Re: monster girl quest 3d

Ah, didn't read that. Equally I didn't spend much time in the forum, basically just read the "Concept Art", "Something about Monster girl models", and "Unimportant stuff to add to the game to make it more fitting for western audience and destroy the original game" threads.
There's that word. "Western Audience". What I fail to understand is why take a game that was released in Japanese and only played by people who had in interest in such a thing, then try and twist it to a "western audience"? Any audience for the game is already there, why change it? It makes no sense.
It sounds like he's trying to rebrand the game. If he's doing this with the intent of selling this abomination I'm going to be really upset.

Well, yeah......compared to MGQ this game is gonna be shit..

But compared to all those other 3D RPG BF-type games.....Oh wait, there are hardly any and none that are actually worthwhile. I don't really understand why this is being compared to MGQ in terms of quality. Fine, yes, the some of the mechanics are similar and the characters that the community like are being re-used, but the concept is fresh, and imo quite interesting. Also some of the models are indeed horrific but some are fairly decent and are improving as development progresses.

Hmm...not quite sure if you're trolling, your English comprehensive skills are low or you're just plain stupid. It's! A! Remake!

Making a remake means to take original material and re-create it usually with a new look, updated graphics and/or add new material.

Of course it's going to be compared to MGQ, it's the original game this is based off of! Similar mechanics? Re-used characters!? Did you actually read anything written here, on the kickstarter, or the site for the game!?

As for the models, yes some of them are decent and if this was a original game I wouldn't complain much....BUT (broken record) this is a REMAKE.....R-E-M-A-K-E of one of the most iconic H-games for mon-musu out there. Decent is just not good enough. Near perfection only puts you on the starting line for models. The goal is to take what's been made and make it as close or if you can, better than the original models. This game fails to do so on an epic level. Can it change? Sure, but hopes are not high since for it to get better while having a anime-style quality they HAVE to abandon the way they are making models and start from scratch with cell-shading. And they aren't going to do that.

I'm not going to touch the "fresh concept" part of your post....don't think I need to at this point.

Well, thanks for your opinion though.

Ah and GMason, I've been wondering about that for years. Been seeing western bastardization since the Sega/Nintendo console wars.

Lol, I remember the kick starter for this, Some anon put up a 5,000 dollar pledge as what I can only imagine was a joke. Thing is the models looked even worse back then.

Woaaah someone needs to calm down there, i have been to the site and i have read the rest of this thread.

I said that its based off MGQ or at least i didnt say it wasn't, but I think we disagree on what R . E . M . A . K . E means.

First of all i would say it's not a remake because;

The play style is not the same, so therefore it's a different type of game, ie its not a cg based game. The CGs, the battle system, and the story are what makes MGQ unique and so to me, a remake would be if they kept the same model for this but replaced the content. It could be branded a remake by some people, but that's your (or their) opinion. Yes some of the battle mechanics are the same or similar but the other 2 things that make MGQ unique are not being transferred into the game. They kept the characters (and parts of the story?)

Also to call me a troll, disagree with me to the point where you call me stupid or blind and then say "thanks for your opinion" is ridiculous. Choose whether you think my opinion is worth something or not.

I was trying trying to get across that if the original MGQ didn't exist i doubt there would as much criticism on this thread. I also agree with you on how they should have potentially used a better method when creating the models.
