Re: [DMM] Tentacles Tactics

Alright, did my second batch of test. Two runs on main, 20 mins on each. Only did one run on alt since I'm out of time.

Main

Alt
I'm not sure what to make of this really, lul. What I said earlier is already thrown out of the window.

Anyhow, an interesting topic nonetheless. I'll just say drops are random for less hassle and each stage/area has a set of things they drop. :)

Re: [DMM] Tentacles Tactics

On the training page, what is the second item? The first is the number of whips you have but I seem to have 1 of whatever the second item is.

Can anyone tell me what it is/does? Does it relate to the purple button on training?

Interesting info on the item drops. All I can say is I never ever see item drops after the first few minutes and I've never gotten over 6 items. Farming for Jean now and at first I had 4-5 items often; now I usually get 2-3. (I've been at this a while so I leveled a lot) Might just be random luck though that I'm getting fewer items.

Oh, and who the the crazy racoon ish upper cutting girl who someone here has?

Its a Steel Whip. They're pretty rare. Can only be obtained through Gacha and the log on. Of course, you can buy them from shop using real cash too. They're more or less the improved version of Leather Whips. Has a 40 seconds timer as opposed to the 20 seconds on Leather. It also lets you hit max on the gauge when doing the obedience training. I suggest using it around level 7 or 8 obedience level.

Edit: I might have worded it in a confusing way. Basically, the 40 seconds and the amount it fills per hit/combo is enough to let you hit max on the gauge within the allotted time provided you hit them on time like the usual mini game.

And she's not a Racoon. Her name is Comet and she's a deer. She's from the Christmas event they held a while back. :)

Edit again: :D

Back when I played the game around November, I almost always hit the 10 item cap on x-5 and x-6 stages. But after all the patches they did, they probably changed some of it without noting the players about it. Like how they ninja nerfed Elfella and Nishiki. I only ran 15-6 most of the time after I got what I want off the other stages so that's why I missed those changes.

Ahhh, thank you.

So I missed the only chance to get Comet? :(
Every time she shows up in my game she one-shots everything. :D

<3 I hope it's my Comet. She's forever my favorite girl. I love her uppercut. Evolved and at max level of 50, she can one shot basically anything but Hell Mode stage girls. She does have a short range so she dies pretty fast...but I still love her. Her cg is pretty awesome too.

She could come around again, you never know. Probably not for a while though since they repeated her event a week after the first time and it just happened.

How much ST does it take to evolve my level 20 Elfella? I'm level 17, I'm not even sure if I'll have enough if I'm maxed.

Re: [DMM] Tentacles Tactics

So, I guess I can say I'm addicted to this game, but I also think I'm not very efficient and that my team isn't so great right now.

These are the characters I have right now. I just beat the long range gunner but I'm not yet high enough to do the next set of story levels.

Knowing this, what characters should I aim to get for my team? what am I missing? Any idea on what my priorities should be like right now? etc.

The gunner seems kinda cool, should I start putting her in my team and using my whips on her or what?

I have some personal recommendations listed in the 2nd post of this thread if you're curious. I explain a bit about the girls I think are most useful, where to get them from, I rate them, etc. There's also some info in the beginner guide that's more focused at people at your level because the R cards I recommend aren't very useful until you have more energy regen.

Re: [DMM] Tentacles Tactics

Wander over to 4-5 and farm it until you get 1-2 Eflalla's then head to 5-5 to get 1-2 Minamotono's. (5's are cheaper in terms of ST than doing the 6th map)

By the time you get both you'll be a decent level and have enough money to upgrade energy recharge/max energy/number of girls.

I followed Fruit's posts and now I have a silly party that destroys everything.

Tamaki is also a fun pusher early on though she is also expensive. I had her paired with Akeno and it worked very well early on.

Oh, is there a "collect all items" button that I'm missing somewhere? I REALLY hate having to click 20 times to pickup all my whips.

there's suggestions for girls in the first post just read it and you're good to go.

keep Akeno Hibiki on your party, evolve her, and you'll get replacement for martian marte. Akeno will, and should be your main foot soldier except if you have 6th heaven nobunaga or revoice, you can replace her with ranmaru or wizarda.

these girls, when paired, they got stat boosts so here are girls that gives bonuses to each others

- Revoica and Wizarda [Wizarda gains vitality upon defeating enemies. this makes her good as foot soldier]

- 6th Heaven Devil Nobunaga and Ranmaru Mori [Ranmaru does AoE damage. i havent use her but i think she's different than Manqu Qhapac]

- Julius Caesar and Cleopatra [Cleopatra buffs the team with attack boost. when evolved, her max level raised to 40 making her your useful N girl among all]

- Magical Girl Paralaika and Magical Girl Parameer [Paralaika has heal self ability while Parameer has high attack speed. both are mid-range though Elfella outdamage these girls easily]

Ultimiya seems to have relations with Invadia. it's written in Ultimiya's profile though i havent test em yet

Fruit and prima already gave you good pointers. With your current team, you might want to take out Y-Poola and start working on Invadia instead. She's more useful than Y in the long run. Try to get your money up for upgrades on girl roster slot and summon points regen while keeping the summon point cap just a little behind the two. Since you have access to both Minamotono and Elfella stages, you might want to consider farming for those two while leveling your girls before you advance further into the game.

As for the gunner, Nishiki. You probably shouldn't work on her. She was nerfed bad so its not worth working on her anymore unless you have extra space in your roster slots. You can keep your current team but I really suggest replacing Y with Invadia. Other than that, you'll get better options as you progress more into the game. :)

@prima99:

Ranmaru on her own is bad. I tried using her as a main and she doesn't quite work as good as Akane. Need to ask people with Sixth Heaven how she is with the buff though.

Re: [DMM] Tentacles Tactics

Yeah Invadia is pretty cool. I'd say she's a bit above average. It's difficult to find good mid range girls as they usually don't do much on their own and have an extraordinary weakness to projectile immune enemies. Invadia at least has really nice range once she's evolved and decent damage for a mid range girl. I didn't care much for her CG and think Caeser is better, so I use her instead. What makes me sad is how Ultimiya and Yarma are pretty useless atm. I really love Yarma's CGs. She's just too specialized in my opinion though.

Wish I could find that new mid range R girl already to test her, wiki finally got some info on her. It seems she has low attack and has a low energy cost, but her cooldown is the same as most mid range girls, that's not good :( Who cares about their cost... That just makes it seem like she'll be weak for her cooldown time. I'd much rather high cost and lower cooldown, lol.

Re: [DMM] Tentacles Tactics

I have grinded 4-5 sooooooo much and still no elfina. Sad face.

Btw - the most frustrating thing about this game is that, unlike other DMM games, when the DMM website kicks you out and makes you relog on, tentacle tactics DOESN'T save your progress in the current mission.... so 20 minutes of farming down the drain.

Please define "often", 20-30 runs is pretty average for those girls, at least from what i can make out of it. Even 50+ for a R-Card seem "normal" though.
I got lucky and got 2 Elfellas, 2 Yoshitsunes and 1 Jeanne D'arc right away, "just" about 20 runs each card.

Does someone know if Ono no Takamura and Tamaki Tamaki are strong cards?

Yeah 20-50 is pretty average for the rare R girls like Elfella. That means it could even go much higher. It's best not to think too much about it and just play it while you do other things if possible until you find them.

It does suck, but I doubt there's much they can do about it other than maybe only take ST away from you once you finish a map, that seems like it could be abused though to dodge a map if no items drop or you're losing.

Nope no idea on Ono personally as I'm still trying to find her, but the has some of her info now. It seems she's a "Bansei" growth type, which I think means she starts out weak and ends up stronger at high levels.

Tamaki isn't great. She's really specialized, meaning she has uses, but not great for an overall pick. Her long cooldown really kills her potential in my opinion. Of course on a big pushing team she's good. She has like no damage but almost always pushes an enemy back when she attacks. I recently just retested her and came to the same conclusion, that I wouldn't recommend her for most things. I love her art though, so it sucks that I can't afford to keep her in my lineup, darn inventory limit!

Hit the friend icon on the main menu, and click the mail icon with the bow in the top left corner. I'll add you to the player list on the main page.

Oh and it seems there were some bug fixes and balancing done that I missed. As always, if anybody can translate it better than google, it'd be appreciated because it's difficult to understand. You can find the link to the Jap forum below the main window of the game (Just under the comic).

[ Updates ]

Re: [DMM] Tentacles Tactics

I still can't post links, but the 晩成 (Late) vs. 普通 (Normal) vs. 早熟 (Fast-maturing) has an ongoing discussion on the wiki (go to the FAQ section). It is given by the official source as the growth stats that each unit gains per level up. This has been confirmed by the admins that there is a fixed rate based on rarity of the girl in question, but no additional comments are provided - i.e. doesn't tell us anything about base stats or individual girls in question.

There are a bunch of theories being tossed around. Some think that the individual girl in question might also have an effect on what sort of stats that are gained. It might explain why Elfella gets nerfed like three times in a row because her attack strength was monstrous considering each of her arrows count as a separate packet of damage.

(I would really take the wiki stats page with a huge grain of salt. All of that information is painfully tested by players going to a crystal stage and spawning the appropriate girl to see how much damage she does. It's in dire need of an update because updates keep on randomly tweaking stats - like those you posted below).

So I think it's best to understand it as the ones that are "Late" are generally aimed towards more "late-game" rather than early. They've also dropped hints at the fact that they might alter the "growth rate" in the future, thus, another point to keep in mind.

Tamaki is generally viewed as problematic because she causes the enemy mob to blob, which is difficult to handle unless you have a lot of AoE built into your lineup.
