The protagonist too me revolves around the enemies. I am not into yaoi or any of that, so if the protag is male, I of course prefer female enemies.

Female protags can get away with ANYTHING. Raped by males, robots, tentacles, females, futas, animals, slimes, ect. ect.

I think my two favorite types of enemies would have to come down to hypnotizing/possessing monsters, and genderswapping.

For me gameplay should come first. If the game have very nice art but bad gameplay. It's better to go watch H-anime

The h-content should go with gameplay. So I prefer act game with victory-H, BF or BS (player should try hard and challenge for get reward). I rarely play RPG because most of them are boring and same gameplay with RPG Maker engine.

I'm OK with male or female mc. It's depend on gameplay and story that match the mc or not. But if not consider about those; I prefer male mc because he can has harem. More girls better than a girl isn't it He can be a good/bad guy. The girls should defence themself if it's rape situation. It's weird if girls enjoy being rape. But still rape is bad so I like game with light, comedic theme. Example - Hentai Apocalypser ZUBRIUS and PENIX; even it's games with rape but it's still not look serious and funny.

i don't remember any Victory Rape in Kamidori Alchemy Meister since the H Scenes are mostly events or by dressing up the girls.

well, my kind of H Protagonist is Male, well cuz i'm a Male. Female protagonists are overrated and overused. there hardly any good Male Protagonist in most H Games up today. i prefer Male Protag that you can put your name and customize it yourself cause i find it more satisfying to play as yourself. i do enjoy some games with Good Male Protag in it. by Good Male Protag, i mean they aren't typical Luka-ish protagonists. a lot of good male protag comes from Alicesoft's Dai series but too bad, too fucking bad Alicesoft likes to throw in some RAPE which RAPES most of the main Heroine. all of my RAGE to you, Alicesoft (they got me REAL REAL REAAAALLLLLL BAD in Toushin Toshi 3)

most H Games should takes a very, very very very good example from Cherry Poi's Zurine games. it's simple Action game with simple graphic yet soooooo many peoples are crazy about it (including me as well). it is one of the very few H games that doesn't have astonishing graphics yet able to bring the H into the H Game. Eushully games are fun in terms of gameplay. but damn shame they only offer CGs, and it's lack of Quantity. Eushully games are good for gamers, but definitely not good for fappers. grinding is fun and quest stuff too but when H Games fails to deliver the H, it just fails.

another one would be games by Illusion, everybody's favourite 3D H Game developer. well, pretty much only the "Artificial" series worth the shit. they're good with making Trailers for their crappy games so don't get tempted by it, it's a Trap.

we need more Male Protagonist that is not some Luka boy. Males gets their nice share of Rape-able females ranging from monster girls to mechanical girls, though i'd like to see any real H game involving raping Mechanical girls as games like this is soo sooooo rare nowadays. or even better you play as Male to turn male enemies to become your bitch by genderswapping them. i think nobody has ever done this before. would LOVE to see how it works.

Didn't Illusion make the Battle Raper games? I quite enjoyed them though they were fairly mediocre all around. If the concepts were taken further in those games that could have been something great I think.

i haven't try the battle raper game. i would like to if there's anymore links for it though. that's basically the problem Illusion have with their games. they never really improving their games further. they SHOULD but they didn't (hence the Illusion cycle). either that, or peoples are never really satisfied with their games. i like Rapelay but it's too repetitive it died out for me way faster than any mediocre games from Dlsite.

Well, I just bought my first game in about 4 years. Homeworld Remastered Collection was something I could not pass up. The first Homeworld is fucking awesome. I guess Homeworld 2 is in that collection too, but I will probably never play it.

Why is that game fucking awesome you ask? The story and how it is told is flat out fantastic. The music is close to making my top 10 best ever list.

This is the problem with alot of what I see anymore. There is no compelling story. There is no decent music. There is no decent atmosphere surrounding the game. Its all, here is some pixel shit sprite sex. I guess its a h-game now right?

Never mind that I care little to nothing for some 32x32 pixel I can barely see engaging in sex acts for a minute, but how could that be the deciding factor toward buying/supporting someone?

I could understand a game where the main character was someone I would want to fuck, were I able to magically insert myself into the game world. Thats all fine and good, but there needs to be something more.

I'm totally with you on needing good writing in order for a game to be satisfying.

Music in games is something I grew increasingly disappointed with as I got older. I think ti's fair to say that the SNES-era Final Fantasy games (4/5/6/7) spoiled me. I've been looking through a lot of royalty-free music resources to see if I can just find four themes that I'd be satisfied with for my game, but I've only found one so far that I feel is even decent.

Have to agree with you guys about video game music (in mainstream and in h games). It just isn't as engaging anymore. Really went downhill after the 16 bit era. There were a few rare exceptions though here and there.

As far as protagonist/content, the less human males involved, the better for me. I prefer corruptible female mc's, but futa or monster mc could be interesting if done right (though I have yet to see this, and futa is pretty divisive).

As far as H-gameplay, I'm okay with most types. Don't much care for harem or friendship system/reward sex type games (see protag reasons).

As for the overall genre, don't really care if it's done well. I've been playing video games since the 1980s, and I like all kinds.

Well, like I said, the battle raper series could have been so much better if it just went further. More so the first than the second.

As for game music, I think that will be one of my advantages when I get around to it. I really want to get this MIDI keyboard working, but it is being obstinate at best with some kind of hidden volume setting on the keyboard itself it seems as I record at 100 volume and still get nothing. Probably going to end up wasting a day on that thing at some point just to get it operational.

I have always liked combat, and I like it when the women are involved in it. So in an ideal world I would want to see alot more of that. The only thing really stopping me from doing it myself is just not having the ability to animate a sprite currently (yet another thing on my list of things to do at some point in the near future).

What I would want to see is a game similar to enifuku's (or whatever his name is) last game where you played as a girl that had her clothing destroyed bit by bit as she tried to avoid being raped/beaten as having either of her lifebars totally depleted would cause her to lose. I am not sure how a game over would occur, because losing a fight in isolation should not cause one directly in my opinion.

I like a lot of different types. My day to day preferences are always different, and I think that even if I had a favorite type of protagonist/character progression, I would get bored of it pretty quickly if everything was the same.

That said, I generally don't like playing as characters who are very sexual from the beginning,

One way I would rationalize this is...if somebody else is being sexually aggressive, their actions are a mystery. What are they going to do? How will the protagonist react, or how will I as the protagonist react? If we react in the same way, or if I empathize with the character's thoughts, then I feel more invested in what's happening. On the other hand, if the protagonist is sexually aggressive, it's not as much of a mystery. They have an established personality, so it's more predictable, and I'm not going to identify with the other character very much, because I'm not playing as them, and I can't see their thoughts. However, I do like games where a character can become more sexual over time, because then I can follow the change myself, and be more invested in the character's state.

I also don't like games where you play as a rapist, because I don't find the idea of actually raping someone sexy. In games like that, I find it difficult to identify with the protagonist.

Color me surprised that you're empathizing with the characters you make. I thought, for the most part, people were empathizing with the enemy characters or just wanted sex to happen. It makes sense now that I think about it. You can't really enjoy mindbreak and things of that nature if you can't get into the mindset of the character first. I don't know why I never thought of that until now.

I personally prefer male protagonists for a couple of reasons:

1. As saga55555 previously stated. More girls are better than 1.
   
   
2. I feel that the stories male protagonists can make are lighter. For Instance:
   • You must be registered to see the links
     game. It's a pretty bright game, and even though it involves sex it mostly never loses it's lightheartedness.
   • OneSyota and Kariyume are also pretty lighthearted and features rape.
   
   
3. Also, I like... liking the protagonist. In most games with female protagonists, I do not like the protagonist. When I DO like the female protagonist, the sex normally happens in ways I can't enjoy for the most part. It's the same with the story. If i do like the story, the sex will probably happen in ways I can't enjoy. If the character has no "defined" character it's weird. I didn't mind Demon's Sperm because she's shown to be loose sexuality through action and design so I don't mind the scenes too much, but for games like Dark Star, I just can't bring myself to enjoy the scenes even a little bit...

I prefer female protagonists in GoR or ROR games, preferably with monsters since vanilla sex gets dull after a while. Monster Girl Quest was enjoyable though.
When it comes to BF, whichever sex the protagonist is doesn't matter for me.

If I had to list a single protagonist which tops them all though, I'd have to say Rance. Slapstick comedy and serial rapist for shits and giggles? What's not to like!

Depends on the game. For male protagonists, if it's NTR then I like a naive cowardly waste of space, anything else I prefer a Rance-esque character like from Sengoku Rance and others in that series.

For girl protagonists I like them to be innocent and then get super corrupt as the game/story goes on.

A bit of curiosity on my part, you talked about male characters but if you had a female main character what would be the context where you would like the sex and the story? You mentioned having that problem with games so I was curious.

Story and Gameplay aren't exclusive to each gender. Games with female protagonists can have good stories as well as games with male protagonists. Gameplay isn't gender exclusive so the only thing left is the actual adult aspect of it.

I personally like assertive females, as well as harem situations. I don't like tentacles, NTR, and bestiality so I'm probably going to stick with games that don't do that. Those are my main criteria and while they seem small they exclude all games that have female protagonists. Of course, as a developer and game enthusiast I'm willing to step out of my comfort zone. I can appreciate the art and programming in games I don't enjoy the sexual content of and I'm glad I do that, but my preferences have never changed.

I agree with what you said, especially with the gender exclusive part. Since adult games are still in their infant state I guess is pretty easy to see patterns with how protagonists are treated.

I mainly like playing a female MC in a RPG with GoR elements to it. Although I rather just have her get raped and not get a game over screen. The reason why I like having a female MC is because I like watching her being corrupted and end up being addicted to sex. I would also love if there a lot of sex scenes with various amount of people like Violated Heroine. That game has a lot of sexual content with different characters which makes it somewhat refreshing and why I love it despite it never being completed.

There are a few hentai games that I don't mind playing as a male. I just want a male MC who is badass and who is actually likeable, not too stupid like Ichika from IS or too much of an asshole. I want badass not dumbass or asshole
