Today guest for AW daily is black healer Iris.

5 failed atttemp to get 3 star, those mage wreck havock on my unit and the black healer after the first wave is more or less a dead weight.

I decided to try the new story missions and the big mummies are ruining my chances at getting 3-stars. Do I have to count the number of autoattacks they do so they don't one shot my units? I made Berenice retreat and placed Sherry a bit later, but then she got killed in one hit. I really have to be patient around those big mummies because their random burst damage is terrifying :eek:

Just did another try and the thin mummy wrecked my Sherry D: this is confusing me

The Mummy is Avenger class. That mean the lower their health, the higher their attack become.

So at 25% health or less, the fat mummy have around 1500 attack which can two shot almost anything.

So that's why their damage is crazy. I'll just have to let my melee units retreat when it's dangerous and let my ranged units finish them. Thanks for letting me know.

edit: Thanks to the both of you, I finally got 3-star on that map. Separating the big mummies and slowing them down a bit definitely helped. I really had to retreat some units early because I don't want to cut it close and risk a death.

The mummy-type enemies share the same characteristic as dark elf avengers: the lower their health, the more damage they do per attack. A common tactic for low level players is to have a crappy (iron-bronze) heavy armour tank the mummy while its health is still high, and then have the rest of your units murder all of its buddies before changing your focus towards damaging the mummy. Useful units against mummies are pirates with barrage shot, vampire hunters, ninjas, pegasus riders, sailors, puppeteers, and avengers ironically (you need to calculate your HP/DF versus their AT, so you can barely survive a hit at below 10% HP, which is enough for someone like Roana to practically kill them on her own).

Avengers/Mummies deal 2x damage below 50% HP, 3x damage below 30%, and 4x damage below 10% HP.

Really, so it can go that high? Might have to revisit Roana. Too bad she's an early bloomer and her stats don't improve much from 45 to 70. Still, if you can keep her at at least 3x damage, at least she can match/beat Carry's AW damage with skill which is great.

Carry recently became my hardest hitter, 3/5 skill and 661 attack ends up at over 1200 in battle, pretty nuts. I'll probably get her to 4/5 soon. Roana and AW Carry have similar defense but Carry gets a nod for her HP, base attack, class ability and general reliability that Roana doesn't have. Avenger class doesn't have a recorded attack speed for comparison but if I remember right, they're not as fast as Valks, not sure how Power Attack compares to Avenger speed. Most importantly, Roana's ass is a match for Carry's. Close battle. Of course if you can reliably get Roana to 4x damage she's absurd.


Awwwww shieeettt. I just fed Carry a silver dragon and got her to 4/5 right after this. Dat luck. Carry has to be one of the girls I'm most proud of. For 16 cost, she's pretty damn solid.

1331 attack now during skill and 666 base attack, lol.

joking aside. Today daily map might be the hardest one i tried. Either my bottom lane got overrun because of those mage or my intercepter got show down by Minerva. :(

All while Iris sit there and do nothing :(

A common joke is that Carrie awakens to become a bandit (something that used to be said about Dahlia, since she's always been compared to Conrad and Lyra in comparison charts). Avengers are generally not treated as strong units, but they have their moments. For example, you can gank a black oni with Roana, and have her deal a tremendous amount of damage before retreating her, which was useful for that Oni Rush map during the second phase of the Sorano event.

Whoo glad I was right about magic crystal dailies. Should have time to finally cost reduce Spica and at least start on the fairy for Betty AW thanks to all these delicious crystals. Aegis is so nice to us with events.

Yeah I thought of Carry as a Bandit with defense/magic resist because of her attack speed. Still, how she can absolutely destroy most enemies in 1-2 shots, her attack speed doesn't slow her down too much. I think Power Attack is one of the best AW abilities (For most units). Beats those chance per hit abilities that just make your runs unreliable for sure. I'd much rather have a passive ability that's always working than those.

The final threshold comes as a real surprise to me. I never knew it existed and I am pretty sure I never got an unexpected 1-shot from fat mummy during Hores event. Maybe I was just lucky and got 11->0% between mummy swings every single time...

A gold rush is a special event where they add a new emergency mission map every day with a completion reward that is a gold unit. Kind of like how you can get a silver unit as a completion reward from the story missions. There's also an extra reward. The first gold rush gave out additional sacred crystals for every map you got 3-stars, the second gold rush gave Spica if you got all 7 completion gold units, and the third gold rush gave Jeanne if you got 3-stars on all 7 maps.

For example, Thursday (1 map available), Friday (2 maps available), and the last day of the event (7 maps available). Gold units are generally worth 5 sacred crystals, so it's a good idea to save your sacred crystals for these kinds of events, since it's almost like doing a premium summoning for a specific unit you want.

EDIT:
Now that my head is a little clearer. I guess it kind of sucks that the "Dragon Princess Revival" event is going to conflict with the gold rush. Though, I kind of don't care about the time fairy enough to spend crystals on it (I'm banking on the idea that they'll bring it back in the distant future; if not, I won't feel too bad).

And yes, Gold Rush is quite newbie friendly IMO. It a great chance to stock up a lot of nice reward.

Hope this time there will be a gold healer, i failed two times getting gold healer iris, and like they said, third time is the charm.

They've been making the Gold Rushes steadily more difficult. Like Gold Rush 3 had a map with an aura big mummy that would be difficult to defeat for a low level player, but they made it so it didn't drop anything, so you could get the completion reward and 2-stars. And the last map had traitorous Carries that forced some new players to cheese their way through by using the silver ninja Kagerou to instantly kill some of them.

This is the first gold rush since they made Aegis available to all-age players, so I think it might be less difficult than the previous one like how all of the events since Treacherous Pirates were lower in difficulty compared to the previous events.

Previous gold rush wasn't too hard. Just work on your first good CCed units and you should be fine.

The downside is that the drop rates are very poor for at least one of the drops needed for completion, like 7-10%. You can end up spending 2-3 days worth of stamina on one mission. I don't remember the first gold rushes being like that but they are now, so like Petite said, better have like 10 goddess crystals ready just in case. Last event I missed out on some of the male golds, I'd like to not let that happen again this time.

It does suck that they brought it up with the dragonewt invasion going on, I was planning on finishing it this weekend. That and finally getting Spica copy, unf. Let's hope our completion rewards can be finished without too much hassle so the dragon invasion can still be farmed a bit this weekend. Can't beat free golds though, without premium gacha they're nearly impossible for a free player to obtain (Without massive gold sink) and with AW now, they're immensely valuable.

Last gold rush event was:

Ninja Hien, Pirate Monica, Male Gold HA, Iris, Gold Mage, Betty, Carry

So you can probably cross them off the list of appearing in this gold rush event. Since there are so few golds and they haven't reused any from the previous event yet, you can pretty much guess which golds will show up in the event which is pretty cool. Who knows, maybe they'll surprise us. I don't want to say who I want for fear of imaginary jynxing lol, but there's a few girls who I think will show up that I could really use cost reduction for. New units would be nice and all, but I probably wouldn't use them.
