I've been rather disappointed with the game so far.

I can't deny that the art of the heroine is simply outstanding, and the premise of a true adult for once as female MC was too tempting to pass up for me.

However, the pixel art is terrible (even as a so-called tribute to DQ games, some of my NDS DQ games have way better sprites than this, and the games are much older, hell even VH sprites blow this thing out of the water), the music is just worth being muted, no voices or sound effects to speak of, the gameplay dates back to stone-age as someone said in this thread, everything is slow as heck, and it doesn't help that 80% of the written text is in Hiragana.

Why do RPG developers feel like they must reinvent the wheel as time advances ?

What's so wrong with VX's basic interface that someone has gone out of their way to create those crappy menus, which have the feat to be even less user-friendly than the ones of most Wolf games I've played ? Yeah, waste some more of my time with your UI, after wasting my time grinding through your boring game...

I just reached the tower, got the key from the old man, and stopped playing. Please tell me that it gets better after this, I want to keep playing for some insane reason, but I really need motivation at this point.

I guess you are not a fan of the Classic DQ games, The new ones are good. I agree that the DS version of DQ are great games but the classic DQ games are truely the best DQ games, the first 3 DQ games were hard but they were really fun.

I can't motivate you to play this game if you are not a fan of the old DQ games, but you should like the classic if you like the new ones.

is there any way to set your respawn point to another town?

Buy "wing"-items from any item vendor and you can teleport to any town you have visited.

I am so lost, clearly the norm by the looks of things.

I've saved the princess, got the exhibition scene in the town with the arena and brothel and now the guy who made you exhibition yourself is in a cell behind the brothel being beaten. I've killed a horse demon thing and that's about it.

The church that's full of people having sex is still as is, don't know what to do there. I've got the golden doors key yet I seem to have lost the previous key, is this supposed to happen? I'm actually enjoying this game with all it's faults but it is so confusing that it's becoming quickly infuriating. Doesn't help that the language is gobbledegook, even with text hooker and the like.

Where is the brothel town located? I've managed to find the church cult where everybody is having sex, how does one go about "fixing" it?

When you get through the guard post after saving the princess, keep going north (keeping left) and you'll encounter a cave. Get through to the end and then go west after exiting the cave. Should come across the brothel town.

When I see the pixelated (with exact detail for field/sea/mountain/forest), I have to say that I was quite delighted, taking me back to those sweet old SNES cartridge moment...

although this also gives me a kind of mixed feeling, since the last time I played a game with this graphic is when I'm still a pure, little kid looking for excitement in playing as a hero saving the world, unlike now, where it's for the... excitement... in playing... this and that...

I'd like to know this as well. However, word of caution to everyone, if you do the exhibition event you can't work at the brothel again, or at least, I haven't found out if you can ever work there again, the brothel guy just always says the same thing.

The CG's are so nice.... couldn't play more than 10 minutes though. This old shitty grafixXxx make this game unplayable. The text and the menus are also strange. Also My translator only gives me rubbish. Why the fuck aren't they using the newer RPG makers?? Seriously i wouldn't want to waste my time with this.

Alright, I've reached what I think is the brothel town (there were some dancers), but he keeps refusing me and I don't know where to go from here.

Is there a full walkthrough somewhere?

EDIT: Also, does anyone know where to find the costumes?

I'm stuck after getting the golden door key. I've gone through the second tower (don't know how to move the skeleton blocking that one treasure chest), checked out the various warps, and the one that doesn't kill me on the first encounter brings me to a town where I get abducted after sleeping in the inn.

You get afflicted with some major debuff that cripples your stats, get a scene when you lose to the skeleton guards, then can escape out the hole in the wall and use a warp item (one of which is on the floor and respawns to prevent being trapped). I assume the trick is to cure the debuff and beat the guards, but I have no idea how to cure it from inside the cell.
