Introduction -
This project originally started when I noticed that there's no games based on the Batman the Animated Series, and/or Justice League Unlimited style of artwork, so I thought I'd make one. I also really liked the old school dating sims, and since there aren't many of those around anymore, I thought I'd make the game a dating sim. I wanted to focus more on the hentai content than older dating sims though. It always felt like they were way too much work for what little hentai was actually put in the game. Anyway, after a while, I finally put it together, and here we are. It changed from a straight up parody game, to a game with original characters, that just shares an art style with the DCAU.

Setting/Plot -
You're an average college student living in Neo New York. Working part-time and going to school. One day, a beautiful girl moves in next door. Her name is Angela, and you instantly fall in love. Throughout the game you'll be able to get closer to her, and will be able to dress her up in various outfits.

Gameplay -
It plays a lot like older dating sims (see: Sim Girl and Ganguro Girl). Except there's only one girl. However, you'll be able to buy various costumes, that give her the appearance of different characters. I'm doing it this way, because it always annoyed me in dating sims having to reset the game, or have to start from scratch, every time I wanted to see another character. This way, you won't have to do that, you'll just have to go and change her clothes. I'm planning on putting at least 25 costumes in the game, and I'll be having polls to decide 16 of the costumes that will be included in the game. I'll have the polls up here, and on [link=https://www.patreon.com/exerart]my Patreon[/link]. Patrons are able to get more votes than voting here though. Anyway, as long as people support the game, I will keep adding costumes too.

Like other dating sims, there will be a map for you to use to move around the city. You'll be able to upgrade your stats by, talking to/dating Angela, going to school, working out, and flirting with women at a bar. You'll earn money when you work (there will be different jobs that give more money depending on your stats), and you can spend that money on presents to help boost Melanie's affection, get new costumes, and also more significant stat boosts. I'll also be including some hidden areas and easter eggs for people to find.

The main difference between A Perfect Ten and other dating sims, is that I've decided to get rid of the day to day progression, the energy depletion elements, and the time limit. I always hated day to day time limit stuff, because it always sucked getting to the end of the game and either not unlocking everything and having to start over, or accidentally getting the wrong item and having to start over. Basically, it just sucked putting a bunch of work into a game, and then just having to start all over. I also decided to get rid of the energy depletion elements, because I've always found it tedious in other games having to go and "sleep" in order to do more. It just always felt like an unnecessary extra step. I want the game to feel more relaxed and less tedious than others.

Characters and Costumes -
The default character is named Angela. Like I said, I have 25 other costumes planned, and 16 of those will be decided using polls. So at the very least, when the game is complete, there will be a total of 26 costumes. Not all costumes will be from the DC Animated universe, but all of them will be drawn in a similar style. I'm not going to announce all of the costumes being put in, because I think it'll be fun for people to figure out for themselves, but I'll be announcing some of them as I develop the game, and of course I'll be announcing which character wins in each poll.

Costumes Currently in Game
Name of in-game costume - Character it's based on
Classy Dress - Mary McGinnis
Rocket Skirt - Jessie/Musashi from Pokemon
It's A Secret - Felicia Hardy
Ghost Mom - Maddie Fenton

Costumes Coming in future versions
Name of in-game costume - Character it's based on
Dat Comic Chick - Zatanna
????? - Black Canary

Engine -
The game is being built using Tyranno Builder. The developers of Tyranno are really good about continually updating with new features, and I'll be sure to use any that get put in in later versions.

Version 0.3 Download/Version Notes -
Version 0.3 is finally here! A lot has been updated and added in this version! Take a look below to check out the things changed and added in 0.3.

- Various Bug and Text Fixes

- Increased text scroll speed

- The first costume poll winner "It's A Secret" costume added with 1 scene

- "Rocket Skirt" costume added with 1 scene

- "Ghost Mom" costume added with 1 scene

- Added 2nd scene for "Classy Dress" costume

- Movie Date added

- 3rd scene added for Angela (has to be unlocked before you can do it whenever)

- Added a "Stats" button on the main map, so you can access your stats without having to go back to your apartment.

I'll be slowing down development a bit between 0.3 and 0.4. I've currently been working on it like a part-time job, at around 20-30 hours a week. Having to work full-time on top of that, and do commissions, is killing me. Since this project is getting the least amount of support, I'll be slowing down a bit. I'm definitely not going to be stopping, but I'll be working maybe 2-4 hours a week on it. If the game starts to get some support, I will ramp up the amount of time spent making the game though. In the meantime, I'll just be working on it in my free time. I hope everyone likes v0.3!

You can get the latest public build from my Patreon!
Patreon -

Current Poll Options - None
Here are the references I'll be using for each costume in the current costume poll if it wins. Make sure to check these before voting, to make sure it's the same costume you're thinking of! Also keep in mind that Patreon supporters get more than just one vote! You get more votes the higher tier you are.
Keep in mind, that if the game ends up being popular enough, and I end up putting in more than the initial 25 costumes, I'll be taking the runner up of every poll and be putting them back into a new poll at a later date. So if your favorite doesn't win, there's still a chance to get it in the game!

Currently no poll going on. Since I'm scaling back development time, I'll be starting the next poll, once I'm getting close to the 0.4 release.

Previous Winners
It's a Secret - Felcia Hardy
DC Heroines - Zatanna
Be My Valentine - ????????
Royalty - ????????
????????

Let me know what you think!

Almost done with version 0.2. Already have the work area finished, the base mall area done (which will give hints as to what costumes are going to be put in), the current scene done, and added a button to check stats from the main map. Just need to finish up the new scene and the first date, and it will be ready to be released. This also means the base mechanics of the game are done, I just need to add in content. I'll tweak and add things as needed as I continue making the game though.

However, very few people have really expressed interest in the game, and not many people have been downloading it. So, I'm starting to wonder if it's just because there's a lack of content, or because there's already a game based on the DCAU art style, or something else entirely. So, I thought I'd ask, and see what people have to say.

I drew a sample of Angela in a more detailed art style to possibly use for the game, if disinterest is really because of the art style. It's still heavily influenced by the DCAU, but is a little more detailed and realistically proportioned. Here is the sample.

Let me know what you want to see in the game as well. No matter what, I'm going to continue making it, because it's a game I've wanted to make for a while. The amount of content I put it will change depending on how much interest there is though.

Ok, so I just saw it in new posts and checked out this thread.

So, here are my thoughts, yes, it will be a wall of text:
First thing, when I saw this DCAU like artstyle I was already like: Oh! I want to check it out.
Now that I am comparing DCAU and your detailed style in second post...
Detailed doesn't work, first one works waaay better, even by nostalgia factor, still better. If you want to do anything, I suggest just refining it as much as you can/want but keeping around it.
It does work, so do not worry about this, it just may need some tweaking for hentai purposes, so it doesn't look weird in sex scenes. Artist doing images for Something Unlimited by Sunsetrisers7 nailed it, but it doesn't mean it can't be nailed again without copying that.

Simple exposition at the start, seems fine, I want to get to good stuff and not read autobiography of MC :D
Explanation of stats also was fine, simple, quick, without unneeded stuff.

Problems do start after this.
Grind, it's made in similar manner to old flash dating sims, so grinding is pretty much a backbone for those. Balancing is the biggest issue, because after few minutes I was searching for skip button so I don't need to read same text over and over. I found it in settings menu, but it seemed like I need to go there every time to skip, kinda annoying, so I went with old LMB mashing.
If you want to keep it as it is, try adding either randomized flavor texts or flavor texts that make you feel like it's just more than numbers rising up.
Like: after getting to [x] level of str, (can also be random event):
"Suddenly a girl approaches you"
"Girl: Hey, I have seen you few times here now and... Wow, you are really starting to look good!"
blah-blah-blah, insert more flavor here, give str and cfd to player.

Things like this will definitely kill a lot of boring, repetitive grind.
Same goes for talking with Angela or any repetitive content.

There are other ways of countering boring grind, but that would mean changing a lot of core parts of the game.

Other stuff that could work to spice stat grind, would be simple silhouettes of MC doing stuff. For lessons, classroom would be great. Mix it with flavor texts and it will feel like something is happening other than ++[stat].

I didn't see any hentai parts, maybe I just didn't grind enough, but I was already thinking of starting up cheat engine and screwing around to see what's more in it without doing repetitive tasks.

All of older, flash dating sims (that's what I call them :p) had simple carrot and stick principle: Do something, get reward. So grinding stats, gaining money and giving gifts was rewarded with hentai scenes.
This works for a lot of games, but it's an overused way. So best next best thing would be divide and conquer, make carrot and stick with smaller rewards for smaller things (like gym example I showed, maybe add mini side story to this and some hentai stuff to spice it up), that ultimately turn into big carrot and bigger reward.

So yeah, I would go back to rethinking how it could be improved, maybe play it too many times and try nailing all the stuff that gets annoying and how to improve it.

I don't know if it helps, maybe you have better ideas to incorporate.
But content does make shitload of difference, especially images/CGs.

Good example would be Akabur's witch trainer, where carrot and stick method is incorporated in a very efficient way and most of tasks are repetitive as fuck, but little flavors and slow ladder climbing, giving something back each time almost nullifies that boring grind.
So yeah, try finding something that will make people want more, which mostly is content and hiding grind under something.

Thanks a ton for all the feedback!

I'll see what I can do refining the current art style. I've already changed it up a little bit from being 100% accurate to the show, to help make things easier. I definitely want to keep it as accurate as possible though. Especially because I want to make sure it's different from Something Unlimited. That artist took a lot of artistic liberties, and while it looks fantastic, it's not too accurate to the actual cartoon. Most notably, it's far more detailed.
That's the main part that I'm trying to be different with. It is pretty difficult line to walk though. Adding too much detail will make it too much like SU, but keeping it too close to the actual cartoon is a nightmare to make hentai scenes with.

Good to hear the intro is working. It's definitely not meant to be a story heavy game.

You've actually mentioned most of the things that I've already been working on improving, haha.
I've been doing my best to fix the grinding aspect. For the next release, I'm lowering the amount needed to enter Angela's apartment, and making more ways to get stats faster. I've added 3 sections to each of the stat gaining areas, so the higher it gets, the faster you can level. The work areas will also increase stats while you get money too. I'll definitely be adding in some secret events, but that won't be until later. I'm trying to get some more scenes into the game, as well as costumes, first.
While I haven't planned on adding a side-story to the gym or school, I am planning one for the bar.

There's a skip button added into the next version too, because having to mash click isn't fun.

In that build, there's just one hentai scene. Once you get Love high enough, Angela will let you into her apartment. Like I said, I'll lower the amount needed to get in. I don't want there to be too much grinding. Especially if you don't get the extra Love from the opening segment.

Oddly enough, Witch Trainer is exactly the kind of game type I was trying to avoid. I've tried both Witch Trainer and Princess Trainer, but after a good 15-20 min, there still wasn't any really going on, and I never got any hentai. There was way too much exposition for my taste too, and the hentai content seemed really sparing. I'll give them a try again though, and see what I can learn from them.
I definitely want there to be a steady stream of scenes in A Perfect Ten, as well as a lot of variety. Since that's what I look for in a hentai game.

Once again, thanks a ton for all the feedback. I really appreciate it, and it was definitely helpful. I definitely feel like I'm heading in the right direction, and will make sure the next build is significantly better.
