the boss fight is easily the easiest part. just stand on the top platform and shoot down+left/right, jump down to the right platform once you break some rocks to replenish health rinse and repeat. for me the real challenge is the flies in combination with the alien soldiers, the alien soldiers feel too op like if you get hit with the first shot you are guaranteed to take the next 2 and each one does a bit too much damage i think. i assume there will be more checkpoints around the... sky pillar area in the future because getting sent all the way back to the start of it is annoying.
Yeah, there will be more checkpoints. The Warped Soldier was nerfed slightly in the upcoming v.10 update, and I'll also be lowering their damage slightly (from 5 damage to 4 per bullet) in v.11, but I won't be nerfing them any further; keep in mind Crisis Point is going to have several collectible health upgrades in the final version, each of which increase your max HP by 99 points. Collecting even one of those will make a huge difference against the soldiers.

@beepboopdoop - Huh, never even played Megaman & Bass. I had to google the name to figure out what miniboss you were talking about, lol. There are definitely some similarities but the two fights play out quite differently. Interesting that the lower left corner is one of the safest spots for both bosses though!

In other news, time for a small update!



This is a mockup of the map pause screen that will be available in v.10. Most of the information on this map is self-explanatory, so I'll go over the purpose of it a bit more.

When you pause Crisis Point, you'll open up this menu here. It has most of the basic information the player might want to know; ammo count, player status, completion %; and, of course, there's the map. The map is a wonderful tool capable of storing wonderful information. To be precise, the player can highlight any given area of the map and place a note there. These notes can have any information you want written down, whether it's information about a powerup you saw and couldn't get to, or something entertaining you noticed, or whatever. Write to your heart's content! The layout of this map screen is subject to change, but the functionality is not. Notes are a system I will be implementing due to the exploratory nature of Crisis Point, and I feel like it would greatly improve the experience as a whole.

Because of this map screen, in v.10 the screen-covering map will no longer be available. However, you'll still be able to access the minimap while you travel.

Time for another small update!



In v.10, the first "status effect" will finally make its way into the game. Most status effects in Crisis Point will reduce Alicia's mobility in some way, such as the one above. When Alicia gets hit by something that causes her to limp, her movement options are drastically reduced - she can no longer run, jump, slide, or kick, and her aiming is limited to shooting straight forward. In addition to that, any attack that hits her while she's limping will cause her to immediately become KO'd, and thus open for sex.

As you can see it hasn't changed too much, just fixing her useless second arm and a few tweaks here and there. I think it looks quite a bit better, myself.

Aside from that, I also wanted to assuage some of your possible concerns by talking about the pause system a little bit. Aside from allowing you to.. y'know.. pause the game, it will also allow me to manually pause the game's functions whenever you grab an upgrade, or get into dialogue with an NPC. Luckily with v.10, gone are the days where you try to grab that Force Shot ammo upgrade, only to be nailed by a passing slime while you're still reading dialogue!

Hmm. Something about her right arm seems off. Looks too thin IMO. Might just be perspective though.

That'd be because part of that arm is being covered up by her boobs :p

Aye, I see that after a bit of consideration. Just seems that the line formed by her boob covering her arm looks a bit too straight or something. Then again, it's hard to tell with pixel-based stuffs, so I may just be seeing things. XD

Nonsense, any feedback at all is valuable. I'm sure there's something I can do to make it more readable, I'll try fiddling around with the sprite a bit. Thanks! :)

I think it would look pretty good if she started with the original animation and ended with the new one.

Great game so far, really reminds me of another favorite of mine (Parasite in City).

I might echo another poster and suggest a checkpoint somewhere after the flies (not sure when precisely). It gets to the point where the area is super tedious before you get the grapple, then as soon as you get it, even if you die you still have it, so the further back checkpoint isn't so bad, but BEFORE that is slightly obnoxious.

Also, is there any word yet on when the game will save checkpoints and the like between sessions? I really like the game, but playing the beginning every time I want to get to new things makes me feel like I'm trying out for one of those Metroid speed runs. :p

And do you plan on offering a warp functionality to the various checkpoints as a completion bonus when the game is done? I feel like that might add some replayability to be able to just warp to your favorite boss, and I tend to prefer such things over your standard gallery, but I can understand if it'd be difficult with things like missable powerups and whatnot.

I like her voice as well, the slightly deeper tone makes the MC stand out, and also seems closer to her age. I like high pitched voices fine, but usually for younger less "mature" characters, so it can sometimes be offputting for fully grown girls.

Lastly, any word on when/what the next boss will be?

Sorry for all the questions, just interested.

Can't wait to witness the MC's future misfortunes, keep up the good work!

Sorry to bring this up again, but uh... did we ever solve this mystery?

There is no option to change it to mp4. I coincidentally ran into this issue like an hour ago, and couldn't find that option anymore. Maybe they removed it.

The elipsis in the center just gives you the option of reporting the image.
A few posts under that one, someone says "looks like the .mp4 version is only available after login", but that isn't true. I'm logged in, it shows my name, and I still sometimes have no .mp4 button.

I have no idea. I stopped using gyazo a while ago because of this very problem, I've been creating gif's of all the H-scenes I want to show off instead. Last time I checked I still get the .mp4 option, though.

@Wiiown - Thanks! I'm glad you enjoy the game :)

I plan on adding more checkpoints for the v.11 release, so unfortunately the next one won't have them, but after that it should be better.

The game won't be saving checkpoints between sessions for quite a while, since I don't want to have to worry about problems between saves. However, there will be other systems in place to make repeated playthroughs less tedious, like teleporters to bring you to later parts of the game with all of the equipment you need.

I haven't honestly thought about warping, but why not? I'll most likely have a system to allow warping between save points later on.. you know, once there are actual save points, lol. I could probably include a New Game + option too, but that's something to think about far down the road. Regardless, I'm open to a 'gallery' that's more interesting than just click-and-play!

I'm glad you like her voice. I do plan on getting a new actress, namely an english one that can actually record lines for me, but I want to keep the lower-pitched voice, as I agree with you - it fits Alicia very well compared to something high and squeaky.

The next boss will be showing up very soon; I want to finish it for v.11, but if that doesn't happen, definitely v.12!

No worries about asking many questions, I don't mind answering them at all. Thanks for all of your interest in the project! :)

Just my own thoughts on the new sprite. While I'm not really bothered by the small arm, Alicia doesn't really seem to be bothered much by the latcher, but rather annoyed. I get that boob-sucking is much less a threat than rape (well, I can't give credence to that, since I'm a dude, but just IMO), but it just seems like Alicia has no urgency in getting the thing off, in both her movements and her facial expression. Heck, if you look at it one way, it almost seems like she's nursing the damn thing. (Ugh, and now I can't UNSEE that...sorry).

But yeah, you're awesome and the game's progress is spectacular, so I'm happy with anything you produce. :D

i have a couple of suggestions regarding this enemy. they act like land mines at the moment which is good and all but there could be mobile versions, probably best in poorly lit areas. if you get one on you it is this animation, easy to break free from. two and its slightly harder and increases lust faster (if that is going to be a thing), 3 and same again but they have a finish anim and you are knocked down after it or breaking free. breaking free should also not make them disappear. tall order i know, just wanted to put it out there. anyway great work so far, cant wait for the next version

oh i forgot about the other suggestion. whether or not there are mobile ones, the trap versions could "lead" your movement so if you trigger one and carry on moving in the same direction at the same speed they will hit you but if you stop or change direction you can dodge them. right now most of them are quite easy to evade.

.10 is out for patrons so yes .09 is the current version for non-patrons

Thanks! Always nice to hear people like what I'm making :)

As for the latcher, that's kind of the point? It is more of an annoyance to her than anything, especially when there aren't any other enemies in the area. It can't even hurt her at that point. Her looking more annoyed than distraught over it was very much intentional. Still, thanks for the feedback, and I'll definitely take it into consideration!

@Jesus - At the moment, the Latchers are really supposed to be a non-threat unless there are other enemies in the area. They're more intended to catch you off-guard if you aren't paying attention to your environment while you're fighting. I am considering making them 'lead' the player like you mentioned, but I don't think I'll be making them more mobile or giving them multi-Latcher scenes. As far as them disappearing when you break free, there's a reason for that that will be explained in-game later on. Truth be told it's mostly because I don't want to have to worry about what happens to them after she breaks free :p They can't exactly fly back to their original position lol. I do have a lore reason behind it, though. Thanks for the feedback!

@Nossiob - Like Jesus mentioned after you, v.09 is the latest public version. v.10 will be going public in just a few days though, on the 25th!

Hey there everybody, last update before v.10 goes public tomorrow!

This one is pretty small, showing what happens to Alicia when the new enemy manages to hit her.



This is one of the 'limping' states I mentioned recently, and will severely limit Alicia's movement and combat abilities. She will get knocked over instantly by any attack, limiting the amount of damage she'll take, but also leaving her immediately open to being grabbed and fucked by an enemy. Somehow I don't think most people will mind that too much.. :p


I also want to let you guys know what the future of public updates is going to hold. I'm sure many of you have realized that, considering Crisis Point is going to be a paid product, there will eventually be a cutoff point where demos stop going public - it would be silly to give away an 80% complete product for free and expect people to purchase the full version, after all.

Crisis Point will soon reach its 2nd boss fight, which marks around 30% of the game content being complete. Unfortunately, this is where I'm choosing to stop releasing betas for free - not including a fully polished, official demo release at some point down the line. However, I absolutely do not want to leave people out of the loop. After the 2nd boss fight is finished and fully implemented (I'm currently anticipating this to happen in v.12,) betas for Crisis Point will stop going public, BUT information about game progress (including screenshots and livestreams) will immediately go public the moment they are released, instead of after a one-month gap. Once this happens, I'll be retooling the $1 tier on Patreon to give rewards other than early game news, and (as mentioned above) posting any future text/screenshot updates or livestream announcements to the public.

If anyone has ideas for what they'd like to see as a $1 Patreon reward, or any other kind of feedback, feel free to let me know. I want to make this project as inclusive as possible while still being able to make a living off of it. Thank you all for the support you've given me, Patron or not - I appreciate all of it!
