Re: [Nutaku] Angelic Saga

Well, there are spells and abilities that force a card to switch stance. Also, you can "offensively defend". Line up high ATK cards in offensive stance and.. don't attack. Make THEM dash themselves against them.
You're limited to 3 of those spells though, so you have very few resources to do that. The problem with defensive attackers is that if your attacker loses to another attacker, you lose LP, which defenders don't.

Re: [Nutaku] Angelic Saga

So am I missing something cardwise or is defense just superior to offense?
There are strengths and weaknesses to both the offensive and defensive style of deck. Offensive decks have lots of ways of increasing their attacks and generally control the flow of combat (they get to choose who they attack, and they can gang up on single defenders). Defensive decks are also very viable due to the reasons that you already stated. I think both styles are viable with the right set of cards (possibly even a balanced deck would work, like what some Wood cards seem to be designed for, and the deck simply plays to the opponent's weakness).

The thing is knowing how to build the deck you want using the right cards for the job. If you are lacking the variety necessary for this choice, it might be necessary to look at the style of the cards that you have, and build an appropriate deck from them. I've noticed that certain spells and traps really help out one deck archetype over another, and the same holds true for character cards as well. Take a really good look at what your cards are good at, and how they can combo with each other for even better overall effects.

Defensive cards have just as many ways to increase defense though, without the penalty of being an attacker, as well as the option to swap defense to offense for a turn to deliver a big attack if the enemy draws a strong card. As I said before, ganging up on single strong defenders isn't necessarily always a good idea since you're losing LP with your failed attacker, it can easily destroy your entire LP pool.

Been having some fun with this game. The lack of PvP is a little disappointing but waiting till Tuesday is good since it allows us to build our decks. Speaking of which, Anyone have any cards besides the starters that have been really useful for them? Sucks there's no easy way to share deck recipes.

Re: [Nutaku] Angelic Saga

@Nordland / NutakuDev

Thx for localizing this game, it is one of the more enjoyable ones amongst the DMM games that i've tried so far.

I have a few questions:
1. Normal Gacha says that Event Cards are not included, but this is bad news for those that like to collect scenes (it gnaws us when we see incomplete gallery). Will there be other ways to collect these cards with scenes (doesn't have to be all the event cards)? maybe a reward for placing a high rank in tournaments? or maybe they'll be added to the normal gacha after the event is finished?

2. How many Story quests bosses are currently available? according to the posts here, people are guessing that there are 8 scenes in total (6 story bosses and 2 Gacha cards).

3. I have drawn almost 60k worth of normal gacha (i've been doing arena a lot). and i have not seen any HR or above cards. Can you make the rate a bit better (wishful thinking)? :D

4. Can we be given the choice to draw from the Premium/Limited gacha with something other than Nutaku gold / currency? maybe a ridiculous amount of Gacha points or Battle points? this will allow the poorer people to still be able to compete as long as they work hard on the game, enabling them to have a slightly better chance against luckier/richer people, which will keep them playing for a lot longer, increasing the challenge and fun. This will boost the overall game experience and your player base.

5. I play from a place that gets disconnected a lot, will there be a reconnect feature in tournaments (maybe a 5 minute limit) in tournaments?

Thx for your time :p

Edit: Added Q5.

Re: [Nutaku] Angelic Saga

I've gotten a couple of SRs from the mission/quest-provided gacha tickets.

..however, one of them has the ability "draws another of this card from your deck when played".. making it completely useless standalone, lol

Re: [Nutaku] Angelic Saga

If you get your attacker over 2000 attack you can avoid dodge and instant death unless the enemy actually had and fielded an ex version. You won't trigger any other traps until you set off the leftmost card, so if you figured out what card is there you can play around it.

Having a card like that direct attack fire or dark one and enhancing it or protecting it with traps will also work out as the heavy defenders usually have to gang up when attacking in order to take a big card down.

Kinda wish I started with the Light deck instead of Dark, pulled a Sakura and she's pretty boss. Her and Natalie have been my MVPs.

I have an SR that's immune to any attacker over 2300 as her passive ability.. just sayin' <.<

Yeah Sakura and Natalie have amazing effects. I've been liking Rosemary and Framboise a lot as well. Great for those extremely defensive monsters.

I don't know other starter cards, and not everyone started green so I'm going to go over a few starters anyway.

-Pumpkin Girl Marsha is an amazing low level card, >1000 atk for 5 mana. The scaling is horrible though, focus on leveling other cards.

-Peot Fiore is another amazing card at low levels, she starts with ~50% more attack and defense than other 4 drops. Of course that means her scaling sucks.

-Hitwoman Natalie: Haste is really good for board control in this game.

-Southern Messenger Emily: Cheap card draw. You can use her to pop traps, expose defenders, or finish off something that was slightly too strong for another creature too. One of a few 2-4 mana girls I saw on the wiki that I thought were worth using.

-Elemental Girls: Most of the girls with 0 cost elemental abilities are good. The HR from the story need to be leveled up though; the base stats are weak, but the scaling brings them ahead of the normal ones eventually. The 0 cost abilities are better because they can be used when the opponent attacks you (also they're free).

You need enough mana to cast the skill, then you click the card, click skill, then click the target you're using the skill on.

If it says "cost: 0", then it is a passive skill that will always activate against the corresponding element, attacking OR defending.

If it has an actual mana cost, then it can only be used offensively and must be activated manually.

Do we have a wiki up yet, by chance? I tried searching for one, but no dice. Links would be appreciated.

Not sure if you meant english wiki, or if there is one yet. Japanese wiki is here:

Just looking at some of these cards, I predict much cursing and flipped tables when actual pvp starts.

Re: [Nutaku] Angelic Saga

^ Yeah, something's going on with Nutaku's end at around this hour (or rather, one hour from this post). @Nordland, do you know what the reason for the downtime is?

You're limited to 3 of those spells though, so you have very few resources to do that. The problem with defensive attackers is that if your attacker loses to another attacker, you lose LP, which defenders don't.
Few resources? Wood decks would disagree, since Pumpkin Girl Marsha's effect is essentially the same as Decree. Using one to suicide against something like, say, Berserker Sylvie, is pretty good to force it into defense mode, if you don't mind taking a large LP hit due to Sylvie's massive attack.

Could still be abusable if you play your cards right, which is why I love Marsha, awful growths aside.

I don't know other starter cards, and not everyone started green so I'm going to go over a few starters anyway.
Agreed on these, but I'll also add:

Wood Mage Laurel, who's a pretty decent tank and her skill is very abusable on the dumb AI that throws low-attack fodder on tanks that'll survive. She's a pretty good makeshift Drop of Life for that reason, but she'll probably be less useful in tourneys unless you supplement her with traps to keep her alive.

Hero Sakura, who most of us are probably already familiar with as the strongest 9-cost R card and probably the sole redeeming factor of the light starter deck.

Archer Anne, who starts out being pretty awful, but her growths are actually pretty amazing and she gets pretty good final stats for a cost-8.

And I don't think she's a starter, but Disciple of Yin and Yang Yuzuki is amazing for her effect (-500 attack to her opponent for EVERY battle, whether she's attacking or defending).
