Eh, week old; i guess i can still post.
So something that people use to do back in the olden days of PC gaming is release full on games and call them demos. Basically the idea is that you create the engine and tools for the demo, and release that and for the full on game you'd make new content for but have 4 times as much.

Think of a demo kinda like a experiment to show what your game is able to do, and then your game shows what your engine and tools can do when perfected.

"castle of the winds" is the example i'm using. The first game which was share ware back in the day, had hours of game play in it. The second game looks nearly the same but must have 4 as much content.
