RPG [D.O. Corp.] Crystal Rinal

So, I'm mainly posting because I'm slightly stuck, but as this is the first post on the game I guess I better make it a full intro post. Ahem!

You play some kid (Atlas is translating it as "Youhira" so I suppose we'll go with that) who's bored of life. (Well, that's what I think he's saying!) The school nurse tries to cheer him up in a rather unorthodox fashion, but it doesn't seem to help much.

Before leaving school, though, he and a classmate are caught in a small earthquake, and a magical mirror appears in front of them. This sucks them in, and they find themselves stranded in a peculiar dungeon...

This is a PC-98 game, and is mostly a 3D dungeon crawler.

The story unfolds as you navigate the corridors searching for a way home. The dungeon seems to have quite a lot of monsters that enjoy raping girls in it... And you pretty quickly obtain an item that can "disarm" people attacking you, clothes and all. The pictures are fairly decent, with animated lip flaps/blinking/etc. though the combat isn't particularly inventive (you attack, or use items dropped by monsters to perform a variety of magic).

Seems to be legit, but has a lot of ads and stuff on the page.

Anyway, as to where I'm stuck; I've got past Alda into the accommodation section, and am not sure how to proceed. I've found the girl from Japan and questioned everyone about her, but she still won't talk to me. What am I supposed to do next? Backtrack several floors up to talk to people? Or am I missing something in this area?

Ah, problem solved - I did need to backtrack a few floors, to get a better weapon. Carry on!

It looks so oldschool that actaully reminds me those early Dos-3.x-6.x era games(Early PC-98 era if you are in japen.)like Ultima 5-7.
And the title, I swear I've heard that title back in the 80s, from a taiwan ero-gaming magaze.
Damn, I just miss the 80s.

It's actually one of the early-mid 90s games (1994 to be precise), so kind of in the middle PC-98 era. Same year as Raidy, in fact, and very similar in gameplay and style. Probably more tactics than Raidy has - Crystal Rinal has magic to buff or debuff stats, status effects, and two person parties (with the second person acting independently, but doing useful things like healing you when you get too low). Raidy of course has those strippable girl enemies, whereas the enemies in Crystal Rinal are... well... horrific alien beasts. All pulsing external organs and mouths that jump out at you on stalks and stuff.

1994 should be the late PC-98 era after window 95/plus(1996) came out they had been switch to PC-E era and fail right after win98/se came out.

One of the outer walls is fake; you have to examine them to find which it is. Face the wall, then choose actions and examine. (You might need to trigger some text before it will let you). It's right in the centre of one of the walls, I believe.

Note: If you're using Anex (which makes sense, as it's hookable by AGTH) you can save state with Alt-F1 up to Alt-F9 (except for Alt-F4, for obvious reasons).

God damn I love the artstyle of these games. Played all of which where translated. I dunno, I think theres just some kind of charm behind it. If you like those, check out pia carrot etc etc.

It's a Hard Disk Image file; you need a PC-98 emulator to play it. The usual ones that people recommend are Neko Project, Next or Anex. Find info on them here:

Next or Neko Project probably give better emulation, but Anex is hookable by AGTH without needing any H-codes, so is probably preferred for Japanese games like this one. Download Anex, start it up, then load the hard disk image in HDD slot 1 and hit Start to begin playing it. (Well, I'd probably set up a shortcut to hook AGTH into it first, but same difference). Once some text has appeared on screen AGTH will get a thread called "Anex" on it which has all the text.

Is your computer set to hide file extensions? (Is the rest of the filename correct?)
