Hi, we're , the development team behind . Sanguine Rose is a NSFW Visual Novel about power dynamics - Domination, Submission, and Seduction - set in a warring medieval world. You are Roman, a mercenary tasked with the kidnapping and delivery of High General Carmen Valentine, the head of the Sanguine Rose army. The game begins shortly after you successfully capture her, and although she is your prisoner, she will quickly begin taking control of the situation. While you and your fellow mercenaries wait for your employer to arrive and claim Carmen, she will attempt to seduce and corrupt each of you - and win you over to her side.


Our goal with Sanguine Rose is to make choices which can have both immediately apparent consequences, and also more subtle influences later on. We're also firm believers in having NSFW content be part of the game, and not a reward for 'winning' or a punishment for 'losing'. Your choices along the way will determine the kinds of content you encounter, but there are no bad routes without content. From your first shift watching Carmen, she will attempt to seduce you based off of what she thinks you want. Your choices determine how she tries to win you over. For example, if you inquire about other times she has been a prisoner, she will assume you are the dominating type and will try to taunt you into being more assertive and aggressive. If you inquire about what she does with her prisoners, she will assume you are submissive and begin bossing you about.



You're not the only merc that Carmen has her eyes on. Your team has three other members: Markus, Crow, and Glasha. Each has their own sexual drives, and Carmen will exploit and corrupt them accordingly. Some scenes will take place from these other character's points of view. In day one (which the Alpha demo covers) Carmen focuses most of her attention on Crow, the petite half-orc with repressed sexual urges. Carmen will corrupt Crow in different ways depending on the choices you make.

I love the art style. The game is early in development, but what is there so far is worth seeing.

Sorry about that, we've ditched Dropbox now because they removed public hosting. All our links are fixed and the download option should work now.

This version features music, a fully functioning gallery which tracks how much content you've unlocked, and a new scene featuring Carmen and Crow!

Seems like quite a bit of content. Solid artwork too.

I've always felt like the visual novel format needed some innovation though. Something like a "what would have happened if...." option to skip past all the viewed stuff, but refresh the player's memory quickly.

That's a pretty good idea, but I'm not sure how to go about implementing it. At the moment you can use the checkpoint buttons at the bottom to jump back to previous points in the scene though.
