This could be it. Over the last two months, Celeste had been tracking something.... Some sort of creature that no one had ever heard of, which was rumored to have had made its home somewhere deep within the Pfithirian jungle, and which was supposed to be a creature of absolute darkness. Could this be what had taken her parents from her, all those years ago? Even if it wasn't, there couldn't be any harm in checking. She'd traveled through the jungle many times over the years, hunting various dangerous creatures for an assortment of reasons. While there were many things there that she wasn't familiar with, the jungle being vast and largely unexplored, she felt comfortable enough in it to survive. It was from a trip to that deep, dark jungle that Celeste was now returning, coming back to resupply and avoid the jungle monsoons that often came with the first few weeks of spring.
She was in one of the numerous open air tavern that dotted the city when the thing Arrived. It was the size of a mountain, easily dwarfing any of the ancient stone monuments that Celesis contained as it floated hundreds of feet above the city. It was gray, and from the relatively flat main body sprung thousands of writhing tentacles, some of which were themselves hundreds of feet long. "What in the voids name is that!?" The tavernmaster said, gazing up at the strange titan that had so suddenly appeared above them. As he spoke, tiny objects, like rain drops or particles of ash, began raining down from it. Moments later, Celeste heard a scream from outside, which soon erupted into a chorus of shouts, shrieks, howls and battle cries from the town guard.
