Are the Lusterise games worth this much? Also some help if possible. (fixed, kinda)

I've been seeing a few snippets of scenes from the Lusterise games, specifically the Exs-Tia games. I recently found out they're being sold on the DLsite and I was thinking of maybe getting them. They seem to be Visual Novels, so even if I can't read them, it shouldn't be difficult to see the scenes. Especially compared to RPGs.

They're the first four there, but I was wondering if anyone else tried them yet. They're pretty expensive for a VN. Each one costing 50-60 dollars, and I just thought that was pretty pricey, so would anyone give their say on if they're worth that much? I could always wait for a sale or a coupon.

Disclaimer: I am NOT asking for a link for the game, just opinions.
 
EX-TIA series is one of the best eroge in magical girl genre. They're actually cheap. Usual price for VN in japan is 9800 JPY. They're definitely worth playing.
 
Well nice to hear they're really good, but you think they're cheap? The 4 exs-tia games on the dlsite right now average about 60 dollars each, and 9800 yen is around 75 dollars. That's like full price for a commercial game right now. Well, I was hoping to see them go on sale, but DLsite likes to give out coupons regularly, so if they're as good as you say, I might end up using the coupon soon.
 
Full-length adult visual novels are bonkers expensive; the ones translated into English and sold on Jast/MangaGamer/Steam usually have their prices chopped in half from what they were in Japan, because no fucking way would Westerners pay $80 to $100 for an illustrated audio book. Even if just one of these basically contains an entire TV series' run time worth of fully voiced smut.

DLsite is very generous about coupons; waiting for a sale too isn't a terrible idea though.

The Ex-Tia series is basically becoming the replacement for Alicesoft's Beat series, since the Beat series has degraded into gacha game nonsense.
 
So I managed to get exs-tia 3 a bit ago, but I don't know if I'm doing something wrong. The text is all weird, and the game crashes on me with an error that has no description. I tried their latest games, and those worked fine, so I don't know what's going on here. If anyone has any ideas on what's wrong, I'm all ears.
 
Try having your system regional setting to set to Japanese and running Locale Emulator in admin mode on top of that. There's a number of games where it's necessary to do both to get things to work right.
 
Huh, weird. I could have sworn I changed that a while ago. Must have been on a different computer. Yeah that seems to at least have fixed the crashing. For reference, this is what I was getting.

Although it's not crashing now, I'm still getting weird symbols for the text.

I had another exs-tia game that crashed as well, but when I swapped regions, that was fixed and the text is normal japanese characters as well. Not sure what's going on with the 3rd game then. Oh well, at least it isn't crashing and I can see the pics. Thanks.
 
As said, sometimes you need to swap regions and run

on top of that. That's what I've needed to do when the text fucks up like that.
