Willow doesn't seem too pleased with the idea, taking the journal and leafing through it, stopping to look at the sketches before closing it and handing it to Helena. "Let's go."

Re: Are the stars right?(Helena/Courage Wolf)

Helena tucks the journal away, looking at Willow's expression for a moment before nodding and turning. Well, Lets go find a tunnel without machines in it then, because these guys get cranky if you get in their way. Helena said, exiting the dome and looking around. There were so many machines, so many workshops and refineries. It was all insane.

*Well Jasmine? I'm for staying around here with the wagon and the horses until we're ready to leave with out order. But I suppose it's different for Cindy and Willow, as well as the Lamia. You up for digging around a little bit after we get them settled? Or should we probably spend this night trying to figure out where the hell we need to go to get a pearl blessed. Because all we have are regular ones... Helena sent to her sister as she started back up towards the surface, remembering the mummy nearby and deciding that it was indeed for the best to send most everyone back. There was nothing stopping them from making a return trip later.

Re: Are the stars right?(Helena/Courage Wolf)

The group takes their time, wandering upwards and stopping to admire the finely constructed workshops churning out crafts make from stone and metal of industrial quality. *I think Cindy at least would be happy enough to stay here if it means getting to explore for a bit. I could take the pearls to the temple and see what it takes to get them blessed; you don't seem to get along with priests too well.* As they journey further upwards, they find several empty-looking mine shafts.

Re: Are the stars right?(Helena/Courage Wolf)

No.... I don't. Granted, I don't get along with alot of the shit here, but the priests piss me off something fierce. Alright, so if me and Cindy hang out here, you and Willow could head back to town? That sounds like it could work. As for the pearl, yes, I'd appreciate you dealing with that one. We both know I'd only cause trouble that close to the temple.* Helena answered, peering down one of the deserted mine shafts, and making a mental note as she and Willow headed towards the surface.

Once they were topside again, Helena would lean over and kiss Willow on the cheek. Me and Cindy are probably gonna stay here and explore a bit. Jasmine is gonna head back to the temple in town, and you don't seem to keen to stay here. I don't blame you. Go ahead and head back with jasmine and the wagon, and I'll see you later alright? Helena said, smiling before turning around and heading back inside, swaying her hips for Willow's benefit. Cindy! Ready for some trouble making? I see empty mine shafts...~♫ Helena sent down to Cindy

Willow gives Helena a hug before climbing into the wagon and getting her broom. "We'll see you tomorrow, then."

Cindy grins and follows Helena back inside. "What's in the blocked tunnel, by the way?"

Re: Are the stars right?(Helena/Courage Wolf)

Helena waves at Willow before turning to Cindy. The blocked tunnel is occupied by an undead midget, and two very shiny chests. Two problems! We couldn't figure out how to move the stone, and last time that thing was a lot of fucking trouble. Still, I want those chests, but it's a problem for later. Helena answers, heading back into the mine, and heading for the empty shafts.

Between myself and Jasmine, that thing was not fun to deal with. With more help? I'm sure we could handle him, but the problem of the boulder remains! But now!? Now we see what the hell is in these caves~ Helena said happily, floating a small globe of light ahead of them for Cindy, since the girl couldn't see in the dark like she could.

Re: Are the stars right?(Helena/Courage Wolf)

Cindy and Helena head back down and into one seemingly abandoned tunnel. The tunnel is remarkable clean of rubble and it leans slightly downwards. The rock underneath the dunes seems to be hard granite with beautiful veins of quartz running through it. There are also bits of silvery metal visible in the walls, the constructs apparently having deemed them not worth the trouble after mining the main vein clean. The tunnel continues to the distance.

Helena whistles softly as they look around what had to be the cleanest tunnel she had ever seen, and she'd seen a fair few!, but what caught her attention were the tiny veins of metal, and the wide gouges of Quarts that sparkled softly around them in the glow of her small light. Constructs never struck me as the type to leave anything behind, but I suppose even they have standards. Helena whispered as they kept walking, the succubus sending the orb of light a little farther ahead of them.

"That probably means they have riches veins below," Cindy says in a quiet voice as she admires the beauty of the tunnel. The tunnel continues straight several hundred feet until stopping abruptly. There's a small tomb there with a coffin made from stone with silvery veins in it. On top of it there are carved runes: "Here lies Thorvin Battleshield, the expedition leader."

Re: Are the stars right?(Helena/Courage Wolf)

Helena, upon seeing what was actually at the end of the tunnel, groaned loudly. Damnit! There's Loot! Right there! Free Coin! Do I take it? Do I rob another grave? Well, yes... yes I do. However, I will need to get whatever I find in there out of here without the constructs seeing it, or they will surely deny us our work order in anger. Or... they will act like constructs, and not care about it as it doesn't involve their work, doesn't involve the surviving dwarves they're waiting for, and more importantly, they don't need to know! Helena said, starting off at a rather insane sounding quiet muttering, and ending with a cheerful smile.

Hopping over to the coffin, Helena immediately set about looking at it, not trusting the dwarves to be any less thorough about trapping everything to near insane levels of security. Gimme a hand with this, I don't know if it'll explode if we open it or not...

A quick examination of the coffin find a wire going inside it, with opening the coffin sure to trigger it, whatever "it" is.

Re: Are the stars right?(Helena/Courage Wolf)

Helena, noting the wire, backs away from the coffin and sighs, and does probably the smartest thing she's done since she got to the desert, she turned around. Normally? Normally I'd cut the wire, and open the coffin. Normally I'd be tempted to just pick the entire coffin up and wander off with it. But, judging from this place? This trap? Probably a hell of a lot nastier then the usual stuff, and I like my various limbs staying attached just where they are. Helena muttered, remembering the pain in the ass upstairs.

Thankfully, this isn't the only tunnel. Helena said, starting to make her way back to find another tunnel to look around in.

Cindy and Helena spend some time wandering the other tunnels until they happen upon another tomb, similar to the first one, made for the captain of the expedition and just as bare as the first one.

Re: Are the stars right?(Helena/Courage Wolf)

Helena and Cindy, enjoying their wandering, found another tomb, which left Helena staring at the coffin accusingly, her left eye twitching rather badly. Looking at Cindy, Helena turned around, Stomped out of the tunnel, and returned to the first coffin.

Staring at the first coffin they had found, Helena walked up to it, looked at the wire again, stepped far off to the side, dragging Cindy with her, and muttering the words to what had to be maybe the second simplest spell known to her.

Pointing at the wire, Helena gave it a few experimental tugs, yanking on it repeatedly. If that didn't yield any results, Helena would stop pulling on it, and simply flick a finger towards it, a small spatter of corrosive, green, fluid spattering across the wire, Helena half expecting a bomb to go off.

As Helena starts her experiments with the wire, Cindy hastily retreats back into the tunnel a good twenty feet, obviously at least as suspicious and Helena, and less willing to risk her skin. The wire finally snaps from the acid, and nothing seems to happen.

And... AntiClimactic. It's like the full moon incident, with less Squirrels. Helena muttered, walking up to the coffin, still standing to the side, and shoving the lid open. Well, Here we go!

As Helena shoves the lid open, something goes snap and the ceiling collapses. Helena manages to avoid the worst of it, but she's still covered in bruises and stuck all the way to her shoulders under numerous smaller rocks.

Re: Are the stars right?(Helena/Courage Wolf)

oshit. Helena manages to get out, before trying to dive out of the way of the collapsing ceiling. Buried up to her shoulders in dirt and small rocks, and feeling fresh bruises from the trap, Helena wriggles around in the debris, before realizing she's stuck. Fucking dead people and their fucking booby traps and FUCK! Helena curses, wriggling around in the dirt. Taking a deep breath, Helena starts pushing with her tendrils, the limbs extending from her back and pushing at the dirt like earthworms in a circle around her, trying to give herself some leverage. The feeling of the stone on the sensitive limbs was decidedly unpleasant, but it was this, or wait for Cindy to UnBury her.

Helena can hear Cindy starting to move stone as she struggles to free herself, but in vain. After some minutes Helena can see Cindy frantically digging to free her, and she feels the stone shifting before passing out.

When Helena comes to, she's freed from the stone and in the dark tunnel. Cindy is sitting next to her, apparently half-asleep, though the girl immediately notices that Helena is awake. "Are you okay?"

Re: Are the stars right?(Helena/Courage Wolf)

Helena, for all her wriggling and attempt at giving herself some leverage with her tendrils, eventually passes out, though she can hear Cindy digging towards her, Helena finding it harder and harder to breath being pressed on by the stone.

Waking up some time later, sore from head to toe, and not wanting to move, Helena turned her head towards Cindy and smiled. Yea, I'm alright. Thanks for digging me out there Cindy, Really. Helena said, sitting up carefully before seeing about her wounds, the healing spell coming clumsily to her hands and lips as her bruises faded away.

A little drained from the healing, tired from the near death crushing, and checking Cindy over, Helena made sure to heal her hands, knowing they would be torn up from the digging.

Kissing Cindy on the forehead when she was done, Helena turned her hands into long, clawed, paws, like that of a mole, and proceeded to fly at the rubble. Being nearly killed by the ceiling, and after you digging me out, I'm getting what's in there Helena mutters, starting to dig out the collapse towards the coffin.
