I've always been wondering: Why is he using an old CRT monitor?

Re: RJ113419 - Dungeons and Prisoners

I just have a quick question. I'm sure the answer is buried somewhere in previous pages, but I went back a few and didn't see, so, for the patches, do I only need to place the most recent patch in there, or all of them? I'm noticing a lot of untranslated text in places. This seems like a silly question now that I type it out, but I want to be sure.

Some people myself included find CRT's easier on the eyes--especially those who have migraines triggered by light, it wasn't until a couple of years ago that I found a good LED that was affordable that didn't cause serious eye strain. Especially when at the "end of era" CRT's could hit 120-180Hz even on the low end models.

He's a graphic. CRT's are very good for working digital stuff, even the old ones are better than most middle-ranged screens right now. You can google the details, if you're interested.

You can introduce the same combat system of the game?
I do not mean to use the same version of RPG

All the patches for that specific version, i.e 3.05 has 7 patches and you need all of them.

Re: RJ113419 - Dungeons and Prisoners

Thank you, Sarave.

I certainly hope this game has a chance to be released. There is only so much that can be accomplished in the trial, and it speaks so much for what the full game could have. I want to see what the other enemies have for animations, but getting there takes so much farming, and Lynn is so OP that I don't have a chance to watch animations with her around.

I do appreciate that I can opt for an anal only run and the additional statistics that show diameter and milliliters are just delightful. It's really something I can get behind (hyuk hyuk). I wish more games showed statistics like that a la Hounds of the Blade and, well, this.

Actually he has a Cintiq.

Funny you say that, because I personally have the reverse issue. The polling effect on CRTs drives me insane. Makes my eyes go O.O if I don't use a CRT for a while.

You sure that your CRT wasn't just breaking down? Old CRTs have sync issues that causes some very obvious refreshing.

Someone I knew once insisted that Good CRTs have the best colour contrast. Since he's crazy rich and built his own water cooled gaming desktop (this was back in 2006 and water cooling wasn't as common), I had to assume he was right.

And he was, because at that time especially CRT's were far better in terms of color, contrast, response time etc. The issue with CRT's is mainly weight, space and eye strain (and if you want to go green - power consumption). Nowadays, the gap is much smaller - still, an average user doesn't upgrade his screen as often as the PC. And if one is working with digital stuff has a good CRT from before (and it works well) there's no reason to buy a very costly EIZO (or some other high end stuff) that might be working as well as your "old" CRT but costs a few thousand bucks.
As a side note, there are widescreen CRT's, but much more rare than the usual 4:3 of the era they were prevalent.

Actually he has a Cintiq.
Which doesn't make the point moot? Also, if we're talking about details, ILL's CRT unfortunately died and he's looking for a new screen, while getting by on said tablet (I think, not sure whether it's actually Cintiq) and a mediocre LCD.

So as a side note, if anyone is having some money around and feeling in a particular festive mood (Christmas after all) now would be the time to help out our talented friend (since a good(...ish) graphic monitor would cost 500-1000 USD if you're not looking for a brand name high end).

That's caused by either a failing monitor, or the refresh rate set too low. The higher the refresh on a CRT the easier it is on your eyes.

Re: RJ113419 - Dungeons and Prisoners

Everyone taking about CRT now? good.
1. My fucking blurry eye issue was fixed I tho, but sometimes blur coming back. even with LCD monitor. I think it's allergic reaction (+ doc says dry eye)
2. I used to be an graphic operator, I used same CRT monitor in studio and home.
3. I have Cintiq but 15 inch 2001 year model. also it's really bad with color accuracy. and it is removed from my equipment slot.
4. I got new LCD. so I hate EIZO personally (and NEC), so I bought ASUS high-end model with the installment plan. it's perfect to me.
5. nearly waste 2 month, but now I can continue work.

Wasn't quite sure what you meant by digital stuff. I assumed drawing, and drawing is done directly on the Cintiq without needing to look up at the monitor.

Don't think I've ever had any issues with color accuracy, but it's also one of the later models. Only issue I have with my Cintiq is AMD cards not properly converting the digital signal from the DVI-I connector.. Main reason why I ended up switching to Nvidia.

I don't remember exactly how much I donated for this game but It was a ridiculously high amount. It's good to see that it's back in development, This will probably be the new standard for rpgmaker Hgames if it's ever finished.

Cintiq (every Wacom LCD) have problem with color accuracy, Red channel a bit vivid. it looks good color but sometimes looks really bad in other monitor especially like CRT.
