Few observations/speculations, mostly about current event:
1) Your first foray into a friends event battle will cost you 0 bp, meaning you can jump in w/ your best deck and do the most damage, w/o any concern of your own bp usage. Any succeeding battle will cost the normal bp usage, (as mentioned earlier, by hkdigweed, as equal to half of the decks cost) so you may want to switch to your efficient deck.
2)Efficient deck? It's easy to just make a deck w/ your rare cards and have that deck be your boss raid deck. Likelier than not, though, you'll be wasting your very limited bp, w/c is more noticeable the further you are in the event, when your 'best' deck is dealing <10% of the boss' HP.
Right now I'm using Attack/cost method. I don't know how the battle system works, but I'm assuming that the attack stat is the only stat matters in boss battles (other than perhaps the level boss' defense stat?). Search for a card's attack stat, w/c can checked in multiple ways (don't check using the album), and divide it by its cost, w/c can be found in the deck sub-menu.
For example, say Card A is an HN that has an attack of 2467 and a cost of 9. Divide attack by cost, and we'll assume that her att/cost is 274. Card B is also an HN card w/ 2348 att and cost of 8 = 293. You could say Card B is dealing more damage per point of cost than Card A. The difference may be small in this example, but it'll be bigger comparing an SR to an HN.
With this theory, you'd want your boss battle deck to have the best att/cost cards. If you only have only 2 or even 1 card that has top 'tier' att/cost, you may consider using those 1-2 cards as your boss battle deck. That way you'll make the most out of your bp, even if it is slower this way
You may also want check your cards' element (fire. lighting. water). If your deck, for example, has 3 cards and 2 are of the fire element, it may activate (% chance) a boost during the card battle animation, increasing those cards' stats in that battle. If it doesn't seem to activate or if one of the cards w/ the same attribute isn't getting a boost, it may have something to do w/ the cards skills. Try checking the cards' skills at the album sub-menu and see if they match. So far I've seen 2 different kinds of card skills for fire element cards, 2 for lightning, and 4 for water. There could be more. Much more testing is needed, as i've seen level1 boost, level 2 boost and even a 'delevel' (negative effect) in pvp battles...
3). This events boss battle yield multiple rewards depending on certain achievements, which include who dealt the most damage, who started/'found' the battle (meaning you), and who dealt the killing blow. Having friends take part in the boss battle has its added benefits, such as friendship PT points (Heart, used in PT gacha), and another kind of PT that you can exchange for item in another sub-menu. The more friends you have, the more likely you'll be able to beat the boss in the time limit w/o using items.
So far the only demerit in having others take part in your battle, is losing out on some of the achievement awards. You should consider trying to secure certain achievement in your battles, as well as in your friend's battles. More discussion is needed in this matter.
Take note that you may sometimes lose track of a battle you participated in and lose out on any achievement rewards you thought you have gotten (such as when you do something else in the game, or leave the battle when you're out of bp, then someone else finishes the battle). I don't know if I just missed them or if there's a way to recover your progress. One way around it, is to remain on the boss battle screen, while having the minimal BP for a single attack w/ one of your decks. Remain in that screen, til you believe the boss has been defeated. When you click the red 'battle' button, you'll get the 'You win' screen, and still cash in on your reward, even if the battle has been over for a while. You can't do so if the screen shows you don't have enough BP to battle.
Again most are just theories. Any help, clarification will be most appreciated.
