RPG RPG Maker [ スケイルガーデン ] 砦のローデス (RJ125552)

Re: [ScaleGarden] Rhode's Fortress

Oh I see. I do remember that being pretty far in. If I remember correctly, that is pretty soon before you enter the free mode of the game, which took me a while to get to. Let me know if you need someone to proofread the game for you. I'm currently proofreading Ramza's translation of Vitamin Quest (which I need to finish soon).

Re: [ScaleGarden] Rhode's Fortress

Anyway, getting back to Rhode's Fortress, I might do a 'soft' translation once the full game is released, that is translating the items, skills, equipment, enemies, and all that sort of stuff to make playing it easier for everyone. Translating the actual content though is another matter -- SCGarden game's tend to be extremely large and long.

How do you get RPGM XP to not blow up the character encoding when you do a TL edit?

For whatever reason when I edit this game it wipes out everything in Unicode. I never get this problem in VX or VX Ace.

Re: [ScaleGarden] Rhode's Fortress

It's because when you save the project, it re-writes the INI file to use the english DLL instead of the JP dll. When I open the project, I set the INI to read only to fix this

That fixed it, thanks :D

Re: [ScaleGarden] Rhode's Fortress

Do you guys know if there were any previous attempts to translate the story dialogue of his earlier games?

I forgot what it was called, but the game with the red-headed protagonist got a partial translation in the form of a .txt file. Someone in the thread for the game in question took it as an off-project hobby of sorts to translate the first few bits of the game and then upload that .txt file. To my knowledge, no actual files were replaced, so we never had a 'partially translated' version of the game released.

In my honest opinion, although it's a bit inconvenient compared with actual in-game text being translated, having someone type out the dialogue in a text file and uploading that for us to have open alongside the game is perfectly cool with me. If that makes it easier for people working to translate these games, go for it. It's better than nothing.

Since we're talking about sc old games... does someone has somekind of walkthrough for the first one, seiren harp? I never could end this, since i got to play it too late and no one was talking about that anymore... /`-´\!!

Re: [ScaleGarden] Rhode's Fortress

I translated everything except story for all his games but never released it on this forum I think.

By everything I mean (UI, Items, Skills etc..).

If I knew Japanese I would probably translate the games also but since I'm mostly relying on machine translation I avoid translating anything longer then 15 characters. :)

I actually was planning to insert that but I wasn't sure of the translation quality so I took all the Japanese text from the game and sorted it all in rows to match his translation then i sent both files to a Japanese guy to recheck the translation. Idea was that he does a quick recheck to see if he made any major translation errors but unfortunately after few months the guy said he never found time for it so he never checked the translation. That was about the time I said I'll leave it with just "Everything except story translation".

Ther thread on Hongfire has a lot of hints on how to get certain scenes, but it doesn't have a coherent walkthrough:

Ha, that was actually me. I go by Shmotz over on HongFire -- or used to; once they stopped allowing people to post DLs to games, my interest quickly faded, which is when I started posting here.

Anywho, at the time I don't think a file extractor for RPG Maker games existed (or if it did, I didn't know about it), hence just making it a .txt file. Like I've said earlier in this thread, scenes in SCGarden games are fucking lo~ong, the goblin handjob scene is the one that took me an hour to translate.

Re: [ScaleGarden] Rhode's Fortress

For such great games it always amazed me that there was no full translations for any of them.
I have Breath of Fire and Iron partially translated using the txt file, first half hour or so, then the rest is machine translated.
None of the picture are translated though

Re: [ScaleGarden] Rhode's Fortress

Well, if there were enough of us that wanted it translated but didn't want to translate the WHOLE thing we could divvy up the maps (and events and scripts), translate our share, then assemble all the files into one collection.

Seems like we'd need at least four people though to get it out in any sort of timely manner (like somebody said, Scale Garden scenes are loooooooong).

I'm into it.
Started translating Sangeki some years ago (for personal use, so it was kinda messed), modified some kind of events so the you could expend more time 'ill she can all naked, but haven't got it complete... i was wondering if we could really do something like that, i mean, it's a game with a huge number of fans, so i guess we can work on it /`-´\
Would be nice to find out a easier way, since i'm still editing box per box inside rpg maker xp editor...

Re: [ScaleGarden] Rhode's Fortress

Guess I'm not the only one that was translating the game?

Thanks a bunch! \o/
I used that when i was playing, but still haven't figured out how to pass the village filled with men... they disappeared after a lot of events, and then lost i the track of game .-.

Re: [ScaleGarden] Rhode's Fortress

All I can say is good luck to anyone willing to translate SoG, it's fucking huge.

Re: [ScaleGarden] Rhode's Fortress

If anyone is actually interested in translating SCGarden's second game, Breath of Fire and Iron, feel free to use that .txt file I posted up on Hongfire ages ago. If a serious translation project ever gets going, I'd probably be willing to help, it has a lot of scenes I like, particularly the optional hot springs ones.

How does the txt works with rpg maker xp?
I guess the second one won't be translated for now... even sangeki, probably will be postponed when rhode is released...

Re: [ScaleGarden] Rhode's Fortress

It doesn't work with RPG Maker. It was meant to be read along side it. To quote my earlier post:

Re: [ScaleGarden] Rhode's Fortress

Its good that scgarden cr8 a game and battle system is good too...
But, I think for me, the girl from his second game is much prettier than this one.

what anime was this gif from?

Kill la Kill, aka the newest in Gainax trend of superconstruct of something (in this case, either shounen battle manga or magical girl genre...pick one)

If you liked Panty Stocking & Garterbelt, Gurren Lagann, then you can somewhat expect the same level of dafuqisthislololol in this one
