This one seems up every one's alley, here.

http ://pantisniff.com/?page=article&id=2

Its called PearlDymes, and its a monster-girl breeding game. Its up for funding on OffBeatr with a goal of $15,000 by may 13th. The creators posted it on reddit, and it got almost no traction. I thought maybe it would get more attention here.

Oh hey, I actually briefly contacted the dev and voted for the game to even be available on offbeatr, looks like it made it past the voting phase. Hopefully it'll pick up soon. I'll take a better look at it once I have more money. Thanks for letting me know (even if indirectly) that this made it this far. ^_^

Edit: Holy mother of crap are their stretch goals stretched O____O; I damn near fell out of my chair!! Man, and people complained about Titan's 50k for Alice Unleashed being up there..!

Direct Link:

P.S. Dat $500,000 goal... Sheesh... I mean I know it involves hiring voice actors but... SHEESH... O_O; I'm actually a bit disappointed because in the voting process it sounded like the game had numerous pieces of the stretch goal actually included, there's actually very little there for hitting the 15k... I mean, it still might be a nice game but... Hmmm.......

I don't like how most the game descriptions talk about content that will only be available if they pass their initial goal amount, I think that's seriously misleading. Half the stuff mentioned that will be in the game won't be available until FAR beyond the 15k goal. Make sure you read the stretch goals before putting money into it. I don't think what they're offering for that price is worth it.

Honestly I was just getting the same vibe as you and FruitSmoothie. This feels like a bad investment and like they're aiming too high too soon. There's almost no real content to go on other than a few art images and the icepop game. While the icepop game is nice, it's unrealistic to expect past 10 coins, and there's nothing more to do with it once you reach a five combo and ice cream bukkake on her. It's high quality, but way too short to be worth anything imo past being a free game to get attention and interest accrued. I'd want to see more realistic goals and more content from someone before i'd go dishing out very much money...

Icepop game:

Edit: Yeah, looked at the coding (I did it nicely, just a generic poke at the HTML5 that's actually loaded), and yeah it's pretty straight forward for the Icepop game. You get the suck, the ice cream bukkake, and supposedly there's achievements if you get 999 coins and so forth but I don't see how that's really possible if I'm understanding how it's played. In otherwords... Meh : /

Re: pearldymes

At least half the things they mention will be in the game are stretch goals (That they didn't reach). I really don't like that kind of marketing/deception. You have to scroll down the page for a minute before you can even realize that.

That was the silliest introductory video I've ever seen. "Something happened that turned them into pearls, until now!"

wait, wat

I agree, as a writer you really shouldn't say something as if you yourself have no idea what's going on. That introduction seemed more like it was a game in a foreign language and someone who only speaks English was taking a stab at the story.

But yeah, depending on how much actually make it into the game I might be interested but if it turns out to be "pledge this much, and we'll add this" forget it. Pledging should give the backers gifts not content that should be in the game.

I was gonna post a WTF kinda post till everyone else seems to agree with me, but yea, i'm not sold on the whole broken english part of that very short and lacking video to sell me on the game. Also, anyone else think the art isn't going to be good enough to make the game worth it?

a couple questions i'd like to ask the 'company'...

Why was the video nothing but words and, what, 2 images? How does that sell me into putting money down on it when nothing else is created?

If this is an action RPG meets tomodachi(pokemon), will this be the horrible turn based grind, or will we be platforming or adventuring in our time between the 'deeds'?

Will there be good looking animated sex-scenes, or will we be greated with nothing but plain CG images that maybe have them change face and show the cum, and that's what we are getting?

If anyone can answer those questions, feel free though(i didn't even look at the developers description is how bad the video was.)

I am not sold. also, that name... lazy is all i say.

Re: pearldymes

Hm. I recall seeing this before - maybe we already have a thread on this, maybe I saw it somewhere else.

The main concern still seems very valid: The game they promise is the $100k stretchgoal version.
So you basically have to read most of the descriptions with
"we have this cool idea, but you won't actually get it until we have way more money, nanner-nanner"
Which sucks. Sure, I can understand why they'd do it this way, but still.
This is why having significant stretch goals sucks: People have to pledge for something that may never happen.

If you need 100k to make your game, set the goal at 100k. That's what a goal does - it's a promise "Either we get a shot at this, or you get your money back"

Re: pearldymes

so i found a post from the dev team in the futanari palace forums and this is what the guy said about the stretch goal thing

Thank you for very much your support! About the stretch-goals, they are carefully calculated and based on the minimal amount we need to develop the game, not on how "famous" we are. Also please understand PearlDymes will be a large game which includes at least everything up to the 100K stretch-goal, but the content of the stretch-goals we don't reach will be added in free updates after the initial release.
We hope this answers your questions about why the stretch-goals seem high.

Kind Regards,

Studio Pantisniff
what you guys take from this is all up to you

of course the source is from the last post of this thread on the site

I don't think it'll get up to 50k. But to be honest, I'd be happy with the just the regular 15k. It'll be like one of Masurao's earlier works which I enjoy SOOO much more than his later stuff.

Hopefully there's dialogue and stuff.

I'm going to go off on a limb and say that the game will release with the basic pack, and that the other updates including training, battle, and online will be added after the standard game edition has been released, presumably once they've gained some revenue. I'm not a fan of how they set the goals either, but at least backers have been guaranteed the fundamentals of the game will come to fruition, regardless of the goals that have been met (at least in my interpretation).

The problem is the amount of money they're looking for. 500k is... beyond ambitious, especially for a hentai-game.

We'll see though. I'm interested about how the game will turn out, both in seeing if the game is a success, and if crowd-funded h-games are a viable path for developers.

I reckon they are viable, but they have to keep the asking amount low, and also...that the crowdfunding be tied in with the game somehow...

like how tentacle bento had pledges that let you have a girl created as a card :)

One of the things about crowdfunding is that people end up wanting to have impractical stretch goals. Reaching all of the goals in a fund-raising campaign can be counter productive. For one, it decreases incentive for further funding. Secondly, it begs the question "Where does the extra money go?" which can make donors nervous.

That said, the goals for this project seem to be pretty heavily gated on the second half. The latter goals get exponentially more expensive, and while they do offer considerably more content than the lower goals, I wonder how it might affect people's perception if they were split into smaller improvements across that range.

I also worry that this will end up being spread way too thin. Its design is very 'pokemon' in form, which lends itself to generic animations shared across the variety of character types. It might help the quality of animation that everything is a humanoid female, at least.

I`m finding issue with the ridiculous and wasteful stretch goals - Nevermind that there is no way in hell they`ll reach funding, the goals themselves are garbage.
Smartphone? Online mode? A documentary? An anime?
Writing off that half of this is near impossible for them to accomplish, all of that would be an astounding waste of funding.
Writers and voice actors are not hard to find, even for hentai/porn games.
Their list just makes it seem like they really don't know what kind of money they need.

I'm kinda tempted to back this. If anything their art quality looks great even when I know the only thing I will like is Earth Dymes.
