Re: Who Rules the Ruins (Ubberific) GMed by ranger

"I will take you up on that offer Rikke but first we need to find out who did it. I'll send word when I have any leads." The pristess threw a knowing smile at Rikke like she had this part of the conversation already. With that the door shut leaving Rikke and Jess to stumble out the secrete entrance back at the shrine of Venus.

Well that was one way to get kicked out... she didn't even have the opportunity to ask about the inner conflicts she's been having. A high priestess likely had more insight into such matters... or maybe she would've just given her the "Believe in yourself speech" to her.

Still, Rikke managed to get the papers for Janets freedom fixed "Well... that was interesting..." the heroine smiled at her silent companion "Though that reminds me before we go to the page let's go talk with Gruff, the towns blacksmith. I think he should be able to do something with the venom we found in the ruins."

If Jessica wouldn't argue against it the two girls would make their way to the blacksmith with Rikke striking a conversation with her silent companion "Jess... is there something bothering you. You haven't said a thing throughout this whole ordeal..."

"Oh sorry I was just lost in thought. That demon looked familiar like I had seen him before." Jess shrugged "Except I've never met a demon like that in my life. Its just kinda odd."

The walk to the blacksmith was fast and unobstructed by anyone or anything but Rikke could see the hint of fear in peoples eyes they knew something was going down just not what or when. Standing outside the shop Rikke could hear the loud hammering of Gruff as he worked on what ever project he was currently at.

"You can come in too if wish Jess." Rikke smiled warmly to her companion and entered the smithy, the head and smell of heated iron instantly assaulting her. If the blacksmith was present Rikke would ask if she could somehow use the poison sacs she has from earlier to coat her blades... perhaps modify her revolver.

A gun (either a Pistol or a Rifle) or a Thrown Weapon (set) can be enhanced to force those hit by them to make a Resistance check against DC 28 or become Paralyzed by trading 2 Venom Sacks. Multiple instances of this enhancement do not cause additional checks, but instead increase the DC of the check by 8

Jess followed Rikke in still pondering where she had seen the demon from so was oblivious to what was going around her. At the table sat the little girl again smiling brightly a fresh gap in her teeth. "Hi Rikke! Welcome back to the Ready Blades for Ready Hands. How may I help you today?"

Rikke smiled warmly at the cute little girl "Well hello there, princess. Is big daddy Gruff around? I want to ask about some fancy blacksmith stuff..." the heroine placed the bag caontaining the poisonsacks on the table "No touchy dear, this is dangerous grown up items." Rikke winked playfully at her.

"I don't know Rikke hes very busy and you promised me something when you came back and saw me again." The little girl wriggled back and forth in her seat and looked inside the box wrinkling her nose. The little extortionist grinned waiting for Rikke's reply.

Wow this girl had quite the memory... "Oh~..." Rikke quickly checked her pockets barely anything but a few spare denarii and the cristal trap for slimes.. "I'm so sorry honey. I've been attacked and robbed out there, they took your gift aswell... I had such a beautifull" the rogue quickly took notice of the girls eye color "Blue shiny cristal for you." Rikke looked to the girl with a moppy face "But I still need to see daddy, maybe me and him can arrange something special for~" the heroine gently tapped the girls nose "You~" a warm giggle escaped her.

As Rikke searched for what ever she needed to bribe the girl a little tell tale bark escaped one of her bags. Hearing the bark Trisha's eyes lit up. "Is that your puppy can I play with him?" Wondering how the little guy managed to sneak into one of Rikke's bags was amazing and the fact the little guy slept threw the demon encounter was equally stunning the little guy must have taken sleeping lessons from Jess.

Searching through her backpack Rikke felt something warm and fuzzy inside... "What the---" *Bark!* a pup quickly peeked his head out of one of the backpack "Willow?!" *Bark bark!* Rikke was likely just as stuned as Jessica, who actually didn't even know what or who this lil fella was.

Was he sleeping or actually too scared to come out was up for debate, but this was definedly a surprise Rikke did not expect... still this did give her some leeway with the child "I'll let you pet him, only if you get daddy. You two can play while me and daddy talk about our business" the rogue smirked happily with the cute puppy looking at the little girl happily, helping Rikkes case forward.

"Um... Jess... remember when we saved those puppies from the ruins... and we had to name one? This is Willow... my puppy" the rogue smiled innocently at her companion a cold sweat drop running down her face, well this was akward.

Rikke could see the gears in the girls head turning as she mulled the deal over. "Okay but you still need to bring me something." With that the little girl slipped from her stool and grabbed willow how barked and licked her face. "Gruff! Gruff! look a puppy oh and Rikke wants to talk to you." Trisha's voice trailed off and soon two other shouts of joy followed. Not long after Gruff came out of his workshop sweat still heavy on his brow. "I hope you know what you did all I will hear from here on out is I want a puppy I want a puppy." The big man looked down at Rikke frowning. "What in the world is this slop?" Gruff pointed to the container holding the venom sacks.

"I... didn't say... you could--" the small girl already had poor Willow in her clutches and ran off to get Gruff "Take him... with you..." Rikke sighed... kids. Still atleast she got the blacksmiths audience.

"HI~ Remember me?" the girl grinned widely "And this slop is the venomous sacks from the Wasps in the ruins. I've heard powerful blacksmiths imbue the corrupt venom into weapons, so~ since I got some, you came to mind, Gruff." the rogue smiled warmly at the man. It was true, ever since her thief exploits she wanted to find a way to neutralise any guards without gravely wounding them... so it lead her to looking into poison and such weapon enhancements. Though whether Gruff had the specialty to do this was a whole different question entirely.

"Poison you say.. Not my usally work I would have to outsource some materials and call in some help. It might take awhile so what kind of weapon where you thinking of using it on?" Gruff looked on the venom sacks pondering what he would need.

"I'm not sure how poison works, but I'm not aiming to kill anyone temporal paralisis would be fantastic. I don't know I have a revolver and a blade, each could use that special coating. You're the master blacksmith you should know what can and cannot be done. I'd be ever so grateful! Soon I'll be a very rich girl, so don't worry about payment" Rikke smiled warmly at the man as she placed her trusty revolver and silver blade on the table, she still believed she'd get a major bounty after this whole mess blows over... Though with her plans of a shrine, saphire statue, new blades in mind, the rogue may have overestimated the reward she may not even get.

Gruff picked up the revolver and looked it over. "I never really did much with guns would have to ask my cousin up in Kings Coast for that. I could enhance your blade again but you might lose your venom sacks during experimentation." Pondering a moment Gruff looked up at the girl. "What will it be Rikke blade or gun your choice."

Re: Who Rules the Ruins (Ubberific) GMed by ranger

Taking out enemies from ranged without killing them, was definedly tempting not only would it reduce risk of getting caught mid-sneak it would also mean Rikke wouldn't have to cut anyone for her poison to take effect "If you can make it shoot non-lethal bullets I'd adore a weapon like that... also maybe a way to silence it for bonus credit" Rikke grinned happily at the man "Whatcha think could you do that for me?" honestly Rikke was using her cutiest and "can't say no to that" face she ever managed to do. Hopefully the blacksmith could make the mods she needed.

"Sorry lass you would need a gunsmith for that and from what I hear they are in short supply most of them having been snapped up by Bardian noble houses. I can however improve this." Gruff went over to a small rack holding countless knives all thin of blade and small made even smaller by being in Gruff's meaty fist. "These babies are sharp as any blade and silent best of all easily concealed." They where pretty looking blades similar to the ones Jess carried with her but these looked far more elegant and graceful. "Some of Trisha's best forge work yet. Not sure where she got it but the girl has great forging skill with the small blades."

Well Rikke had the dexterity to use such weapons... and she could aims these to non-lethal places to silently poison the enemy.. "Oh~ SHE made these. Wow, she's got talent." Rikke eyed the blades greedily "...but Uhm... how much would these cost? I'm a little short on Denarii at the moment." the rogue smiled uneasily at the blacksmith.

Re: Who Rules the Ruins (Ubberific) GMed by ranger

Gruff frowned till Jess tossed a small satchel of denari on the table smiling at Rikke "That should cover the weapon cost right?" Gruff simply nodded "Ill get right to work not sure how long it will take though. Oh Rikke remember you need to recover the blades after you use them or they will be gone." With that Rikke and Jess where free to do what they needed to do which should probably be rescuing Willow. "How come you havn't sold the rings and stuff from the ruins Rikke?" It was a fair question maybe Rikke had just forgotten them. Checking her pockets indeed the jewelry was present.

Re: Who Rules the Ruins (Ubberific) GMed by ranger

"What?" Rikke checked one of the sanchels she thought she kept her bullets in... YIKES! So much jewelry! "How--!" OFCOURSE back she did loot quite a number of jewels during her trip in the ruins "Gruff! Wait... perhaps you know where I could sell this... spare jewelry I found in the ruins?" Rikke smiled at the man. She didn't know a local fence... and these items were not stolen so she could get a decent price of them. Who know maybe even the blacksmith himself could use these for ornaments when making weapons for the royals in town.
