Potions and lots of other consumables restore 2% vitality when consumed, the 3 different types of berries restore anything from 25-100% vitality. Small piece of bread restores 50% vitality while large piece of bread is 100% vitality restoration.

I would have thought the english version had the item encyclopedia, all item properties are there for reference. That readme file that comes with the game should have plenty of information on the various data sets in the game.

That's raw damage only. (Mostly for skill damage calculation) Normal swipe by burial is still stronger due to chance for double attack (a decent 32%) and 0.7 def calculation.
Then again, granite has 3 slots, so you can do some stupid things with it. (Like having blunt/slash/earth/holy/plasma/50% fire as the damage attribute. As opposed to slash/holy/plasma/50% ice of the burial)

In terms of food. They drop frequently enough that you normally wouldn't worry too much about it. (But I always carry around +200% vitality in total, you should always have a big bread/sweet fruit/or cake on you just in case)
Bread: Small +50%, Big +100%
Fruit: Bitter +25%, Sour +50%, Sweet +100%
Sweets*: Candy +2%[7], Cookie +25%[3], Cake +100%
Potions: +2%
* Happiness cuts vitality loss by 1/2. (joke: animal essence + cake -> PC was happily raped)

Great,now that i get hang of it,i get yet another error ..
I found the cat vendor,but whenever i click sell or collect,i get error and my game crashes.
Sell = floatdomainerror and lot of text
collect = zerodivissionerror and lot of text
Is there a way to fix it ? : /
This game really makes me want to cry : D
edit: I dont even know what version of game i have,since i couldnt find it anywhere in game folder / menu .. damn ..
edit2: Latest version is 23.12.2013 ? :O

You really need the latest version to play this game properly. The ones floating around the net are there just to make you cry. Mostly because they are from the release date as opposed the multiple patched version later on.

This game has a lot of bugs/patches, and old version just doesn't work out. (Japanese version works much better in terms of bugs, if I recall it right, you need a Nov> version to actually clear the game in english)

Red Death 1 on armor, no one got one on weapon yet:
朽ちゆく廃軌道４７で、赤の「ボーンエッセンス(死１)」付きの装備を発見
革のボンテージに「ガッシュエッセンス(対不死１)」と共に付いている為、正しい効果はハッキリしないが、生命系耐性＆抵抗１０％上昇・HPR２５％減少が「ボーン」の効果だと思う
革のボンテージに付いているせいでアンダーとショーツ二つ分の補正が掛かっており、エッセンス単体の本来の能力は不明

「ボーン」単体を落とす敵もいないと思うし、この効果だと「壮健」系の劣化版だなぁ
武器だったら即死効果でも付くのか？

I saw that entry a few days ago, frankly it really comes down to how dedicated you are with the game at Makai mode for the rare drops to make an appearance.

I haven't touched the game in weeks, but once I get going again I'll need to clear normal first before proceeding on.

Is there a prerequisite for boss @ city high road (閉ざされた大路) to spawn?
Did a couple of runs 8floor+ combed whole map no luck.

Seen and killed wild hunt boss twice no problem.

You'll need a memory key from either map Hollow tree or Crypt inner sanctum i think.

閉ざされた大路 has belle as the boss. It does not require you to unlock the memory. (That's underground chapel's minotaur)

Belle will appear after floor 7, usually when you are one door away from exiting the area. Keep that in mind when searching for bosses.
This applies to all boss except the headless count. Which only start from floor 12. (Note: Headless count hits like a trunk, so carry an elixir)

kind souls of ulmf, this is the first time in my whole life that i had not understand the mechanics of a game.
will anyone hold my hand and tell me how am i supposed to play this game? i like what i have seen so far
i cant even clear the tutorial. treat me like an idiot if you want

I wish this game worked better or I would get a properly bought copy. any version I find still has that 4HP error message when it first starts up. I thought this was supposed to be fixed. Makes me hesitant to spend money when I can't guarantee I'll even be able to play it.

what tutorial you're struck. I have played this game and clered it for long time ago.Now i just come back to smart the hunt again.

Some tutorials aren't necessity for the actual gameplay.
Basically you need to know japanese well to understand game mechanic pretty fast or you'll need a lot of time to read this whole thread and get advance playthrough technic.You can ask around there are a lot hardcore veteran players of this game and i can help you some while i start playing another round.

I need to go home.If You have any question i'm willing to help. I'll answer in 1 hour when i arrive my home.

Basically start on easy to learn some technic for a while and then start on normal.There's no any benefit for stay so long in easy mode.Playing in easy will make you survive wrong tactic last longer and learn it from mistake you'll die so many time:).After that just go through normal mode ,no need to finish on easy mode.

The point of this game is to hunt down 5 bosses not a hard task if you collect some experience through the game.

Got an odd problem, followed these instructions, hooked fine at first. Now after a few reloads it's stopped. There's no grouping of FDE9s though there are some strings with that in them, none of them are the one I need. Any help?

And does anyone maybe know a way to use ITH for this instead?

the biggest problem that i cant decipher is the battle flow, i get that every action is a turn, but when i get knocked down, the enemy spams a shitload of attacks and i dont know what to do, also i cant use skills... or items... or change equipment, idk anyhting

Sometimes you get more than one attack a turn (or the monster does) and sometimes you get stunned/paralyzed, at which point the game sorta speeds up until their turn is done.

Dunno about the items unless it's cursed.

This game has its own english interface and ITH doesn't work on it. Or rather, the game doesn't have enough story/dialogues to warrant a text hooker. For general game play, the English ui is enough.

It is always one attack per turn for you or the enemy unless you lose your turn due to status effect.
For your PC, you always have only one step (movement) per turn. The enemies on the other hand may move two steps, 1 step + attack, 1 step or attack, 1 step every other turn depending on agility. Noticeable against bears, where they move every other turn but can attack every single turn.

If you mean knocked down, it means you lose your initiative and enemies attack you first. You are more susceptible to passing out after being knocked down. If instead, you mean knocked out (0 hp), you are more or less defenseless. It takes for PC to regain conscious and get back on her feet.

Probably not enough story no. I beg to differ on needing a text hooker though, because it generally helps to be able to read where the doors lead to. ;)

And the descriptions of some items and such.
