What's new

Re: Akabur - Magic Shop

Humm, for $7500/month, I might work slower than usual too :p

I wouldn't, because I would realize that working slower on purpose would simply frustrate my fanbase and lead to that income diminishing. I do not get the impression that he is dragging his feet in an effort to make money. Add in the fact that even if he releases the game, he would still technically be making $7500/month, potentially even more if the game spreads quickly.

I would work harder and focus on releasing the highest quality game I could. I guess that is just my mindset though.

The dude is constantly releasing new stuff related to Hermione Trainer and now for other projects so I don't see your point. Not to mention, he draws stuff on request for Patrons who donated the appropriate amount. He IS one person, when it boils down to it and it's the community that has gone so far as to offer 7500 a month. But you can't deny that he isn't constantly working and you don't have to be a Patron to know it.
Also, he's not the one proofreading it and testing it. Again, the last thing he said was that he was waiting for the copies to get back. You want to complain, find the people proofreading and testing and yell at them.

Also, if you've looked into patreon campaigns, most have a huge amount of support early, but then drop off quickly if the supporters don't feel that they're actually getting their money's worth. As far as I've seen that hasn't happened with Akabur, but it will if the rewards aren't considered worth it.

He used to be quite a bit more talkative with what was going on. Now there's pretty much just silence.

Re: Akabur - Magic Shop

Because he has said all there is to say about HT at this point. The information about why the game isn't out yet has been said already.

Re: Akabur - Magic Shop

One of the testers uploaded everything on 4chan. Game looks great, but it definitely needs the testing. I look forwards to it now more than ever!

Yeah and now I have it too, but why would he do such a thing if it isn't even done.

Here is the torrent and mega:

Both are from an anon at 4chan.

But be warned it is just a beta, I would recommend waiting for it. Some people also reported a virus.

Re: Akabur - Magic Shop

Any chance this early release would just tick off akabur and make him just drop the game completely?

Never understood leaking a game thats not ready yet and is already going to be free

Re: Akabur - Magic Shop

Nah I doubt akabur would be mad enough to do that, he didnt really show any anger when PT was leaked so idk. Still gonna wait for full version to come out though.

7.5k USD monthly is hardly free - he's being paid to do it, don't make it look like charity. And while I have no objection to artists being paid for good work, somehow I'm not so happy when they tend to not make their product complete (before you get your cannons rolling, I'm talking about how Akabur tends to leave his projects unfinished and with cut content).

I for one would be happy if it made him drop the game - the uproar from butthurt patreon sheep that happily gave him money for procrastinating and delaying the game over and over again would be very funny.

Very e-Pitchfork-esque I imagine. Alas, on the other hand Stockholm syndrome would kick in and scammed customers would be in full damage control mode.

Re: Akabur - Magic Shop

I'm torn...test the beta or whait for full release....:( guys who tested it, what is better?

if you don't mind playing this game with only chibis character porns, be my guest...

I'd prefer waiting for the full release...

-edit-

Oh. Well, that happened. Off to get the 1.01 link and spread it around, I suppose.

Re: Akabur - Magic Shop

Since my internet speeds isn't the fastest it will give me time to cool down before I get my hands on the newest version, so I'll pre-emptively ask:

Does he actually considers the game "finished" with so many cut-content (i.e. tutoring) and lack of CG's?

Re: Akabur - Magic Shop

Eyyyy, now that I think about it, it's my birthday today...

Even if it's a coincidence, I'd like to thank Akabur for such a great surprise birthday gift :D:D:D:D

Re: Akabur - Magic Shop

This night i go to see the last movie of the hobbit (Its released today in spain) and to ocupy myself till this night....good thing that i don't need my right hand in the cinema xD

Re: Akabur - Magic Shop

Oh yea, IT IS TIME. :D

When I loaded his Patreon last night and saw the HT creation was offline, I thought something was going to happen!

@Activspam: You mention downloading this version would give you time to "cool off," and the game is "unfinished." Did you support the project through Patreon? If you did, then send Akabur a message or leave feedback, he is very responsive--although he might be inundated with messages right now. If you didn't, then I'll be blunt, you don't really have shit to complain about. You are getting a free game.

Re: Akabur - Magic Shop

They played Harry Potter 1 on cable last Sunday, could it have been a premonition ? Either case, this is great.
