Riley looked at tad wryly at the fairly pesimistic words "D-don't be silly, whatever is down there we'll take care of it." though Jennys gaze made all too clear "Alright..." she'd agree with evident reluctance.

"The same goes for you Jenny." Nico spoke up, keeping a kind smile and gentle eyes on Jenny "You may have your own free initiative, but you are still our youngest sister. I will not allow you to leave unless you promise me the exact same." she glanced to Riley "Even if every ally we can find may be invalueable, I refuse to lose you just as you came back."

"Wildcat, keep her safe." she paused "I expect both of you to come back before nightfall." she smiled ever so subtly at the duo, Riley returning the subtle smile with her own "You can't get rid of me so easily, crow."

Even if unnoticed, Sir was very much keen to join them aswell. Listening to the whole conversation under his box doing too good of a job to remain stealthy.

Jenny looked at Nico and smiled. "Trust me I want to come back too. Nights here can be so much fun when your awake for them." Jenny winked at Nico and smiled at Riley. "Come on Sir we are gonna need your help."

With that the trio were free to move onwards, upstairs some joyous laughter could be heard from one of the rooms, strangely enough really catching Sirs attention even making him almost walk backwards as he looked on curiously. Either way likely neither the Trickster or Jenny noted his strange behavior as they went out and down the street.

Jenny already knew the way to take, leading Riley down the backalley "Ew~ Well there go my shoes." the trickster sighed playfully as the either the slick mud or the puddles greeted her feet upon entry.

Whatever the case unless Jenny had any other plans, the hole was still there and thankfully there would be noone waiting for them in the house... atleast upon entry.

Jenny looked at the sad little house. It was once probably fairly pretty. Sighing the the succubus slipped under the door blade at the ready. Once every one was inside Jenny would eye the door. "Okay Ill head down first followed by Sir and then you Riley. Its a narrow stairwell so be careful." With that Jenny headed down first her blade clenched tightly. Secretly she hopped that the demons just held a powerful angel down here so it didn't interfer. Of course it was probably a fools hope. Undoubtly it was some crazy powerful demon they couldn't control.

"Feels like we're back in the academy." Riley snickered lightly and looked around the ruins briefly, before her eyes wandered to the basement entrance and stopped. Walking up behind Jenny the girl leaned over her shoulder and looked to the pitch blackness below "T-that's not normal at all..." her previously light mood would quickly dampen as the actual situation came into view.

"Sec." Riley extended her hand and snapped her fingers only for the whole house to boom in brigth white light, slowly dimming not to blind the duo and forming into a floating lantern. Even if the spell easily illuminated most of the house going down the black seemed all too keen to supress it's effects to great degree.

The trio would slowly walk down the stairs, Riley keeping her hand on Jennys shoulder and lightly leaned over her, Sir floating close behind already hidden under his box. Making him seem more like a floating wooden box than anything else.

Stepping down even from the stairs Jenny could see the first rune and pointed it out. The girls stepped forward for more of the basement come into view for one wodden door on infront and... the duos eyes widened as the lantern moved forward a tad more.

There was another door. Clear dark steel with dark red runes engraved all over it. At the doors base, sat a man most of his body covered in seeming severely used and aged bandages. He sat in a lotus state, his head completely covered with only a separation for his mouth "She brings friends." a sudden voice cut through the silence as the figure spoke up. Turning to seemingly face them.

Jenny looked on the aged being well this wasn't so bad. "So.. you wouldn't happen to be the old priest would you?" It was worth a shot as Jenny looked on hopping Riley was doing her part in figureing out the runes. For the most part things seemed at a stalemate this figure yet to be hostil and clearly here on Jenny's first venture in.

"I am but a guardian of his prison. You have come to set him free?" he kept his empty gaze on the two, the calm of his voice accentuated by the echo of the basement and darkness all around them.

Sir was quick to hide behind the girls out of clear fear, while Riley looked over the rest of the revealed runes "J-Jenny, these runes are containment, but not for a demonic being." she'd whisper to the heroine "Demon, no. That is true." clearly whatever was utter in this place seems to not escape whoever rested at the doors gaze or ears.

Jenny frowned slightly "I see.... I guess that depends guardian. Who or what is behind that door and...... why was it put there?" Could it be that the old priest before his courrption or replacement had sealed something away in there? "You see I have a bit of an issue and given you are no doubt someone of power you probably already know." Jenny looked and sat down with the man not corssing the rune in place. "My sister and a dear friend of mine are being held captive by the inquisitors and they have graciously given me three days to prove that they are not in leage with the demons who plague this area. So guardian can you or whatever is behind this door help in that regard?"

Riley would quickly grab Jennys shoulder as she wanted to near the creature shaking her head subtly hinting that it'd be a bad idea. In actuality, the two had already crossed the rune. Looking around a clear circle going across the whole basement was clear. The outer layer of large runes like Jenny had seen at first, though of varying forms and one inner layer the circle going near the sitting man and past him, the writing much more intense on that circle.

Either way, he'd not turn hostile "I am but a guardian of his prison. Ever vigilant, ever immortal. Do you seek to free him?" seemed Jennys tale would fall on deaf ears.

Clearly this thing was some sort of magical construct or soul bound to this place. Sighing Jennly looked to Riley. "Do the rune's indicate whats behind the door sense Mr. Creepy is only intrested in seeing if we want to free it or not?" Jenny kept a watchful eye on the thing who turned out to be not so helpful.

"Unfortunately no, but there's..." Riley looked around the runes carefully, before her examination was interupted by the sitting man raising his hand towards the girls and clenching his fist. The whole darkness seemed to stir to life as suddenly the whole basement boomed in a dark howl, the dark keen to enclose at the two! "Kyaa~!" Rilley quickly took hold of her top hat with one hand and extended her hand to her lantern the light radius leesening more and more before halting to a stalemate with the dark.

The sitting man would unclench his fist and speak "Her friend is strong. Unfortunate." he'd emptily look to the two "It seems my realm cannot reach you, thus I cannot kill you. Nor can you kill me. Compromise is needed."

"A challenge? Or do you forfeit and leave this prison?"

Jenny's eyes sharpened "A challenge you say?" What possible challenge could she use? "A game of riddles perhapse?"

The creature turned it's head at the offer curiously, Rileys craeted light bringing all of it's features dark features to light "No, nothing like that." it paused looking at her brief and continued in it's calm even voice "My loss and your prize are clear, but what is it you offer to lose and I to gain?"

Riley glanced to Jenny unsurely about messing with this strange being, though then diverted her gaze to the runes across the basement. This was no simple containment ritual, whatever or whoever was behind that door had to have been a threat to the sealer.

Jenny frowned "Is their any thing you want that I might have?" In truth all Jenny had was her life.

"Have? No. Give, yes." the figure turned it's head to the left looking down a corridor leading deeper into the dark. Only a single door light up by the duos light "This place holds a dark secret. Once you find it, you will know what I ask."

The nigh-mummified figure suddenly raised it's hand once more "However I must an interference, a hindrance upon you. For this I ask." he'd point to Riley "Her friend is blindfolded. Until this is done I shall tell you no more." his voice as calm and even as ever he continued his blind blank gaze forward, seemingly looking at something distant.

Riley turned to Jenny clearly worried "I'm not so sure about this..." the trickster looked around the darkness, gently rubbing her shoulders hinting at more than a little fright.

Jenny frowned at this demand still she had to know. "Riley if you think we should leave then lets go. But before you rush to a decision I think it might be worth the risk. Sir can be your eyes if you let him. I leave the choice in your hands." Jenny looked at Riley with a caring look after all she wasn't alone in this and others where at the same risk as herself.

Riley paused looking to Jenny, then after a short glance to the runes bravely approached the guardian "Why?" the nigh-mummified figure turned it's head to blankly "For this to be a challenge for her." he paused briefly "I will honor our agreement, you will have nothing to fear from me."

The trickster narrowed her eyes looking to the...thing "I'm not putting on your cloth on my eyes..." each move the guardian made seemed echo with tiny cracks, the muscles barely refusing to move under his command. Whatever he was, it was clear he's been here for some time, just sitting in guard "Over there, near the door you broke. There's some cloth, use it."

The two girls glanced to each other and Riley first were moving towards the moonlight illuminated area, their energy lanern following the two right above. Indeed there was a red shirt here, dusty, musty and only by chance not eaten by moths.

Riley picked up the clothing and glanced to Jenny, leaning in to whisper to her "I'll remove the blindfold if thing--" "Then you would forfeit the challenge." his voice echoed from the now darkness.

Their steps echoed across the dark basement as they approached him once more, the light slowly crawling across the floor to reveal the figure sitting in a lotus position just as before, it's empty gaze locked to them "I will not do anything to impede you." whether his calm and even tone echoed trustworthy, was up to Jenny.

But with a deep sight and glance to Jenny, Riley would apply the shirt as a headband of sorts half-blinding her "Good. That will do."

"The challenge stands as before, uncovering a dark secret lingering in this place and use it. A word of warning, the shadows may take any form they wish. Not all you see will be real." he slowly raised his hand towards the hallway "Now go."

Walking towards the hallway would reveal it to be of surprising length, though seemingly looping. At first there would be 3 doors, two on the left 1 on the right. Walking deeper, would reveal 2 identical doors 1 on the left and one on the right.

Walking deeper would reveal no ending to the loop

"Remind me Riley when we get out of this and the whole doom of the world thing blows over. Just remind me that Im not cut out to be an adventure." Jenny sighed and looked at the doors. "Well... heres to hope...." Moving Jenny opened the secound door on the left....

As the two moved deeper glancing back would only reveal part of the hallway, beyond that the darkness blocked out any sight. A cold chill ran down Jennys body as she looked around, the way forward and back seemed to be identical now, all sharing an equal number of the same doors on both sides.

The door slowly creaked open to reveal... a surprisingly homely room. It seemed more akin to a recently furnished room. There was some sort of painting on the far wall above a small writing desk, against the left wall a book-case utterly filled shared some of the dim lighting and to the right wall there was a small couch. Jennys eyes tried to focus on it briefly, as a clear flicker of an image ran across her vission. The couch coated in some slick black matter. In the center of the room there was a elabarote rug, truly bringing the whole picture together.

"W-what is it?" Riley asked from behind the heroine, her hands holding onto the heroines hands and gripping it tightly.

Jenny felt the chill of fear chase up her spin but for now she held firm. Looking about the room in great detail Jenny shared its discription leaving nothing out not even the hinted shadows on the couch. "Im going to look at the painting a little more Riley hold on to Sir he gets scared...." Of course her little friend had every right to be. Hells even Jenny wa scared.
