aye and aigis was supposed to be released the first week of february as well but yet again we got nothing.
They really need to do something about their deadlines :s

I've been trying to figure out a model for easily determining the approximate value of a 4M SR card. It seems there are 2 important factors. First, there's the base damage (attack and skill). Second, there is the total for initiative and critical chance. The result of this measure tells me a few things.

Mabel is a beast. Her damage is very high, AND she has a fairly high total init/crit. This made it no surprise that when I finally got her to 4M she made more of an impact than any of my other cards did.

Sandra has good init/crit totals, but her damage is fairly low. However, I think most players will be able to get 4 of her cards to 4M before they ever see 4 cards of anything else (except Rebecca).

Homura has high damage, but her init/crit rate is so low that it brings her average damage down probably to the level of Sandra or lower.

Rebecca has fairly low damage and only moderate init/crit. She's one of the worst cards.

I consider damage as a single factor for 4M cards because at 4M every card does > 0 damage to every currently available mega boss. If they ever actually get around to adding new content my paradigm will shift because I know on the Japanese version there get to be mega bosses with outrageous defense totals in the tens of thousands.


It was January before. it's not like they need to develop it, it's already existing content, true they need to translate it and uncensor it... but it's not like there is ton's of text in this game.

Started playing the other day.
Currently lvl 31 at quest 10 (almost done) with 20 comrades.
Recently started getting rare cards, 3 Sophies so far.
Kinda interesting so far.
Just need something else to do in between stamina/force recharges.

On the update for LoV, I've read two things which NutakuDev mentioned were giving them issues one is working with the japanese developer on how we are going to run events, which they were originally hoping to have in the first patch but it sounded like that might take a little longer, and then on the Aigis stream the other day they are working on getting 14 more of the Valkyries approved by the banks.

If you don't read their facebook new release date for Aigis is the 12th.

I'm inclined to give Nutaku some wiggle room. They are a brand new company, and giving us translated games we haven't seen before. Plus debugging your programs sucks...alot. If a single missing semi-colon can crash and burn simple programs I have no idea how much of a pain it must be to search thru 1000s of lines of code searching for errors or why different objects don't want to work together like you hoped. XD

I'm bored, and I've read a few times about people comparing a bunch of cards, so...... yeah. On the spreadsheet, I will be creating a list of average 4M damage for every Valkyrie in the game. Keep an eye out for it later today.

EDIT: It's up and running. So far it only has the SRs' info filled in. I'm still working on it. Change the defense value to match what you want to compare them to.

Devs have said they have done their part already with the update. They're waiting on DMM to make a release build. There was a pastebin or something that contained a Q&A from their last stream but I don't have the link anymore.

I have the most insanely awful luck with upgrading my right hand. I've had three L13 fodder items destroyed in a row along with a ton of other pieces just before that. At that point it says 85 to 90 percent success, but I'm not sure I trust it. That could just be my perception since I just quit another game where the player's confirmed the devs were being dishonest with success rates.

But out of curiosity has anyone else noticed the same thing?

Had 2 98% fail, and that on the same day, don't remember what lvl it was though.
then again, I haven't been playing that long.

I'll probably run in to this more though, RNGs can be cruel...

With regards to the RNG:

For an Random Number Generator to feel fair to the players 80% of the outcome should favor the player (as opposed to 50%), so odds are...if the game's RNG feels unfair, then there's a pretty good chance that the game is just refusing to babysit you instead.

...Unless the generator is tied with the amount of money the game can make, in which case it's a little bit worrisome.

I don't seem to be having too many problems so far in terms of upgrading. Then again my highest items are only at +8 right now which is 97% success rate. Would need to gather a lot more information to determine whether or not it's just your luck or not. Failed my first item today though in about 200+ upgrades or so without 100% success rate.

A: The Walkure update, I don't have an ETA for. We've done everything on our end; the remaining work is on the JP side (Smilemaker).
We're asking them to finish it as swiftly as possible. I can say that there will be ~50 new Valkyries and 25 more quest levels.

It would take over 4000 items to make a +9 go +20, don't believe me? The easiest or most suitable way to get weapons, considering you would always get weapons, always win, and never fail enhancements is +9 weapon at arena.

The math for that stands as 2^11+2^10+2^9+...2^2 or if you're poor at math I'll spell it out for you: 2+4+8+16+32+64+128+256+512+1024+2048.

No need to do the math there either, there's a simple formula but I'll spare you that, the answer is over 4000. So unless you get a +20 straight up, your upgrades are NOT going "ok", sadly.

I agree that upgrading is a total pain in the ass with what we currently have, but your math is slightly flawed. I believe I said this in the chatango at some point but didn't actually post it because I figured nobody cared.

The amount of items it takes to enhance from a given level x to a target level y is equal to 2 ^ (y - x).
For example, enhancing with +9s to +20, it would take 2 ^ (20 - 9) = 2 ^ 11 = 2048. You do not add up all of the subsequent powers of two.

A rather simple proof is to use ladles and enhance to +2. It takes four Ladles (2 ^ 2), not seven (2^2 + 2^1 + 2^0). You can easily visualize this as such:
0 + 0 = 1
. . . . . . + = 2
0 + 0 = 1
There are four non-enhanced Ladles shown above.

Of course, all of this assumes you never fail an enhancement, which will inevitably happen more than once in the 2048 attempts.

Lets not forget the greatest hindrance in upgrading gear. Failure. Every level of upgrading gives an ever increasing chance of failure, and we have an incredibly limited supply of odds-improving consumables. I don't know the exact math, but I'd wager a guess that in practice it would take double or triple (at least) the materials to get gear to L20 that it would take if failure didn't exist.

Edit: Didn't notice the first time reading that ShinV actually does mention this issue.

Hey guys I've got a question for veterans of the jp version of the game: so when the new events roll out, I'm thinking of forming exploration teams out of the rares that I've picked up so far. I've mapped out 3 teams of 8 rares each, but I can't decide if they are all worth 4M or if I can get away with 4S rares for the exploration teams, as it would save me a lot of time, space, money and I'd get their H scenes faster (giggity). Thoughts?

Working under the assumption that you'll want these teams to last as long as possible you'll want to 4m them all. Biggest reason being, the success requirements are binary, you either make the number or you don't. If 180,000 is the requirement and your team is 179,500 because you cut some corners only thing you can do is fix it by properly 4m your cards(costing time and money) or replace it with an SR+ at least (definitely costing money and maybe time).
