Yeah, I got lucky really with that draw then, if I hadn't drawn Onyx you would have beat me. I thought I was going to lose when you got my Sakura and you still had that face down Ryumei and a trap.

highlights my point.. ONE... A SINGLE card.. massive tempo swing

..and just lost another match because of a team of Asukas.. another card I have none of.. meant I couldn't keep anything in defensive

Currently 45-72.. and 7 of those wins were timeouts. I think I've decided if/when I get those last 5 wins for the gacha ticket I'm done this tournament.

..and yes, I totally buy the theory that you only see the good-great decks because all the mediocre and lower players have already long bailed.

Asuka is pretty good, she was in the JP AS wiki's recommended cards. Okita is also pretty good. I made the mistake of leveling Jody since I started with a light deck but Okita can demolish even Framboise with enough levels.

Hm.. have two Okita's.. looks like I started leveling one of them (got her to 18), then decided against it. Neither are in my deck..

..but again, that brings me to my main complaint about the game. Because you have to level cards and because it takes such relatively extraordinary resources to do so, experimenting with decks is prohibitive.

I think level 30 is okay, it doesn't take much either, you usually get enough fodder from 3-4 rolls of the 2k gacha. Sure you can't beat those whale kings with just level 30s but it puts one in a very good position imo.

If you didn't put in enough time or money to level all of your cards up to a decent level, focus on a few, and add a ton of traps. A max level Sakura with a few of "Never Give up", Dodges, Invitations to Hell, or Banishes backing her up can withstand quite a bit more than 4 level 30 creatures. The price you pay is a bit of early game life, and the occasional need to mulligan (lose very quickly).

..but you still can't experiment. Most of my low cost Ns aren't leveled because of the fear I'll just end up replacing them later and all those cards destroyed leveling them would have been wasted. You pretty much have to pure-theorycraft beforehand and hope for the best when deciding what to level.

Were it me designing the game and the card-leveling aspect HAD to be in, I'd either lower the materials needed to level them or lower the max level of all the cards.. by a lot. Would allow for more diversity and strategy (which is my other complaint about the game.. it being so trap-centric that there's a whole lot more guessing and poker than strategy)

I guess, the only Ns I have that have levels are Sara, again because I started with the light deck. You don't have to rely on just theorycrafting, you can see what works sometimes when you lose to other people, seeing what works for them then try it out for yourself. That's how I found Okita is good since she destroys my Asukas and Framboises. Not to mention you can summon her face down without worry most of the time due to her high defense.

I agree that they should lower the amount of exp required so we could at least give whales some run for their money. I'm impartial with the way traps work but I've seen some people really like it. Maybe because they like playing mind games with their enemies.

A max level Sakura is like equivalent to 16 lvl 30s or more though, not to mention you need upgrade materials. I might be wrong.

She's that delinquent looking girl with her arms crossed. The one with the skill that lowers the targets defense for 4(?) cost.

I have the reverse problem... 4 witches brews, 3 philosopher stones, but no crystals/droplets or whatever... I don't know whether I'm lucky or unlucky...

Well yeah, I said that under the assumption that people already had used the SSR exps they got. What I was trying to say isn't that people should focus on having a lot of lvl 30 cards but rather, it would help a player a lot to level his other cards to 30 because it provides enough of a difference for its low cost. I thought that you meant that someone who is having trouble in the tourney but already used up all hip SSRs, he should try to focus on level a Sakura or something to max. So I replied that he could just level a bunch of his other cards to 30 would and see the difference much earlier.

Just had perpero and angelic crash getting application error while playing tournament. Game was at 23 mana and we were still very close.

Ended up losing 23rp and 1 cp cuz of this crash. yay it kicked me back out of the top 30.

Ah, I was Regret, about twenty minutes ago. Ya had me early game with a buffed Rebecca (BoA) and I came back with a Natalie and two BoAs on her. Just wanted to post cause I thought you were checking here constantly, but eh, back to the tourney.

@Eab: Oh yeah, I FINALLY played some guy who used a Fizzle. It literally and figuratively did nothing.
