Re: Wolfenstahl

I meet the requirements and have played since you have been releasing demos for this. However i'm unable to play this one for 2 reasons. 1 it just says out of memory, which couldn't be my problem cuz i have between 5-6 GB avaiable and processor speed remains in its 30-40s.
2. Exception EListError in module Paperheads_v1.02_trial.exe at 00038EDE. list index out of bounds (1).

I'm not sure if this will help but by any chance this could have something to do with you having your CG's in a seperate file rather than the actual game?
I've tried running as admin and used a couple of service packs and still refuses to run.

Would be great if anyone knows how i could fix this problem if it's fixable in my end.

Re: Wolfenstahl

That's the error message I'm looking for.
I would be happy if both of you would help me out on this one.

(as I already mentioned, I tried it out on at least 15 different computers, my family and my friends computers, but I never encountered this error anywhere... not even once...)

I'll contact both of you via PN tomorrow, and ask a few questions about your computers, if that's okay for you guys?
(for example, how much RAM the game exactly uses up etc... but I'll spare the details for now)

That way I might be able to find the cause, and maybe I can fix it.
But now it's bedtime, see you tomorrow, and thanks for your report!

Re: Wolfenstahl

I don't seem to get the error.
My OS is Windows 7 with 6GB of DDR3 Memory, Intel Core I5-2450M 2.5GHz, and a NVIDIA GeForce GT 630M video card. I'm not sure if it's random luck or the game is just extremely picky, but I'm certain there are people with much better PCs who can't seem to play the game.

The game uses 1.3million K of memory which is complete bullshit considering it's size. I use less memory playing Civ5. It's also over double the amount of memory that Firefox uses and Firefox can be a memory whore.

That sounds more like a coding error than a CPU error to me. Then again I'm not a coder and know little to nothing about how to use Gamemaker.

Re: Wolfenstahl

Trial Version 0.9b worked for me.

With the new version however the "Out of memory" occurs. Followed by "Unexpected error occured when running the game".

Re: Wolfenstahl

I also get the Out of Memory error with the 1.02 trial.

Paperheads uses up around 1.33GB of RAM on my system before spitting out that error. The game itself never appears onscreen. I still have 4GB RAM left over, though.

Once, I got a List index out of bounds (1) error. Dunno what that meant.

I've got a Phenom II X4 at 3.8GHz, 8GB of RAM, and a GTX660. This thing runs Crysis and stuff.

Re: Wolfenstahl

Yeah same. Ran it. Looked at the Task manager and it clocked me at 2.9G usage. Granted i"m at 4G RAM and at 2K Xp Pro. 2.21 AMD Athlon 64 Processor. Nothing special on my error report. Just Ran out of memory.

Re: Wolfenstahl

Works for me, even though it does have a big memory footprint

Win7 64bit, AMD Phenom II x4 945, 4GB DDR3, ATi HD 5800

I only did a quick run through though.

When are you folks getting the error message?

Re: Wolfenstahl

The game uses up so much RAM, since it's made with a game making software as well as having too big sized graphics and all the CG's, which are eating up quite a lot of RAM.
While the game itselfs lacks external storage of data as well as loading all the stuff up right at the start of the Exe-file.
(I already wrote this a dozen times, please understand if I ignore the "RAM issue" in future posts, since I don't like to repeat mentioning this, over and over again)
(as well as this being the reason why several CG's had been removed from the game etc.)

ERROR in
action number 1
of Draw Event
for object obj_CG11_Chao2:

Error in expression:textbox
position 1: Unknown variable textbox
There is no error in the code, and as far as I know, this error should be solved by placing the game into a folder like:
C:\Paperheads

Don't place it into directories/folders with [spaces] in their names, or special symbols.

Does anyone with a ATI Radeon graphics card have any issues?
I mainly see Ge-Force people having problems with the game...
(but there seems to be certain Ge-Force cards that are able to run it)
Because this would explain, why the game runs on all the systems I tested it on... they are almost all ATI graphics cards on those computers and notebooks.
(and if that's the case, it will be a lot harder for me to figure this out...)

i have your requested specs (2.5ghz dualcore amd 4gb ram win7 64bit) with ati card.
didn't encounter any bug or problem. location of the folder doesn't seem to matter either. the game runs smoothly.

but maybe my laptop just loves me as much as i love it.
