This is DLC, as mentioned above. You NEED the original game to add this onto.

Yeah, you just need to overwrite the DLC files in the main game folder.

I'm using the update files with the mega download on the first pages post but I get an error message when I go to start the game with a new character.

EDIT: the folder named "上書きデータ" in the update, do I move those files into the original games "ff" folder?

Yup i did that and the new characters appeared.

edit: nevermind, gave me an error when i started a new game, probably replaced something that wasn't meant to be replaced

I can view them fine in the gallery but I just can't play them. Still trying to figure this out...

EDIT: Don't think it's an issue with needing to unlock them. I played through a bit without trying to merge that one folder and none of the new enemies were there... my only guess is that I have an English or outdated copy of the original game so the new DLC won't work with it. With that being said, does anyone have a copy that will work with the DLC?

I think some file names have to be change with idk witch ones to change ^^;;
