I bet you guys remember H Nyarly, the creator of Sex Realm which was abandoned. Well this time he has a new update on his blog. He is working on a new character model & has given a name for his new game. Although the progress is gonna be slow as usual due to RL isssues.

Re: Raped Justice

Wait what? Haha, this is the first I've heard of it being canceled!

I don't get it, why cancel a game unless you discovered some new technique or something that would force you to start over?

Re: Raped Justice

Most creative people have the attention span of gnats. Take me for example.

"I have a great idea for a game!

"AAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAND it's gone."

EDIT: Adding onto the discussion: I hope this doesn't happen to him yet again, though.

Re: Raped Justice

And thus continues the pattern of having a game titles which seem to just be two random words put together...

Re: Raped Justice

Working on an entire game by yourself is insane. I really wish people would get teams together more often. Obsessing over all the different things needed to put a full game together on your own is nuts and there's nobody backing you up and kind of forcing you to continue on. It's good to have people rely on your part to be finished and such.

Splitting up the workload = win. I think the problem is that a lot of people want to make games EXACTLY how they want and don't want to have to compromise with other people on game mechanics or art direction and such, but then they can't keep up their motivation alone.

But yeah, loling at these names as usual. I guess there's only so many rape game titles you can use. I mean you want people to know what your game is about just by the name and all.

Have you tried having more than one programmer on the team before? Just one person not communicating the proper methods and functions or not commenting, or even if it's just an artist and programmer, where the artist isn't listening to the directions of the programmer for file name structure...

Yeah, but the problem with sharing the load and relying on someone else to do work on stuff (especially on these sort of 'labor of love' games) is the fact that the other person(s), at any time, could just as easily drop the project due to real life issues (or whatever) as well, leaving the person with the original idea high and dry.

There's also a big problem in 'sharing the vision' when games are done with multible people. It can be very diffucult to get the result that the game starter wishes for with multible people doing it.

Team work in games needs a lot of communicating to get things done.

Re: Raped Justice

Course it does, it's a different ballgame, but I'd say a more stable one than relying on one person to keep up their motivation by themselves most the time anyways. I think both people need some skills in both things though so if anything ever happens, they know how to pick up the project, find new people, communicate with eachother, etc. Maybe it's just that I've seen a lot more "In-progress" free games like these be completed or continue on with frequent updates when it's a team working on it rather than just one person.

Two programmers seems silly :p I'm talking like Artist/Programer. Of course it depends on what type of game they make and what programs they're using to accomplish it for how difficult it is for multiple people to be working on it. I'm thinking of like an RPG maker game as an example because it's the only thing I've used in the "programming" department (Not really programming, but close enough, a different job anyways) as well as making my own custom sprites and such for it. That wouldn't be difficult at all for Artist/Programer.

I think the most important part is that you'd have another person relying on you and spuring you on, yes they could quit, but there's always more people willing to help out. If one person in a two person team quits, there's still one left doing work and with the possibility of salvaging the project. If one person in a one person team quits, game is dead.

I think you need a pretty good relationship with whoever you're working with. Should be decent online buddies anyways.

It's this. Given that this is all free time stuff, they just don't get done. The free team projects are inherently unreliable given the lack of continued motivation - any one person leaving can take the whole project down, and the risk of that is increased with each person that joins.

If it came down to the problems with communication alone, software development as a whole wouldn't exist. The thing is, in real development, there's all sorts of tools and techniques used to keep communication from breaking down, while free hentai game projects just don't have that kind of organization or structure.

Re: Raped Justice

It's a little corny and engrish for my tastes, but far be it for me to judge a game's quality by it's title.

Re: Raped Justice

The Project was canceled because the maker got a new job, but to Sex Realm fans the project is back-on so expect an update in a couple months.

I don't even know what to say, I wasn't really into either, but this is getting a little rediculous.

Re: Raped Justice

he or she will probably use probably a newer version of flash and will hopefully continue where he or she left off. Don't raise your hopes though and expect slower updates because of his or her job.
