but no signs of giant ones. On the last tree Helena finally gets luckier, as there's remains of a web. The spider, however, is no longer there.

Re: Are the stars right?(Helena/Courage Wolf)

Helena gives the good news to Strike before pulling on the webbing a bit, just in case the spider was simply lurking nearby. If nothing happened, Helena would keep looking around the area, moving from tree to tree for either more webs, or the large creature itself. She wished there was an easier way.... On a stroke of inspiration, she asked Strike what the large spiders like to eat, why they put their webs up high, anything that would help, encouraging Strike to look around as well, hoping her friend would get lucky.

Re: Are the stars right?(Helena/Courage Wolf)

Strike answers with the mental equivalent of a shrug. It puts webs up high because there are too many humans at lower places in towns, and it eats birds because that's what it catches.

There's no sign of the spider near the tree, and the web looks quite old and torn, with remains of birds and small mammals as well as a snakeskin.

Re: Are the stars right?(Helena/Courage Wolf)

The other option left was the hills to the south, and the information from the bandits regarding them coming over from Nova Vaasa. It seemed the hills were the next stop. Helena was unwilling to give up the search just yet. Landing next to Strike, Helena started to walk towards the hills, remembering Flame had shown up in the plains of Nova Vaasa, maybe the hills would be more fruitful.

The trip to the hills goes uneventfully, though Helena spots a wolfpack some way off. On the hills there are more trees as well as some small caves. It doesn't take very long for Helena to spot the first signs of spidery presence - a few pieces of webbing here, a drained bird there.

Re: Are the stars right?(Helena/Courage Wolf)

Helena gets excited when she finds the first clues of an 8 legged infestation in the hills, pulling her wings and other extraneous demony bits away suddenly afraid her presence was scaring away any of the creatures, which made little sense, but still. Any chance at helping. Helena patted Strike and looked around a great deal more carefully, trying to follow the signs and leaving Strike alone if the large female told her that would be best.
