trying to apply the patch to demo i ran into this

Could not parse the following script translation: '第１章『魔女のお仕事』'->'Act 1 "Witch's Duties"

ignore it for now?

Edit: it can't get it finish, it just freezes at 98% i've tryed rebooting and killing it via task manager, nothing worked

Edit 2: The Link for Patch is messed up, it's giving me v3 instead of v4, any ideas why?

You've downloaded v4; those error messages relate to strings which aren't translated in v3. As to the error messages, they can be ignored for now; I screwed up there (although I don't know why I don't see any error messages on my end! I should!). In any case, the v5 I just uploaded fixes these - thanks for bringing it to my attention.

As to the hang - could you open a bug report on the RPGMaker Trans bugtracker? Fixing it may require some technical info on your computer and as much as I like these forums, ULMF isn't the place for it. Alternatively, try again with v5 - I don't think it's the case, but it's possible the errors might be causing something to go wrong.

when i try to run the translated version it says it can't find CommonEvents.rvdata2, i think i found what is causing it, also i'm using windows 10, i don't think that's causing it

No. That's Act 2 material.

As I said, if you want good technical support, please file a bug report. However, CommonEvents is not what I would think would cause problems - there's nothing special about that file. If you're seeing errors relating to that, then the most likely explanation is that you quit the patcher before it is finished. The last 2% takes a little bit longer than the rest.

Ah, now I'm nostalgic for the old patcher double progress bars,
where the top was "% of all files" and the bottom one was "% of this file" -
perhaps worth doing so people don't grow impatient as quickly?
Though I'm not sure how easily that's measurable in this setup...

I did consider it ages ago, but these types of progress bar are annoyingly impractical when you're making a patcher that spans multiple exe's and 2 programming languages. Also there's no good way of telling the amount of effort in the files either, so I just guess based on file size. And apparently get it wrong.

Oh, I get what's happened. For reference, that's actually normal for RPGMaker Trans, but certainly not normal for most programs so I don't blame you for thinking it had crashed or something. It's due to the fact that currently RPGMaker Trans spans multiple rpgmakertrans.exe's as well as a bunch of rubyw.exe's. So even if Task Manager says RPGMaker Trans isn't doing anything, it probably is.

In any case, this is my favourite type of problem: it doesn't require any effort on my part to fix!

Can you lose your virginity in the latest demo?

You can get the scene where a slime makes you lose virginity (by losing to any normal slime or to the slime master guy and then failing the QTE), but you won't actually lose your virgin status.

Hmm. Should have explained better earlier (although I did a looong time ago); this game takes the definition of virginity to be "having a hymen". Hence the reason why Brigit doesn't lose her virgin status is because a slime, being liquid, cannot break her hymen.

In terms of what the game considers losing virginity, that can happen from Act 2 onwards.

Huh, so it's a feature and not a bug that she remains a virgin. She even complains losing her virginity to a slime of all things during the scene but I guess that's just one more "I'll be forever ruined as a bride now!" thing then. With the QTE event and all it really looked otherwise.

Er, no, she doesn't say that during the slime scene. In fact, she says the opposite (my translation has the line "I'm still a virgin! I'm still a virgin... I'm still a virgin.. but a slime is raping me.."). Felengel also mentions the same thing on arrival at the island, although less directly.

Rest assured, there will be plenty of opportunities for Brigit to be deflowered in later Acts. Also as a note: the QTEs seem to be before any penetration, including anal.

Most of the time I figure out what's going on, but looks like sometimes you get the exact opposite.

Well with the time of release if it's the 18th which is a Friday, in America it'll be about afternoon on Thursday but for me in Australia we're the same as Japan mostly so the release should be friday morning when dlsite opens i think it's 9am not certain on this.

looking forward to either play it early morning/late night if dlsite upload it then (unlikely) or early morning when i wake up tomorrow

And to celebrate the release, I've released a highly experimental version of my patch.

Seriously highly experimental. It needs a special version of RPGMaker Trans. However, the benefit is that the experimental patch enables support for a specialised translator, VPM_Companion.

Advantages to VPM_Companion - won't garble the translation due to persons names being present, won't mangle choices together. Doesn't require AGTH or any other text hook program. Colour coded.

Disadvantages: It will likely crash at some point. It may even crash VPM itself at some point. Requires ATLAS.

I would love to test it if I could, but I always get stuck at 98% whenever I use your tool. And in this case for the actual game itself that I just bought, it gets stuck at 99%. Also whenever that happens, I get around 20 processes of RPGMaker Translation Tool in my Task Manager. A real pain really
